While they didn't have what I needed for this weird shaped/sized poster he's got, she did have some great suggestions and also offered custom framing as an option. We soon got down to business for the party, and the gentleman by the registers walked us up and down the aisles to get exactly what we needed, and even gave cost-saving options for some stuff. When it was time to check out, he set up my daughter's account and made sure she was getting all the available discounts. I saw a few pictures of crystals, but I did not expect him to have so many! There was a lot of beautiful Native American pieces that fascinated me. The gentleman at the counter is Cherokee and informed me that on Sunday he will be closed for two weeks due to practices. I was really surprised to see so many bigger crystal pieces. He even had some that are harder to locate (ex. chromium quartz). Ps. He has the cheapest tumble stones I have seen so far. They were $1.50 a piece or 5 for $6. He did have some others on another shelf that were more expensive due to the rarity, which is normal! The large shelf he had was filled with beautiful crystals. I also found a super cute plant table perfect for my hall by the front door. It matches my bench there perfectly. I was super excited. She told me that some vendors are also willing to negotiate a little on prices, depending on the items. I really loved one of the night stands and I was going to buy one, but I could not decide which would fit best. She suggested I take measurements and see which would fit better. She did not push me to make the buy. She told me to think it over night and if I were to decide to buy it, I could always call to hold it. She was super sweet and helpful. There is an array of fun and funky items for home, garden and gift giving to the person that has everything. I fell in love with all the re-purposed dresser drawers; they were so beautiful! The two women that were overseeing the shop for the day were very informative and pleasant. They are talented artisans that re-purpose much of the furniture that you'll see in the shop. Not only are they talented and friendly but they are generous as well. The owners and the employees give back to the community by donating furniture to Turning Point, one of the top woman's abuse shelters for the Macomb county area. You can even take a class so you can learn how to paint and re-purpose your own table, dressers, etc. The owner, Denise Schultz, provides music lessons to youngsters. This store and the people that oversee it are what is considered "the salt of the earth"; please come out and support them. I was initially going to Archivers, but since they are closing in a few weeks, I had to find a new scrapbook home, and I found this place. Since I last lived in Michigan many moons ago, there were at least a few stores around. Now, the market's shrunk and it's harder to find good quality places like this. This place has EVERYTHING, and their open on Sundays at 10AM. That's right folks, no more waiting until noon to scrapbook! They have a beautiful huge lab with a nice selection of die cuts, TONS of supplies, and wall to wall paper, , albums and other items as well. I was very impressed with the selection here, and the gal that helped me was super nice. They also have Monday night make and takes, along with crops on Friday nights for $15 which includes dinner. I don't know if they have Saturday night crops, but if they did, I would totally go. Go check this place out. Worth the trip, and you can scrap in their lab for free. I did some shopping when I was there, and loved it! Prices are fair and reasonable, great hours and easy location to find.
