So this review is more for the customer service I received when I placed an online order, but also about this store itself. I've always really liked Michael's. I feel that they have a nice selection and their prices used to be very reasonable. I opened a credit card with them because they send out a lot of coupons. But my recent experience with them was really horrible. I decided on December 7, and then I wanted to order one of the Grinch 6 foot Christmas trees. I wanted to surprise my boyfriend because I tell him he's always crabby and call him the Grinch lol they assured me it would be here between December 12 the latest the 14th. Well, the 12th came and went same for the 13th and 14th, so I reached out to them and I was told that my order was shipped, but apparently they didn't know where it was. It was put somewhere in the warehouse and nobody knew where it was and no one reached out to me I had to bombard them with emails and social media posts and then suddenly I just get an email saying I'll have it by this Saturday. Sorry, but that's kind of unacceptable that's only five days before Christmas what's the point? I really do try not to complain about petty things, but I just lost my mom in May and I'm having a hard time with the holidays as it is and it just really let me down that I try to do something that would make myself and my love smile, and this company just didn't even care about my order, but the funny part was they actually did ship me all the ornaments, but not the tree. Does that make any sense? As for the store itself, I do think the employees there are nice. I've never had an issue with them. The woman that helped me there the other day when I was trying to figure this out was wonderful. I should've gotten her name. She's a blonde woman middle-aged if there's a manager reading this, she was great, but I don't like about the store. Is it almost as a warehouse feel and the selection is pretty blah. Unless you make jewelry, they do have amazing choices for that. I don't mean to rant I know it's Christmas, but I really was looking forward to having this tree to surprise him. I guess at the end of the day I should just be grateful that I have a home and a Christmas tree on the way. We do already have one up, but I just wanted this extra one. read more

My friend and I were here Sunday to buy materials for projects. She's a teacher and often needs to buy supplies for her classroom. I was working on a homemade gift for someone. The Michaels in Wayne is a huge store with a lot of inventory. The store was organized and neat. This store has self-checkout here, as well. I recommend this Michaels. read more

Received a notification that my order was picked up while I was sitting at my desk at work today. I did not authorize anyone else to pick up my order. I inquired about my information being on the invoice attached to my order. The associate informed me that my email and phone number are on the slip. Are you serious? Hopefully corporate can make this right. I am extremely uncomfortable with this situation. Now someone out there has my number and email. I would not recommend shopping here, and if you do I would use caution - clearly they are irresponsible with customer information. read more

I needed to have photos framed and went to my local Michaels' . The woman that helped me was the same that patiently helped me two years ago with another project I needed framed. I had a lot of leg pain, and she could not have been more helpful or kind. Brought me out her stool so I could sit, and kept moving on the project. While she was measuring, another woman shopping said to me "This woman is a gem, she has helped me before." Could not agree more, wish I caught her first name, but I believe her surname is Matano? This store has a nice large parking lot. The employees working the frame dept are very friendly. The custom framing is a little expensive but overall they do a nice job and also place the hanging framework on the back for you. read more

I also noticed the cashiers are very quick as suppose to the other Michaels I have been where they are diddle daddling with one another. The parking lot is huge; I always like parking further from the store. Better to get that stretch in than fighting over the first few spots. read more

Only problem is, every time you need something the check out line in this place is horrendous. Complaining to the manager about the line seems to make them move even s l o w e r . . . Can't really find anyone for help.. and if you do they are already taken up with someone else. Make sure you don't miss it when you're coming here. They tend to carry very specialized knick knacks. I'd check this store out if your looking for something specific that you cannot find at another store. I visited the Wayne store 3 days ago and what a mess the store was! No one on the floor to help and the line to checkout was 11 people deep with only 2 registers open. The store manager was nowhere to be seen. You would think that they would open more registers even if the store manager had to pitch in! This was not my first trip here. Every time it's the same scenario. I'm very disappointed and will not be patronizing this store in the future. Management needs an over haul in this store. read more

