I never knew about this place! I was browsing at half price books and they suggested this place a few doors down. Wanting to see if I could sell an old gaming console, I went in to check. The process is pretty easy. They ask for your ID and phone number. Then contact you once they are done examining and can make an offer. You have the choice to stay in the store to browse or come back later when they are ready. I opted to stay and browse the aisles. Wow! I was surprised at all the various things they carry! Nostalgic items like Mario Brothers, StarWars, Beanie Babies, Holiday Barbie, DVDs, CDs, VHS, BlueRay, CDs, Records, and even figurines and hot wheels cars. The time can easily pass as you walk down 'memory lane' and see the different items for sale. I finally got my offer, which was decent (honestly more than I expected). You have the option to get cash (lower amount) or a store credit that is higher than cash payout. A great spot to gather your old entertainment items and exchange them for cash on the spot! Located in a strip center plaza with parking lot, it can be easy to miss. On a Saturday afternoon, it wasn't very busy. Employees were keeping busy restocking, but helpful when needed. read more

Really missing days of old when Sam Goody and other major record stores where open. Miles and miles of music. From vinyl to cds. That was what I waS looking for when I walked in or at least that feel. It is riding season and I needed some new music. I pull up to the light blaring songs from billy joe. I'm a real bad a$$. Went In. To the store to purchase some cds. I was looking for sister act 1 and 2. Just wanted something g spiritual and funky. Good mix. Lauren Hills voice is awesome I enter the store and I am immediately greeted by the staff. I'm feeling the vinyl record store vibe. Than I found my cds and went to the front and before I can say can you help. This kind gentleman looks up from what he was doing and asked if I needed help. I said yes and he asked for some one to assist me. Went back to the front paid and left. Storing my exchange purchase in my saddle bags and about to head out. When another employee from the exchange was walking into work. He had the coolest doc martens on. Only a youthful person can pull off that look and he wore it well. From one boot love to another. This place rules. They recently remodeled the store so now it's even bigger than before. I have been shopping here for many years to find deals on video games. And deals are what you get! This year, I'm picking up Xbox 360 games and gear for my kids while the masses are buying, and paying top dollar for, Xbox One and Playstation 4 gear. Staying 1 step behind in the video game scene saves hundreds of dollars. My kids are still young, however, so I can get away with this for now. If you want to sell your old system and buy new, this is a great place to go. They've got it all. read more

I sold a console to this store and did the trade value, and employee gave me the receipt for the trade and I asked if I needed to hang onto it if I wanted to come back another day. He said "No we can just look it up" so assumed it was fine. I go back a few weeks later and decide to pick some stuff up and then tell them I have trade credit. They ask for the receipt and I told them that I was told they could look it up. That wasn't true, and i didn't have the receipt so I initially thought my trade in was lost (this got figured out, i just had to go get it and come back). That isn't the problem however, the problem was the guy i was talking to about the situation was WAY more prominent about finding the person I first talked to so he could fire them. He kept asking for descriptions and names, but was brushing off the fact I couldn't use my trade value. He kept making it a point that he wanted to know who it was, I started to feel bad for the kid who helped me cause he obviously just made a mistake, I didn't wanna get this guy fired at all. It was extremely unpleasant and really reflects how the workers there are treated. One mess up and it becomes a witch hunt to find the employee who did it and fire them, as well as get a customer involved and to basically confess who did it? It was so wild and uncomfortable. Please treat your employees better with respect and dignity. read more

Love the selection and appearance of the stores, but they will low ball you hard when trading stuff in (sometimes depending on who takes your trade). Even if you're just trying to get store credit. This has ruined my experience at the stores on multiple occasions, especially at the Sandusky and Elyria locations. So much so that I refuse to shop Sandusky and have almost reached that point with Elyria. It's like pulling teeth to try and get a reasonable offer sometimes, and it's very unpleasant. read more

The used music selection here is paltry. I was close to giving this a 1 star. There are about a dozen $1 boxes of used music CDs here, but they were all crap for my tastes [hip-hop, trip-hop]. Most of the stuff in the used CD boxes were from the 90s and late 90s teen pop, and promo copies of 1990s 'alternative' bands were signed by warner brothers when warner brothers and any other big label signed any band claiming to be from Seattle. Zero hip-hop in the $1 boxes. The shelved new/used cd selection in hip-hop was average, a bunch of albums and literally about 5-6 mixtapes. I didn't see any vinyl in the store as well. They did have a selection of used DVDs as well, I didn't check them out. No reason for me to come here. read more

