I spoke to Lexi, made an appointment with her, was easy to get at the time I needed. Lexi was lovely from the first second on the phone to the minute I walked out the door. Most importantly, my color looks great, well matched to my skin tones and glowing with highlights and lowlights. If I had not had that bad experience, this would be a 4 star, maybe 5 star review. But I am moderating it based on what I experienced in the past, while keeping an open mind for raising it in the future. Rosibel was my stylist for my haircut. She did a great job all around. My shampoo was relaxing, I could see her focused on getting my hair right while she did the actual cutting, and her blow dry styling was wonderful. Even my husband noticed, and he doesn't really pick up on that stuff. I was so happy with how my hair looked, it felt like a shame that I was just going home, haha. I wanted to show it off, and that is not my typical post-haircut mood.

Caren actually cut my hair dry first (something no one has done before, but something I'll inquire about from now on) and only once she was mostly done washed, did a little tidying, dried, and VOILA: I have a haircut that settled perfectly day-of and, more importantly, has settled perfectly every day since. I'm low-fuss when it comes to my hair (I wash with a little shampoo and ton of conditioner, and maybe use little leave-in coconut oil before air-drying, but that's about it). Caren's cut works perfectly for my normal minimal-maintenance days, and frames my face more nicely on days when I play a bit. Best yet, Caren's cut cost half of what a comparable job in San Fran would cost! If only I could take her back to the Bay with me, I'd have Caren cut my hair forever.

Northfield is a tiny, lush green town with a total of one stop light and Bobbie's is conveniently located right near it. The trial was free and I left a little concerned about the lack of volume (due to my flat fine Asian hair, not Lori's skill). The morning of the wedding I arrived to have my hair done (before my makeup since Bobbie's doesn't have air conditioning and I didn't want to sweat it all off) and Lori had been inspired to tuck "bump-it's" into my hair... genius!! She expertly added perfectly placed poofs, bumps and curls around my head and gave me the 411 on what to do with my veil. Another hair stylist insisted I eat a fruit bar to avoid passing out in the middle of my vows since I was too nervous to eat. All the girls were so sweet and friendly, it was refreshing to experience the intimacy of everyone in a small town especially coming out from Los Angeles.
