I've never seen so many Settlers of Catan or Ticket to Ride expansions, but if you need them, they're available! They also just have so many games that I would have never seen before, so I always make sure to have a while to look around to find new things. Second--everyone who works there is SO GREAT and very, very knowledgeable. I can't tell you how much more exciting this makes the experience because they are willing to spend time and give options based on what you're looking for. During my last visit, I got to share some of the games I really liked, and we vowed to come back and share about our experiences next time! Love this place. Long Version: I had been looking at getting into RC cars for awhile and had settled on a brand and model on my own after extensive research. Traxxas Bandit for $189 seemed perfect for me. It was reasonably priced with good standard performance and features. I was looking online but everywhere I saw one, it said "could take up to 10 business days for delivery" and I really wanted it sooner so I started looking around in town. A different store had one and they were nice enough but I didn't know the $189 didn't come with battery/charger and wasn't quite ready to spend the cash. When I WAS ready, I decided to call a Hobby Town instead because the other store was a little dirty and while the employee answered my questions, they weren't very personable and when I thanked them for their time but said I wasn't aware of the full cost and I'd have to postpone my purchase, they just kind of stared off and didn't say anything. Like they were annoyed I didn't spend any money after I took up only approximately 5 minutes of their time. Not the worst customer service but still far from the best. Norm at Hobby Town however was wonderful from the beginning. I perused their site to make sure they had what I wanted and called to confirm. Norm answered with an enthusiastic and upbeat attitude, answered all my questions, reserved the unit behind the counter for me and said "see you later" in a way that seemed he was actually excited to see and help me when I got there. When entering the store it was the same way, happy greeting and warm smile. I explained who I was and again he seemed excited. This made me feel very good about my choice to purchase here instead. Again he answered all my questions, made recommendations when asked for them and was even nice and acknowledged my children when they asked or told him something. We left the store smiling and excited to get my Bandit home and couldn't have been more pleased with our experience. Thanks again Notm, I'm sure I'll be speaking to you again soon!

Recently though, I ordered a packet of 8 HO scale squirrels for my layout. They arrived and 2 were somewhat squirrel-like and 6 were just lumps. I requested a refund and there was no "sorry you were disappointed" or ant response to the fact that their image on the site in no way matched the item I received. They also went with how difficult it is to make realistic 1:87 scale squirrels but I have small dogs and even a pair of skunks on my layout that look dandy. I am a senior citizen with no car and would have had to walk several blocks--difficult for me--and cross an 8 lane road twice to return these stupid squirrels/lumps. I explained this and after some back and forth they offered a store credit for the 9 dollar item which still left me on the hook for the 11 dollar shipping. Not the end of the story! They actually sent an email asking for a review! I told them they would not want my review no and that I was done with them. Their response? Sorry you feel that way and after we bent our policy to give you the credit. I include their image from the site and a pic of that I got.

And when I need professional help, I visit LS Scrapbook Boutique. She has an answer to every one of my dumb questions: How do you glue such a tiny strand of paper? Was that made with a Sizzix? What ink is that? How do I color that? She has monthly crop-ins. That's where you do scrapbooking or card making for 2 days straight. She has weekly classes. She has oddities that can't be bought at Hobby Lobby. She has lay out 12/12 kits. It literally is a scrapbook boutique.