Love the exchange! I'm not usually looking to trade things so I can't comment on that experience. However I love their selection of games, music, and movies! I built up my N64 collection over a few months from stopping in here. Also I'll often pick up used movies and music for much less than buying it new. The staff can be hit or miss. If the store is dead, they'll take the time to help you... but when it's busy, it can be awkward to have to flag someone down to open the glass for you, then stare at you tapping their foot as you browse the selection. The prices are slightly higher than other similar stores (Buy Backs, Big Fun, etc), but they have a much better selection. If you want it, they have it. Overall summary... great selection for a music, movie, game collector... staff can be hit or miss. .. priced slightly higher than competition, but much better selection. read more

Love the store. If they don't have what I'm looking for in stock they can usually order it for me. The manager and all the employees have always been very helpful and friendly to me. Their prices are fair. There are a couple of store policy changes that I wish would change. If they don't have the item in the store the only way they will order it in would be if you physically come into the store to have them order it. They will not permit a request over the phone, it would make it easier for me if I could order the item over the phone. In addition when you request an item to be ordered in I would be nice to be able to pay for it at that time and be able to pick it up at your convenience. Under the store's current policy you can't pay for the item until it arrives at the store, and once it comes in they will only hold it 14 days. I have also done business with BUYBacks. BuyBacks policy also requires you to be in the store in order to order an item. However they require you to pay for the item at the time of order. You can have the item shipped either to the store or a place of your choosing. If you have it shipped to the store they will hold it until you come to pick it up since you have already paid for it. For some reason the atmosphere in this Exchange feels much different than any other location. Any time I come in the workers look unpleasant and act like I am disturbing their entire day by going up to the counter to inquire about products. When I have items to sell off they give me the absolute bottom dollar that they can offer. I never walk out of there with anything significant. Kind of discouraging and makes me feel like they are ripping me off. There are better places in the area that are locally owned and provide much better service. Or travel to the Lakewood or Coventry locations and they treat their customers much better. read more

They had the music up WAY TOO LOUD! I understand it's a used CD store and all, but I couldn't hear myself think. When asked if I needed help finding anything, my response was more in a "yell" form. I simply wanted to know if they had a certain gaming system. It was unpleasant and I didn't stick around for long. Had the music not been so loud, I may have been able to tell you more about their selection of products. Unfortunately, the loudness of the music drove me crazy enough to exit the store quickly. I have only one demand when visiting the better half's hometown -- if we're going to be in Cleveland, I need at least one trip to The Exchange. A trove of cheap used CDs, DVDs and games, I'm guaranteed to drop a significant amount of dough when I visit, but I'm also guaranteed to walk out with more swag than I can easily carry. Honestly, I don't know what I'd do if I had one of these nearby; any savings would probably be undone by the sheer amount of shopping I'd do there -- no easy feat when you consider The Exchange's often rock-bottom prices. read more

Honestly I love what they have done with the new store layout. I think they are way more organized and spread out. It is not so cluttered and cramped anymore. You can now find things with ease and when you do need help the staff is always friendly and very helpful. They also have a wide range of things the store now like collectibles and records you cant find anywhere else. Will not buy from here anymore. I highly suggest you do not shop at this exchange. I've shopped at every used video game and movie shop in the county and this one is by far the worst. The service has been better of late but they have a terrible return policy and they do not work with the customer. Very shady business here, and they could care less about their customers. Cheap used and new video games. Music. Movies. Cool trinkets like video game and movie action figures and bobble heads. Lots of electronic accessories. I go mostly for video games, and they're the best. The games are very reasonably priced, you can trade or sell for a steal sometimes, they have stacks and stacks of games for every system and console along with accessories. If you get something that doesn't work right they will be very kind to you and will go out of their way to help you and get you what you're looking for. I once got a LoZ Minish Cap game there that would not save correctly- gave me a replacement that worked and apologized. I bought a Professor layton game for 12 bucks- traded it after i beat it two weeks later and got 9 dollars in store credit for that game alone. Basically paid 3 dollars for the game. On christmas i purchased a PS3 and an employee named keith gave me Little Big Planet for free as a christmas present to me. Another time i was looking for Pokemon Crystal, and when they didn't have it they called another exchange store that was close to somewhere i was headed later that day and i just walked in and the other store had been waiting for me with the cartridge. Great merch, great employees, great customer service, great prices- Great store. The only problem i ever had is that the store is small and often crowded, but it's such a great store that it's no wonder they'd be crowded sometimes. read more
