However, no one asked what vision insurance I had. When I arrived, they asked for my medical insurance cards but never asked for my vision insurance. I was also asked whether I was having any medical eye problems, and I said no. I was there for a routine eye exam. After the exam, I was told it would cost an additional $50 if I wanted my eyeglass prescription. When I explained that I have vision insurance, I was then told they don't accept my plan. I chose not to pay the $50 because my vision insurance covers routine exams and prescriptions, so unfortunately the entire appointment ended up being a waste of my time. I now have to make another appointment with an in-network eye doctor. I'm also unclear why my medical insurance information was taken for what I understood to be a routine vision exam. This whole situation could have been avoided if, when I specifically asked about insurance while making the appointment, they had simply asked which vision insurance I had and verified whether they accepted it. Very disappointing experience and not a good way to run a practice.

He was notified but chose not to come to the ER. There was no other ophthalmologist available so i was unable to receive the treatment I needed, and as a result I am now blind in one eye. I was in ICU for two days and the hospital did not attempt to find another ophthalmologist. No physician on staff was qualified to dilate my eye to asses for a retinal artery occlusion or a detached retina, I was visiting from another state and had to make an Emegency flight home to see my ophthalmologist but, unfortunately , the window of time for appropriate treatment had passed.

The way Dr. Chong explained things and told me what she was doing was so impressive, usually I have to ask 50 questions but she answered everything before I had to ask anything. I truly felt like Dr. Chong really cared about the health of my eyes and I didnt feel like a number at all like one does at most medical offices. Her assistant and office staff were all fabulous, helpful pleasant and kind. Although, Dr. Chong has a very busy schedule, I NEVER felt rushed or pressured. Extremely disappointing and frustrating experience at Petelin Vision…read more After waiting an hour and a half, I finally had to get up, leave the exam room, and ask the staff if anyone was actually going to see me. That alone was unacceptable and showed very little regard for my time. When doctor Petelin finally came in, things somehow got worse. Rather than taking a moment to review my chart and understand my history, he immediately started asking questions and making statements that were factually incorrect. The whole interaction came across as arrogant, dismissive, and completely lacking in professionalism. I became so frustrated that when they finally went back to review my chart, I got up and walked out. I told them plainly that they had wasted my time. After sitting there for an hour and a half only to have the doctor come in unprepared and make incorrect assumptions, I saw no reason to continue. Patients are trusting you with their time, money, and eyesight. The least they should receive is basic professionalism, preparation, and respect. Unfortunately, I experienced none of that here. I will be taking my business somewhere else--somewhere that actually values its patients and understands that their time matters. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Petelin Vision.

It's so crazy to me that I can drive and see street signs now without needing glasses, something I haven't been able to do in the last 10 years. The procedure was quick and painless. I just remember looking for the green lights that they told me to look for. Waking up in the middle of the night when the numbing wore off that hurt really bad, but thanks for the Tylenol PM being offered I fell right back asleep. I woke up the next day feeling much better. It was definitely worth it. They load you up with eye drops, which is extremely helpful because my eyes feel super dry, which is to be expected, but it's not unbearable. This is also something that will go away with time. you will definitely have the urge to rub your eyes, do not do it. Feels like a bunch of dust or sand just went into them, just load them up with more eye drops. If you've made it this far through my review, I noticed some negative reviews prior to my surgery that they were just in it for the money. I would like to personally say I completely disagree, I told Dr.Perry one of my main concerns was the blinding lights at night and he told me the lasik will fix my astigmatism and my ability to see, but if all I want to do is fix the lights that has to do with my pupil size and that he would just stop now and not proceed with the surgery. I truly feel like he gives expert medical advice and for him to even give me the option to not proceed before following through with everything gave me even more reassurance that they weren't just in it for the money. I never write reviews this long but for something so important as eye sight I felt like this was necessary. I was referred to them by my boyfriend and I will be referring them to anybody I know that is considering Lasik.
