But this was tempting, and I did get a Snap-Tite for Kid K. Leaning towards trains, but also plenty of car and plane and armor kits. Lots of Playmobil stuff. Other toys and collectibles. Reasonable prices considering. Good selection, friendly service. Small amount of parking out front, and I think (hope) the side lot is shared with the bike shop- easy to miss the pull-off from High. Let me start with that when it comes to my hobby pursuits, when I need something I prefer to buy…read morelocal! On my last visit to this store, upon walking in there are three other customers in the store, one is at the check out listening to the clerk tell war stories, one is with the owner, who is helping him with a RC truck, the third is browsing with his son. The clerk then tells the owner he needs help, who gets up from work bench to check in with father and son, on his way back I ask about an item and am told " if it's not on rack we don't have it". Ok, so I move on to another area and continue to shop, and again walk over to the owner at the work bench to ask about a second item in a line of product they carry. For the second time I'm told " if it's not on the display we don't have it!" Nothing about we'll be getting more in, we can order it, Nothing! So I took my items to the check out where the clerk, still telling stories to same customer as when I walked in, the clerk tells me "Just a minute " and goes back to Bull Shi!!ing with the guy in line who had been checked out and had his items ready to go. After waiting for a minute, I put my items on the counter and walked out of the store. I then drove 30mins to another hobby store and bought the items I was looking for. As I stated in the beginning of this review "On my last visit to this store" I will not shop there again and will tell all of the members of the two clubs "hobby related" of the poor and rude service received at RC Hobby Center Paul G.

Anyway. They open at 11 I think. Standard chain hobby shop, but says locally owned so I assume franchised. Good selection of plastic kits, RC supplies, toys, paints, etc. Reasonable prices (though far more expensive than when I was building.) Some nice markdowns.

Unless you are into RC or Gundam, don't even bother. The selection of model kits keeps getting…read moreworse, the paint section is a complete mess and the attitude of the staff is standoffish at best. They used to be better, but Angola has a much better shop with population of only 10,000 people. I would rather drive an hour to Angola than 20 minutes to Phil's.

Like Joann's they seem to be aiming more towards home decor and not so much craft supplies. I feel like a couple areas have been downsized to make way for more home decor. This store could also use a little updating. Service is usually okay. Most staff I encountered were friendly and helpful. The prices on some things are a little high and I hate that they don't offer coupons and now you have to wait for certain things you need to go on sale before they are even affordable.

I came to Hobby Lobby because I needed to buy some Greco-Roman style columns. I had two in my old…read morehouse, and they didn't survive the move. One came completely broken. I had two busts of Greco-Roman gods that i would display on those columns, Apollo and Diana/Artemis and I wanted to do the same in the new house I moved to. So began my desperate search to find replacements. Almost all the stores I found, the replacements would have been into the hundreds of dollars. I was lucky to find them available in Hobby Lobby for about $20! Yeah that's just a fraction of the price. I called the store, and I was quickly answered by a helpful store associate. She advised there were plenty of columns for sale in the store. She said she didn't think I had anything to worry about not getting them but that she would hold two for me. She actually did! Wish I would have kept her name. Anyway she helped me get the columns into my cart. I then looked around and did some more shopping. Plenty of decor for both inside and outside of your home can be found here. I may return again to purchase more items. I happily went to the cash register, and added some chocolate coins to my purchase. After payment, I happily exited the store with my roman columns while eating chocolate. Excellent store experience!
