    Grown up hot chocolate

Went here to pick up twine and masons jars for a little DIY winter holiday project. Grown-up hot chocolate. I had a coupon for 50% off one item and used it for a case of 12 mason jars that I got for under $8. The staff, although busy organizing Christmas decorations, was very helpful. Will be back to this store again for crafting needs.

Went back, prices are pretty good for some items, but other items are way too overpriced.

i go specifically to see al from cambridge. he has the older cards i need. her's a great dealerread more

While it has gone back and forth between two hotels recently and I prefer the Marriott location…read moreover this one, it is definitely a really great "almost weekly" show that will serve the needs of both vintage and modern collectors a like. Located inside the Best Western, there are two rooms and one sort of hallway for vendors to set up. As you enter, you pay the $2 entry fee which also gives you access to door prizes that normally pop off at 9:30 and noon. I even went after 12:00 one day and they let me in for free but be careful with this as some were already shutting down for the day. Doors open at 8:30 and you wouldn't believe how many people are out purchasing cards so early on a Sunday morning. I am a 99% vintage purchaser myself and there are plenty of booths offering up vintage commons, graded cards and raw at a fairly decent price. Pro tip: get to know the vendor, chat it up a bit and tell them you will be purchasing from them in bulk. They are more likely to give you a good deal. I had a $125 order one day and didn't have the cash for it all. While the vendor didn't offer up credit cards, the guy who runs the show was able to run it for me and the vendor gave me a much better deal in the process. I ended up spending over two hours with just with one seller. Plenty of patches, autos and the latest rookies to look through, I'd say the vendors are pretty evenly split between new and old. Parking can be tough but there are plenty of spots in the back. Remember, it is a functioning hotel so if it's a busy weekend, the lot is already almost full with visitors, on top of those coming for the card show itself. This is a long running show and the organization that goes into it shows through. Find them on Facebook to find out which week the show may be running. For example, they were off a few weekends the Pats were playing, or they closed early for the 1:00 games.

If you have anything you need I get info on in regard to coins, currencies, etc I would start with google image search. Stopped and spoke to someone about a couple of unique gold coins I had where each face was written in a different language that did not use the Roman/ Latin letters. They gave me their business card and asked me to email them a photo. It did take me a little while to email it over, but finally did and then crickets. Months later I went back and spoke to someone else and brought one of the coins with me. They photographed it and said that I should hear back soon and when I asked a couple of weeks and they said should be sooner, but that the experts were working on a big auction the next week so it may take a little longer. They took my info and said I would get back to me. I said I would stop back in a month. Went back around 6 weeks later and the person recognized me and said they hadn't heard back. I asked them to follow up and they said they would. Never heard back so I stopped in again. They said they would get back to me. Before going to them, I tried to use google translate I tried using google translate to figure out what it was and tried a few times after. After my last visit, I tried to use google translate, but accidentally used image search and found out exactly what it was, the history, the value and the scarcity...

The rest of the store had amazing stock - he showed me a 1923 Monroe Doctrine Centennial commemorative half-dollar coin, with two faces on the front (I'd never seen that) and on the back, North & South America drawn in art-deco fashion as two people - fascinating! I plan to go back soon, with my coin-collecting husband.

I recently called this dealer and asked if he would consider doing that. The employee who answered the telephone told me to come to the store to discuss this offer. When I arrived the store was empty except for the owner and another employee. After I explained my offer, the dealer brusquely responded "Not worth my time!" Thinking that he might have mistaken that I was referring to the valuable coins in the display case, I clarified that I only wanted him to consider trading any silver coins that did not have numismatic value (sometimes called "junk silver"). He repeated "Not worth my time!". I pointed to his employee and asked if that fellow could help me. The owner brusquely replied "He works for me. No!" Finally, I asked if he buys Kennedy half dollars that contain 40% silver. The owner said that he did -- but he would not tell me how much he pays because "the spot price of silver varies each day." (In fact, it generally varies by only 1-2%.) Of course this coin dealer has the right to decide how to conduct his business. But he was so unpleasant that I won't return there to buy or sell coins. I previously have told local bank tellers that if they encounter a customer cashing in a coin collection that they inherited, they should advise that person to go to the coin dealer in Stoneham and learn the value of that collection. I will change which dealer I tell bank tellers to use.
