My hairdresser of a million years moved to buffalo last year so my blonde had grown out quite a bit. 6(ish) months ago I put red in my hair to tide me over until I found someone to take her place. After doing a lot of online research I decided to give Jennas Salon (the Clifton park location) a try. I made my first appt for March but due to coronavirus had to post pone. I texted them to reschedule in June a long with my hairs story and I said they will need to set aside a few hours to work on my hair. Fast forward to yesterday. I met with Sarah (and Maggie I believe - briefly). Both were very polite. They did a strand test (20 minutes of 40 dev) and it pulled copper. I was told that they could remove the very minimal remaining red and make my hair brown. Not even a light brown. Just brown. And I was told that transitioning my hair from brown back to a blonde shade would take 6-12 months. I left after that incredibly upset and cried my eyes out. Later that night I messaged multiple salons in the area with shat happened and a salon manager got me in ASAP today. I'm now back to platinum blonde and my hair still feels great. Jennas is clean, they have parking available and the people are polite. But when it comes to color correction or going from darker hair to pale blonde they either won't do it or can't do it. I couldn't say. I was so so so upset when I left. Super glad I found someone to help me so quickly there after. I don't know the rules on mentioning other businesses on reviews, so if you want to find where I went and see the before and after you'll have to check my reviews I think. I actually feel a bit bad leaving a negative review since the staff was so nice, but it was very upsetting for me. And the 6-12 month thing was so very wrong since I'm now sitting here, writing this, already back to blonde. You guys really missed the mark with me. After seeing several photos of a friend's post-Jenna's Salon hair, I knew I needed to check it out. Just take a look at the social media accounts for Jenna's Salon and you'll see plenty of enviable long locks and bouncy curls. Sadly, the thick unruly hair I used to complain about has morphed into fine, flat hair somewhere in my mid to late 20s. Thus, although I knew my hair couldn't look like the pictures, I was excited to see what Jenna's Salon could do for me. I've been going to Jenna's for about 3 years now, and to be honest, I've never gotten anything fancy done here. Just a basic, straight trim. No balayage, no highlights, no lash extensions, no up-dos, but they do all of those. However, what I do appreciate is that for a basic haircut, I'm not paying an insane amount of money. Haircuts start at $25, and are priced based on the experience level of your stylist. I've seen a few of the stylists, ranging from the rookies to those more experienced, so I've paid between $25 and $40, but the haircuts do go above $50 if you want to book with the salon's namesake. If you're looking to keep your cut at or under a certain amount, the receptionist will be able to tell you the price points of the stylists. For me, paying under $30 for a trim, wash, quality hair products, and a blow out is perfect. Now, I will say that I have not always loved the way one or two of the stylists have blow dried my hair, but if you actually have the ability to express your opinions to your hair stylist (unlike me, as I somehow can't say anything other than "it looks great," even if I don't love the style), they are all so nice and accommodating, I believe you'll leave with the look you want. And if you're one of the lucky ones with that long, thick hair, you'll walk out of Jenna's with what appears to be their signature style included with the haircut -- those soft, bouncy curls. Jenna's Salon has a high-end vibe, despite its nondescript location on a residential/business strip in Watervliet (street parking only). It's clean, trendy (lots of grey and white and bling), and inviting (you'll be offered water, tea, or coffee), but you'll definitely be getting your money's worth. There's a reason I keep driving out to Watervliet, even though I don't live close by! read more

Possibly one of the best salons I've ever been to! The service is impeccable; everyone is so friendly and they make you feel really good about yourself (lots of compliments - I'm not complaining)! The salon itself is also beautiful. I really needed a color correction after a balayage disaster at another salon (just 3 weeks ago). I emailed Jenna for over a day before I came in for a hair consultation at 5:15 PM, which was done by Taylor. She gave me a quote and I asked if I could have my hair done right away instead of setting another appointment since I felt so insecure about my hair already, and they were able to get me in within 10 minutes! After seeing a post on their Instagram today, I couldn't hold this in any longer. I had been going to Jenna's for a few years, and bounced around among hairdressers based on availability and location. I had gone to Chloe a few times but have not gone back in over a year and a half because of how unhappy I was with the visits. I was always being double booked with Chloe jumping back and forth between myself and her other appointment (I understand it takes time to process), but then I was being finished at times by other available women, and if not, I was being rushed through by Chloe. I have very thick hair and left there after a blow dry with it being poofy and still feeling damp underneath. Now today I know they were making a joke with one stylist being new and slower than a more senior stylist, but I would much prefer the slower new stylist focusing on my rather than trying to squeeze multiple appointments into one. read more

I have been a client at Jennas Salon for several years when they were in Watervliet. I recently went to their salon in East Greenbush and was very happy with the stylist who cut my hair. Two weeks ago I made an appointment with the same stylist for Sept 6th. On Saturday Sept 2 while driving home from church my breaks went. Because this was also a holiday weekend I was unable to get an appointment to get my car repaired until this Thursday. I called the salon yesterday to cancel and told then what happened and explaining that I would call back to reschedule. Today I got a lengthy text from the salon telling me they have a policy in place ( where I don't know--never heard about it or saw it posted!!!} that if an appointment in canceled within 48 hours they charge 50% of what the service would have been PLUS in order to get another appointment they require you to leave your credit card number "ON FILE"! Never would I do this anywhere, anytime for anyone. I think this is outrageous and very poor customer service. read more

I was from out of town looking for a salon to get a simple hair cut. I found this gem on google and decided to give it a try. Jenna personally cut my hair and it was phenomenal. I almost fell asleep at the wash station. I didn't feel rushed or pressured into doing anything I didn't want to. The salon has beautiful updates and is super clean. There are girls who love hair and there are girls who LOOOOOOOOOOVE hair. Every single stylist here is the second girl i just mentioned. They LOOOOOOOOOOOVE hair. They live hair. I swear each and every one of the "designers" went to a school of customer service where they were taught to make every guest walking into this establishment feel like a model who could walk down a runway. I'm pretty sure most of us can't, but trust me, we don't fee like we CAN'T once we get in that chair. Jessie's my girl, but honestly you can't go wrong with any one of these passionate ladies. Can't say enough about this salon. My stylist Emmi is amazing! I love my cut!!!! I was greeted promptly by the receptionist upon entering and asked if I wanted anything to drink (coffee, tea, or water). Any staff that came through the waiting area was friendly and welcoming as well. The salon has recently been remodeled and is tastefully and stylishly decorated. The prices are reasonable and they offer a variety of services including facials. There is no parking lot, but I had no trouble finding on-street parking in front of the salon.
