The entrance on Detroit.

First stop on the record store day today, and they have a ton of the releases. I was able to find a limited release record I've been looking for! Mask up and shop ! Parking was easy on the side streets. Tons of alternative, rock , indie, pet punk reissues and new releases. You will not be disappointed.

My Mind's Eye was one of the targeted shops I identified in advance of our trip to Cleveland. Another solid, solid shop. Definitely worth the stop! Their store was a little dark (we went during the daytime), but the selection was well worth digging through. Their setup is a touch confusing as they do not mix new LP's with used ones. Their new arrivals (used) bin is found at the front left of the store upon entering. Saw lots of really good titles at good prices. Going deeper and digging elsewhere in the store, there were some significant items I'd never seen in public before (some expensive records were locked up, others found in a bin by the counter), so high marks for those! I did find their selection during my visit to be a touch light on hip-hop/soul. Other reviewers noted it is more of a punk/metal/rock store, so it makes sense. Pricing was solid. Nothing seemed to out of the ordinary, price-wise. Parking was pretty easy to find. Metered, if I remember correctly. Definitely worth the stop. I'd recommend checking them out for a well-spend dig if your travels take you to Cleveland. Cheers!

Any record store that has a large selection of Townes Van Zandt knows good music.

Not open even though hours say they're open at noon on Sunday. I'm an out of towner so it's unfortunate that I was unable to shop.

Hands-down, the best vinyl shop in all of the Cleveland area for anything underground, rock, punk, hard-core, metal, or Indy related.

Love the new place. Same things spread out and curated…read more So much to see all midcentury treasures. Furniture to smalls. A nice selection albums. Lots of jewelry some vintage wear as well. They need an even bigger place with more parking. You won't find great values but table sets with chairs were very reasonable.

Flower Child is a thrift store in Lakewood. The store is currently having a closing sale (70% off…read moreeverything). They will be opening in a new space in November 2025. In its current state, Flower Child is walking into a retro basement that has decades of treasure! LAYOUT/INVENTORY: The store has two levels with multiple rooms of treasure. Both levels have similar merchandise - home goods, kitchen tools, some furniture, abundance of accessories, clothing, vinyls, and some interesting international decor. Just when you think you ran out of rooms, there are more rooms of treasure to browse. I especially loved the basement. Every room is a treasure hunt! If you wear petite sizes, this is a treasure trove of vintage clothing. You'll find tees, dresses, sweaters, and pants. The clothing is casual and functional. Check out all the clothing rooms on the main level and basement. VALUE: The discounts on merchandise of 70% is a great value. However, the initial prices are quite high considering the quality. Some of the clothing and items are very well loved. I don't see myself paying full prices for the items to be extremely honest. SERVICE: The staff was very nice to customers during checkout. There was a lot of excitement about the upcoming store move. They staff was always very busy. Personally, I wanted to ask about the pricing for a folk pin I was eyeing. There was no one to ask so I eventually gave up. I'm sure the service is more attentive during the regular days. PARKING: I was surprised to find a pretty large parking lot at the back of the building considering the location is in Lakewood. Amazing if you're carrying home a lot of treasure. I would recommend Flower Child to guests who enjoy digging for treasure. You definitely need maybe an hour to focus on each room without getting overwhelmed. I look forward to checking out the layout of a new store!

If you're looking for anything resembling popular music, don't come here. You will be disappointed…read more If you're looking, however, for dance, electronic, or experimental music, this is the right place. The owner is, shall we say, a bit prickly. He sized me up the second I walked in. Because I've been going to record stores for years and have encountered music snobs more than once, this amused me more than anything. Once I pulled out a DJ Stingray (legendary techno DJ from Detroit) album, he knew I wasn't a noob. He got further confirmation when I asked about some Fennesz (amazing Austrian experimental guitarist) albums. Once you get him going about music, he warms up. Bent Crayon has very hard-to-find titles like Drexciya (iconic sci-fi techno duo from Detroit) reissues, the latest from Perlon (dance music label in Berlin), the Japanese composer Ryuichi Sakamoto, or other left-field music. Bent Crayon is mostly vinyl but also has a solid selection of CDs. Fair warning: The corner shelves of experimental music are alphabetized but the rest of the store follows a mysterious organizational logic. In other words, you have to dig, not scan. I bought reissues of Stingray's Aqua Team 2, Drexciya's Harnessed the Storm, and Cluster's Zuckerzeit (Cluster was an electronic music duo from Germany who worked a bunch with Brian Eno). Bent Crayon is not for everyone, but it's still pretty rad.