Place is clean. Can get a little lost in the store if you don't know what you're looking for. Not a lot of people helping out on the floor. Good selection, not great. For someone who's just getting into crafts, I wish there were more people on the floor to help. Only complaint. Also should have more people on register. There were only two when I was there but the line wasn't too long. I can only imagine how long the lines get on weekends. As someone who used to run a front end I know the importance of having cashiers. Overall I would return here because it is really close. But I am definitely gonna browse around at other craft stores to see if they have a greater selection. There is a hobby lobby and a jo Ann close by as well. I made an online purchase at Michaels.com. The item arrived and it was not what I was looking for. In accordance with Michaels return policy, I attempted to return the product in store. However, the cashier would not do the return and the store manager would not either. I have the receipt for the item, the item is still new in the unopened box, and I am within the period of time to make the return. I attached a couple of pictures showing Michael's very clear return policy. I do not recommend shopping at a store where they don't even follow their own policies. My sister and I came here to take advantage of a custom framing deal: 60% off custom framing and an additional 15% off sale price. We arrived right at 4 pm on Thanksgiving Day (yes, you read that correctly) and were surprised to see others had been crowded around the door waiting for the store to open. My sister and I headed straight to the frame section, and George came by a minute later. He worked with us for 30 minutes and was very patient, friendly, and helpful. He offered some suggestions to frames and matting, answered our questions, and explained all the items from the price breakdown. The frame is expected to be finished in two weeks from the date of our order. I can't wait! As for the other sections of the store, there is a decent amount of stock frames, artificial flowers and a bunch of art supplies. The store was filled abundantly with holiday decor: ornaments, garlands, lights, etc. It did lack an area for fabrics, which is too bad because we would have purchased some if the selection was good, but it was non-existent! read more

i was here today buying frames. They have everything from crafts to artificial flower arrangements. I always purchase my seasonal door wreaths here. The best thing to do before going is to print out coupon. The only draw back is that you can ony use one coupon per person per item. read more

I love Michael's: no matter what your project is, you can probably find what you need for it here! They have everything from custom framing to arts and crafts supplies to baking supplies to wedding supplies and everything else in between. I could wander around for hours. They also offer occasional workshops or have craft classes for kids. And they're on to the coupon craze- check your local paper or sign up for their emails. read more

Earlier today I went to the Michael's on route three in Clifton and had a wonderful experience I bought all the things that I needed for an upcoming baby shower that I'm planning. At check out I was pleasantly surprised with a 25% off discount off of all my items. I then went to the Michaels on route 23 to get the same items.when I check out I asked for the same 25% off discount. I then ask for a manager to see if I can get the same discount that I received at route three. She was named Michelle and was very rude and told me that she was not going to honor the same discount that I received at the other Michael's I left there with less items at a higher price don't go to this Michael's at all they have horrible customer service there. read more

Great sale! Stocking up on organization for my craft room. The staff was wonderful at the checkout with my multi cart purchase.

I had to leave a review after today. I stopped in because Michael's always has the best prices for Christmas decor, but most of all I was looking for a nutcracker I could paint and customize as a gift. I asked an associate, who helped me all over. Then someone else came to help, and someone else. Almost every associate in the store was looking. Now a side note, my step mother and father lost everything in a fire this past year. Including years of collected nutcrackers. So these were a pretty important, sentimental gift. We finally found them (manager had them). But I wanted to say how friendly and helpful the staff was who were relentlessly looking everywhere for me. It's the best place to buy art and decorating supplies in the area, well maybe the only one. Still, the chaos inside is a bit stressful and makes it hard to find things. Prices are decent for most decorating supplies and it's a great place to buy cheap frames. I don't usually write reviews but my experience in the Wayne store was so poor, I decided to take the time. The design assistant was helpful and spent time. All the problems occurred when i picked up my framed piece. I got it home and saw that the brackets were visible. I took the picture back immediately, they offered to fix it. I refused as I wasn't paying almost $300 for a repaired frame. They reluctantly agreed to re frame. I was explicit that they needed to keep the backing off so I could verify it wasn't simply mended-then papered over. Another two weeks an no call from Michaels. I called them for status and they indicated it was in. I made yet another trip to pick up and the backing was on. The VERY rude framing manager, said she would not take off the backing to demonstrate to me the integrity of the frame. Instead, her solution was to credit me and give me back my art. So 4 weeks later, 3 trips to Michaels and I have no framed print. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. read more

I shop at the Rockaway Michaels as it it closer to work, but the one in Wayne is closer to my house. I have never met such terrible customer service as I have with this Wayne store. The employees are rude and clearly do not want to be there serving customers. I went the other day with my husband to purchase a few items. We were splitting the order so we each could use a coupon. When we got to the register, Marianne was ringing us up and snapped that it is one customer person. Well clearly I am standing there with my husband who is a customer. She snapped again when I informed her of both of us standing there and only for her to respond that "she is tired of this". Another day I was there, the employee wanted me to reach around to the register scanner to scan my own coupon and when I saw it did not work, she up-tightly told me I scanner my rewards coupon and not the store coupon. Did she want me to bag my own stuff and place the cash in the register also I think it is time this Michaels does some secret shoppers for their management to .see just how customers are treated and give these employees some training. I am done with this store and will now shop my craft supplies when I am home as Joanne Fabrics where they know how to be nice and treat a customer. read more
