Michaels at Eastgate is located convenient and central location in Mayfield Heights. It's an especially easy stop if you're an efficient shopper looking to visit multiple businesses at once. There are multiple large retailers in this area - Target, Aldi, Marc's, and others. I recently stopped in at Michael's for my raffle building endeavor. LAYOUT, INVENTORY: The store is well organized and stocked. The layout resembles other Michael's stores. Aisles are labeled. There are quite a few obstructions in the aisle like random ladders without active stocking. Inventory is challenging to find. There is no staff on the sales floor to assist customers. To expedite my visit, I looked at every item on the website and its location. Not one of the my ten items was in the right location. All items were at least one aisle off. It was really inconvenient. A lot of the inventory is also damaged yet on the floor. For instance, wood nesting doll had significant cracks. I purchased multiple items like scissors (all wildly expensive and generic), faux pinecones, cellophane, and more. SEASONAL STOCK: You can currently find months worth of inventory at this store. Christmas (on sale), Valentine's Day (on sale), Easter, and spring. Whatever you're ready to celebrate is here! There is no general holiday inventory location so browse the entire store for festive pockets. SERVICE: The service was not strong at this store. There were no sales associates on the sales floor. There was one sales associate working the checkout and simultaneously assisting self-checkout customers. In addition, almost every customer with sales items experienced issues at checkout (mostly wrong prices). As a result, the line quickly backed up. The store would benefit from additional staffing due to such a central retail location. PARKING: Shared plaza parking is available. My visit to this Michael's was a little aggravating. I was not pleased with my inability to find inventory in the right aisles. I could not quickly shop due to the lack of sales associates to assist. I'd rather visit other craft stores for a more personalized and supportive visit. read more

Let's hope that I don't get sh*t for saying that I am a fan of Michaels. I truly don't like going into stores like this because I really have no need for anything in these stores but my most recent experiences were a delight. A couple times during the holidays I was in need of some frames so I decided to check out what Target and BBB had to offer. Usually I don't like shopping around but because there were so many choices in the SOM / Mayfield area, I figured why not. Let's just say, without all the rambling details, that I ended up at Michaels each time and left with exactly what I needed for much cheaper then what I would have paid elsewhere. The Som center store / in Cleveland Ohio cannot keep staff. I called about a framing job that I paid for over 3 weeks ago, either there's no one working in that area, or there's no one working in that area. So today I called several times only to get the phone hanging up on me 6 times. I walked into Michaels, on Mayfield Road,, to have a canvas framed for my grandson and waited for the CSR to complete what she was doing in the back. I wasn't in a hurry so waiting a few minutes wasn't an issue. The CSR approached me and asked if I needed assistance. I told her yes and we began to discuss needing framing for my artwork. A couple came up behind me, and she acknowledgw them,, but stopped what she was doing for me, and asked if they needed help. They said yes, and SHE STOPPED helping me to go over and started to assist them! I was shocked but gave it a minute as to not assume she just did what I thought she did! I told her how rude was that and that she should have finished up with me before moving on. She ignored me and the couple looked so uncomfortable and even said to her, you should finish up with her! She ignored them as well and kept assisting them! I asked for a manager and was told he is in on Monday! I will be reaching out to corporate! This is more than unacceptable and it will not be tolerated! I will not give this location any business and will tell everyone I know to not support this location. read more

I am a Girl Scout Leader and went to Michaels in search of specific items to create headdresses for our Troop's annual "World Thinking Day" celebration. My granddaughter and I search the store for visors which were required to create the traditional headdresses for the country of Brazil. We had already found everything except for the visors. I asked a clerk (whom I noticed on the floor working) if she recalled where I might find the visors. She stated they would be one aisle over from where we were. I checked, and no visors. I then noticed the same employee and informed her there were none. She went to the spot and verified that the store no longer carried them, although, she would check another Michaels location, which she did. She actually reserved the number of visors I needed, picked them up at that location the next day and dropped them off at the store where I frequently shop. I explained to her that she had went far beyond what I was accustomed to regarding service. Normally, a clerk would have pointed to where they may be and that would have been the end of the service. Lorie K., at the Eastgate Shopping Center, Mayfield, Ohio, location, deserves a accommodation for her outstanding service and securing customer satisfaction! I have always liked shopping at Micheals but now, it means even more and I have already told everyone I know what a great experience this was and how much it meant to me. I'm loyal to JoAnn's, but I still like to go to Michaels every now and then. I stopped here after some adventures with a friend, looking for some yarn to start her foray into crocheting. We found some yarn and, of course, started finding other things we didn't actually need like tiny little bread pans and leftover Thanksgiving decor. I spent pennies and got some extra supplies for my craft corner, so I can't complain. Though, the cashier was very obviously bored and the other workers were wandering around gossiping about who's going to jail this week, etc., so that wasn't so pleasant. read more

I am giving this Michaels five stars because they had lots of cheap stuff, the store was well stocked at the line moved fast. The employees were also very friendly. It's fun to go into michaels and look at the really cheap sale stuff you don't need. I got some really cheap ditties like packs of cards for 50 cents. Good michaels - well stocked. read more

I see previous reviews are years old. I just left this store and my review is because of the cashier. The store is neat and clean. I was looking for some previously purchased summer items but they are put away, its still summer. Ok, that is the same case in most retail stores. As I was approaching checkout, the cashier was screaming at another employee "don't play me" and other nasty comments. To me she was rude and unpleasant and because of her I will not go back to that store. I had a similar experience moments before at another store in shopping center. I must admit, I shop here over JoAnn Fabrics because of Michael's location. But I just went in to purchase a Cricket. I had to find three different assocaites who knew why they were on the shelf with empty boxes and WHAT they were. Seriously, can you know something about your products. One person helped and knew where the cartridges were just when I gave up hope. Took way too long to bring one up. Then, I went to Joann's - same thing, same day. There's was $80 cheaper!
