We delayed starting my son's vaccinations because of his health issues and because he is not in daycare or school and has very limited exposure to the outside world. I have 2 older children and they are fully vaccinated. I called his office and asked about getting my son an appt for a check up and to begin his vaccinations because he is now over 12 months old and we have confirmed his allergies. The receptionist told me Dr Cohen would not see my son because he is not flexible on vaccines and the fact that I waited to start my son was a no go. I may have understood the Dr's position if I wasn't making the appt to get him started on his vaccines. This is unacceptable, Dr's should provide care for all people. If I was an orthodox jew or Christian scientist who declined vaccines because of religion than this would be discrimination. No imaging... it was like a 5 minute office visit literally in and out. They're in-network and charged my insurance over $600 for it, yikes. We paid our copay in office. Then we got a bill for $200 in the mail? With absolutely zero explanation of what the charge was for. How much are they trying to make off this? We usually use MDSTAT in EDH and they've never sent us an extra bill. Anyway, I figured it was a mistake and waited for them to clear it up with insurance. They sent it straight to collections like 2 months later. When I tried to call their billing office, no answer, I left a voice mail and they never got back to me. I just paid it to get it over with but 100% will never go back here. I've never had a medical or dental office send a bill to collections, ever, let alone so fast without trying to clear it up with me first. And truly can't believe they charged that much for such a simple procedure. I still don't know what the $200 charge was for considering they're in network and we paid our copay. Oh well, we'll stick with MDSTAT.

The office (MAs) are terrible at returning calls when you get ahold of them on the phone. I have called several times in regards to a dr note for my child. Each time they say they will give the note to the dr and call back. I try not to be that annoying parent and give them a week cause I know they are busy. I call back and each time they have someone lying and said they left a voice mail to call back. There is no voicemail. I only have my one phone and voicemail to keep track of - why lie and say you left me a voicemail when you didn't??? The only time they do call back is if I leave a voicemail on their answering machine asking for a status and I get a message back saying to call. I call and then get told that they left me a voicemail to follow up with their Citrus Heights office. Really??? No voicemail!!! Why lie!!! I am beyond pissed as the current note is now expired and the dr is on vacation for a couple weeks and we can't get into Shriners Hospital until January 16th. I would gladly come work for them and properly call people back for them and correctly notate it .
