Wall Hoop Craft class which was taught by Maddie. Maddie walked us through how to make the wall decor, as well as shared tips and tricks with preserving flowers. We took turns, cutting the supplies and picking out the dried flowers for the arrangement. Salt and Light provided light snacks and drinks which was a nice gesture. The class took about an hour and the wall decor turned out lovely. I look forward to attending my next art/craft class at Salt and Light Collective.

But what really sets them apart is how helpful and encouraging they are. If you're feeling indecisive or need inspiration, they always have great suggestions and creative ideas to get you started. This past Christmas, we took our 2 1/2-year-old, and the owner went above and beyond to help us create the most precious keepsake. She helped us smoosh our child's little hands onto a plate (which, if you've ever tried, you know can be a challenge!). Then, for just a small extra fee, their in-house artist hand-painted a reindeer with "antler hands" and "Merry Christmas" wording so perfectly--it looked like it was laser-etched or Cricut-cut, but she freehanded it and layered it three or four times to absolute perfection. It turned out SO cute. I cannot emphasize that enough! The selection of pieces they have for painting is actually useful--which I love. It's not just vases or teacups (though they do have those if you want them). They have things you'd actually use in your daily life, like yarn bowls (perfect if you crochet, knit, or do fiber arts), coaster sets, and all sorts of seasonal decor for Halloween, Christmas, Easter, and more. It makes the experience even better knowing that you're painting something fun that you'll also get to use or display in your home. Beyond pottery, they also offer other types of art, like mosaic glass projects. I didn't try that yet, but the examples they had on display looked really fun. I'd love to go back and give it a shot! The location is also fantastic. It's in a great part of town, where you can easily make a whole day of it. After painting, you can grab something to eat at one of the nearby restaurants, then take a stroll around the little duck pond just down the way. If you're like my husband and me and love all-day dates, this spot is a perfect starting point for a fun, relaxing day together. Whether you're looking for a solo creative escape, a fun date night, a get-together with friends, or even a special event like a bridal shower, this is the place to go! They even have a private party room that's slightly tucked away but still lets in gorgeous natural light--perfect for a small gathering. And to top it all off? Super easy parking! No stress, just a relaxing and fun experience from start to finish. Side note: This is NOT a paid review. I know it's long and maybe has that "sponsored" vibe, but I genuinely just love this place. I've been to a few different pottery painting studios before, and this one stands out because of the low-stress, welcoming atmosphere. No one is hovering over you, but they're always there if you need help. And when you finish your piece, they hype you up--but in a way that feels real and not forced. It's little things like that that make the experience so enjoyable. If you're considering going--do it! You'll have the best time.

You choose your colors, and layer them in such a way in a cup, and then pour them out onto the canvas and "swirl" the canvas around to produce the art. The staff was so helpful and did their best to help you create the masterpiece you wanted! You can do tumblers, and different size canvases and they even have special classes where you can make some of the more complicated specific art such as a beach with rocks.
