They have a huge selection of model paints, board games, scale model kits, strange and unusual DIY kits, etc. They have a large indoor drifting track complete with staging areas, work areas, and a huge selection of parts and accessories. I visit this store frequently. It is one of the best RC Drift Tracks I have been to and I have driven at a lot across the USA. The store keeps a decent stock of tires, paints, bodies, and hop up parts for RC Drifting and Crawlers. read more

Disappointing. My first visit to the store and I was disappointed. If your hobby is trains, model cars, and a few other different hobbies, I suppose you would be in heaven. There was nothing in the store for hobbies that I enjoy. I did not care for how the store was laid out. Took the little nephew shopping because he likes hobbies and it keeps him out of mischief. Some hobbies aren't cheap, but sometimes worth the investment. He wanted to get either a remote control helicopter or rc airplane and all I could think about was grabbing some money out of my wallet and setting it on fire as it burned up in seconds: --- Nephew: "Hey uncle Conrad, watch me do this." Toy: ***CRASH*** Nephew: "Whoa." Me: ...sigh... --- Thankfully, we were able to convince him to get some rc WWII replica tanks for some epic ground war battling. A set included two tanks for about $50.00. The guy tried to upsell me on their batteries because the controllers needed 4 each, but I didn't feel like taking out a personal loan. read more

Long time customer, bought a rc car there about 22 days ago,they charged me 100.00 more then what price was, i did not catch it till my credit card statement came, went up there to get a refund, and they said they could not help me, took my receipt to show them, they had wrong price on box, and they even said they did, showed them the price on web , said they could not help me, and they would not give me phone numbers to the higher ups, i know i messed up by not checking receipt before i signed, but really, i hope they are happy with the 100.00 , because they will never see a dime from me again, i have spent 1000s there never again read more

Bricks and mortar hobby shops are going away, thanks to the internet. That being said, there is still a need for a full service location where you can walk in for that impulse buy or to get the supplies that you forgot to buy online. This location, while it is part of a national chain is simply the most well stocked, full service hobby shop in Northeast Ohio. It is worth the 40 minute drive for me. Trains, planes, rockets, trains, R/C, plastic models, games and more. They also have generally helpful and knowledgeable staff. If you are a hobbyist, or just curious, this is a great place to go. read more

Buyer beware there is no "return" policy. Apparently it's posted in the store, but who's looking for that when their there to make a purchase??? How about letting the customer know that as soon as they make their purchase they are locked in!!! We bought an RC helicopter, decided not to keep it, returned it in less then 24 hours, fully functional, no damage to product or packaging, and they would not refund, only in-store credit. Ridiculous! I get it if its not resellable, but this product was. Be 100% sure of the product you are purchasing before you buy it, or else, it's to late!! read more

I have had numerous issues with several products they represent that I had purchased at there retail center on Plaza Blvd. I have contacted customer service at that specific location and spoke to a number of different employees on various occations,literally got no where!!!! Was told the RC professional would call me back and of course never did! I had asked to speak to management several times. Seems as if every employee calls them selves "THEE MANAGER" They all seem as if its a joke, some sort of laughing matter, not when you spend thousands on your kids toys! They all seem to never be able to resolve any of these issues i have ever had with any of the products I have purchased! The last purchase of over $300 was a simple repair that lasted literally 4 minutes of run time then burned up (caught fire) I asked to return this specific purchase and was told they will not return the merchandise due to my behavior (seriously?) I was also aksed to exit the store immediately in front of numerous customers. WOW is this how you resolve matters? I had filed a complaint with Hobby Town USA corporate and was told I would be reached within 24 business hours and of course no one ever called me back. I have had it with this obsurd kind of customer service, the products they represent are not some inexpensive throw away toys, they are very expensive with zero customer service. I have been a avid RC 1/10 scale racer for many years with always believing in buying local, but when I moved to the area, I had a rude awakening trying to shop at Hobby Town in Mentor. They are VERY rude there, thinking that since they work there, they are Gods gift to RC's. They treated me like I was an inconvenience to them when I was looking to drop some money after a long winter season. Too bad for them. And I have been back there to buy emergency stuff for the last minute buy. I do NOT recommend this place AT ALL. Get some real RC hobbyists to work there, then maybe they can respect those that might not be in there to buy the Tyko cars. There are PLENTY of online stores that will actually GIVE you a discount and back their products without going through hoops. Read other reviews (Yahoo etc..) on this place in Mentor. Good luck selling your handbuzzers, and model glue Hobbytown, when you need the friendly (knowledgeable) personal help today instead of online buying, you've already lost.
