After checking them out online, I was very excited to see what they had to offer. However, when I got there, I was quickly disappointed. There was only one employee who was busy appraising jewelry for a customer. This would not have been a problem, but it honestly seemed very unwelcoming how completely we were ignored. A simple "Welcome to our store. If you need anything I can help you momentarily" is nice, but I am not the type of person that gets huffy if I don't get greeted, but I was completely invisible for at least 5+ minutes while we waited by the display we were interested in trying to make eye contact from 5 feet away. I guess he realized we weren't going to leave, because he decided to help us. I was finally able to try on some pieces, but the lighting in there was so poor (unlike traditional jewelry stores that are very well lit) that I really had a hard time seeing the pieces I was trying on. I know vintage pieces were designed to be viewed in candlelight, but that's not the case anymore, and it would be nice to clearly see what I am planning on purchasing. Also, everything looked really nice online and had ratings of VS2+, yet in the poor lighting, there appeared to be significant flaws in the diamonds that were visible to the naked eye. To me, a lot of the pieces looked like they had taken a beating. Besides being a cold experience, at one point, while we were looking at one tray of rings, the guy pointed out that one was missing so he would know not to assume we stole something. What?!? Besides the fact that I apparently look like a jewel thief, are you going to seriously say that to a customer?? Maybe Pamela is what makes this store slightly friendly (she was not in this day) but the employee she had working there last Saturday, left me still hunting, thoroughly disappointed, and slightly insulted.

Most of the jewelry is past the $200 range (they do sell fine jewelry after all) but they have some under $100 stuff too. Pretty good deal.

Once I entered the shop, a lovely woman was working and asked if I was looking for anything in particular. I learned that she is a vendor, and others are as well. One other woman that has a shop on Mound used to also be a vendor as well. She gave me a lot of information and showed me around some pieces. I found an adorable stool perfect for our kitchen. I also found a super cute plant table perfect for my hall by the front door. It matches my bench there perfectly. I was super excited. She told me that some vendors are also willing to negotiate a little on prices, depending on the items. I really loved one of the night stands and I was going to buy one, but I could not decide which would fit best. She suggested I take measurements and see which would fit better. She did not push me to make the buy. She told me to think it over night and if I were to decide to buy it, I could always call to hold it. She was super sweet and helpful. She even helped me carry my items out to the car as well. Both pieces are painted beautifully, and they even sell the paint in store. I will 100% be back very very soon!

There is an array of fun and funky items for home, garden and gift giving to the person that has everything. I fell in love with all the re-purposed dresser drawers; they were so beautiful! The two women that were overseeing the shop for the day were very informative and pleasant. They are talented artisans that re-purpose much of the furniture that you'll see in the shop. Not only are they talented and friendly but they are generous as well. The owners and the employees give back to the community by donating furniture to Turning Point, one of the top woman's abuse shelters for the Macomb county area. You can even take a class so you can learn how to paint and re-purpose your own table, dressers, etc. The owner, Denise Schultz, provides music lessons to youngsters. This store and the people that oversee it are what is considered "the salt of the earth"; please come out and support them. The space is noticeably bigger than their previous one, which gives them more staging area and space to offer larger pieces of furniture, artwork, and clothing in addition to all the unique goodies they already carried within the store that are smaller scale. Everything here is extremely pricey, which is unfortunate for me given that there are many things I love from here, but I just simply can't justify spending exorbitant amounts of money on these sorts of homegoods and accessories too often. The products they carry are definitely geared towards the more affluent and those with lofty home design ideas, as they also have fabric samples and the like to help you design and customize your furniture and upholstery upon them in the back of the store too. The price tags make sense in the sense that I have not seen any of the products they offer in any other stores in the metro Detroit area, so there's nothing to compare their goods to. This is a great place to window shop or stop in to get inspiration for your home and to pick up a unique piece or two. I'm still thinking about the tatted up Albert Einstein piece of artwork (included in the photos!), which I love so much, but even just the print of it without it framed was already $70-80 and that's a hard price to justify even for hot Albert Einstein!
