Their selection of new kits is very deep and very well organized. The vintage kit selection is varied and reasonably priced. And bargains can be found in the back room if you know what you're doing. Staff is uniformly friendly; I am always greeted when I arrive. If I have a question or need help, it's always fast and efficient. if I just want to wander around and window shop, they don't seem to have a problem with that. This place is a real gem. A throwback to a time when shops like this dotted the twin cities. I haven't seen a shop like this since I used to shop at the old Moeller hobby shop in Robbinsdale. I dropped the truck off for repair, and while I understood repairs can sometimes take a while, the process took a very long time. Eventually, I received one phone call letting me know the repair had been completed. Unfortunately, after 90 days of not picking it up, I later learned that the truck had been surrendered. What's hardest for me to understand is that I never received a second phone call, voicemail, warning, or any kind of notice that my truck was about to be surrendered. Not one. What makes this especially frustrating is that over the years I've received numerous phone calls from the store over much smaller things -- special-ordered parts, minor items, and other routine pickups. So it's difficult for me to understand why there wasn't more effort made to contact me over something worth nearly $2,000 and carrying so much personal value. This hobby store means a lot to me personally. My late father used to take me there when I was younger, and some of my best memories with him came from spending time there together. These days, I love bringing my own two children there and sharing the same hobby with them. That's why this situation feels so devastating. It wasn't just an RC truck to me. It represented years of memories, time, money, and something meaningful I shared across generations of my family. I understand businesses have policies, and I'm not trying to attack anyone personally. I just truly wish more effort had been made before permanently surrendering something that clearly meant so much to a longtime customer. My old one has worn out and I couldn't find one in Office Depot or Staples, to just buy just a cover. I checked online and it said that Hobby Lobby likely carries them.. So my first visit today in search for a cover. And no, I couldn't find one, even though I came across other binder covers that could probably work...but they were too bulky :-( I was surprised how big this store was and that it carried a wide variety of merchandise though. Even though I didn't find the Day Planner Cover I was in search of, I did end up buying some office supply nick knacks that can come in handy someday.... I don't know if I will back, since this store is a little out of the way for me, but it was an interesting field trip!
