We delayed starting my son's vaccinations because of his health issues and because he is not in daycare or school and has very limited exposure to the outside world. I have 2 older children and they are fully vaccinated. I called his office and asked about getting my son an appt for a check up and to begin his vaccinations because he is now over 12 months old and we have confirmed his allergies. The receptionist told me Dr Cohen would not see my son because he is not flexible on vaccines and the fact that I waited to start my son was a no go. I may have understood the Dr's position if I wasn't making the appt to get him started on his vaccines. This is unacceptable, Dr's should provide care for all people. If I was an orthodox jew or Christian scientist who declined vaccines because of religion than this would be discrimination. It's so stupid, especially considering the reason for my appt was to get my son started

They spent so much time with us, did an X-ray, and even gave my daughter a tablet to watch while she was waiting. At the end, they let her choose a toy! The doctor examined her thoroughly and explained everything clearly. I am absolutely amazed! It felt like we had entered paradise. This is the best clinic I have ever visited in my entire life! They tested for a number of ailments and she was positive for rhinovirus and a(non-covid 19) coronavirus, but she also had an ear infection. We had test results within minutes! They provided us with a nasal rinse and a prescription for antibiotics. From reception to the MA to the MD, everyone we saw was so kind and professional. We have been to quite a few urgent cares and RKUC was leaps and bounds a better experience! We also learned that they have the ability to X-ray on site and do comprehensive check ups for school sports. No one wants to go to an urgent care, but this is hands down the only place I would bring my children. We are so fortunate to have Rainbow Kids Urgent Care in our community!

Dr. Paul Wang is patient and thoughtful during examination and conservative with his treatments which we appreciate. I see negative comments regarding his staff, but I've never encountered any issues. His mother still works in his office. To some she might be hard to understand with a heavy Chinese accent, but she's kind, thorough and knowledgeable. The office is not fancy or high tech, but what matters the most to us is his treatment of our family. The primary sadness for us is that we are about to "age out" of pediatrics! HOWEVER: As every other review states: the front office is the problem. As another reviewer stated, we also tolerated the front office but can no longer do it. My daughter is a frequent flyer, just had the well visit 2 months ago, and one vaccine was MISSED. This vaccine was due at 18 months, my daughter is now 3.5. She has frequently been sick, which is why we would have to reschedule vaccine appointments. She did receive vaccine from Dr. Wang at 17months. I called to make an appointment because she needs that vaccine for daycare. Mama Wang (as we call her) said insurance won't pay and I'd have to pay $150 out of pocket. What?????? I told her this vaccine was missed and very overdue. She was VERY offended by that and said it's the fault of the previous doctor we had. She consulted her paper charts, and rattled off dates. The fact remains, my daughter received vaccines from Dr. Wang at 17 months and this vaccine was due at 18 months, while under his care. She continued to argue against that. She then said Dr. Wang would call me, but "he is on his lunch now." No other practice does this for vaccines. If a vaccine is due, you just make an appointment and they do it. So, I waited to hear from Dr. Wang, and never got a call. The next day, I called insurance and was told it depends on my benefits, which is a $10 copay, and I quote "UNLESS THEY AREN'T BILLING AND ARE DOING SOMETHING THEY ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO DO." I called the office after, and Mama Wang answered again. She again was very argumentative even when I told her what insurance said. She told me Dr. Wang is sick "like she told me" (which she didn't, she said he was on his lunch) and that's why he can't call. During this call, she told me 3 times "if you're not happy, you can change doctor." Well, I don't need to be told a 4th time. All because I questioned why I would have to pay $150 for one vaccine that was missed because they do not do electronic records. They have paper charts only. Good luck with that. Dr. Wang, sorry but your staff is too much. I know one is your mom, but if I can't reach you directly or speak to someone who understands what I (and insurance) are saying, then it's not worth the stress. Change the staff, get EHR, and I feel a lot of problems would be resolved.
