I had no choice but to stop in this Hobby Lobby today. They had limit smaller sizes on the blank canvas shoes. Both of the 9-10 clearly had stains from whatever probably people trying them on although the one pair definitely looked like a set in stain. These were the only two available for purchase. I asked if there was a discount possible since they also will not receive anymore for 1-2 weeks. The manager told the cashier they would discount 1 pair 30% off because I can wash them at home. If I had another choice I would have just tossed them and left. I did YOU a favor purchasing these but it's really unacceptable. Hopefully I'm able to cover these spots on both pairs. Poor customer service every time I visit this store. I spend thousands of dollars in Hobby Lobby every year. The least they could have done was discount both pairs because maybe I wanted them just to be white?! read more

Probably the dumbest policy that exists in the business world related to buying off the shelf vs. "custom" framing. Even they can't articulate or rationalize why you pay 50% less for an off the shelf frame once they add a hangar or mount your poster/picture. etc. You pay full price for the frame if you DIY it. This is really not a criticism of the store, but the website. The search engine is really terrible. I've been trying to look find the wooden wall photo frames that I bought in the store and have tried everything! It brought up 5 wooden frames and 15 other things. I got wooden ornaments, wooden beads, wooden boxes, even wooden gnomes. I love gnomes, but you get the idea. No matter how I switched the words, I never found the many, many wooden frames that I know they carry. In this age of great search engines, surely you can do better! read more

Shopping here is not the worst experience I ever had but pretty close. I went there looking for some craft materials to use for Gaslands cars (a game where people take Hot Wheels or similar sized toy cars and mod them Mad Max style.) Hobby Lobby stocks plastic sheets that look like metal texture that people can put on their cars to make them look armored. I have no idea what the stuff is called. I go in there and ask a clerk on the floor for plastic sheets with patterns on it. I explain what the patterns look like and all she can tell me is "I have no idea what you're talking about" and another clerk refers me to glass patterns in stained glass. I said "plastic." I did not say anything at all about glass. I find a manager and explain a little more what I am looking for. I guess unless I know the exact name of a product, the employees in this store are completely useless. He was of absolutely no help. I go home and find what I want online (they are called Diamond Plate Embossed Pattern Sheets), call back to the store and find out they DO carry them. I understand that "plastic pattern sheets" may not have been the right description, but really, the manager should be able to work better with a customer. I asked if they had a computer where we could look it up on their website or I could show him what I meant. He said no. I guess going the extra mile and taking his smart phone out of his pocket and using it to help a customer was asking too much from a Hobby Lobby manager. Instead, he would rather see me go home and waste more of my time. Sorry if I don't know the exact names of all the products before I walk into the store and I am a stupid customer. Sorry I am not an expert in everything Hobby Lobby carries. But I am even more sorry Hobby Lobby doesn't train their employees better to know where stuff is in their own store, including their managers, and does not equip them them or empower them to use a computer or at least their smart phones for business needs. When I called up there an employee told me they were not supposed to have their phones out on the job. Yeah, I am pretty sure the policy was written so they aren't wasting time doing personal stuff on their phones while on the clock. Using their phones to actually help a customer should not be against corporate policy. If it is, then this isn't a corporation I need to shop at. read more

My guess is anyone shopping at hobby lobby is not going to give one hoot about any negative reviews. This is the very first time I ever went in one and I've been in several they're all the same generic box stores. They have always been clean the employees have always been nice. I was actually approached by three different employees, just meandering through the isles. So they're very attentive they were very nice the store was really clean. Personally I don't see what all the hoopla is about hobby lobby it's cheap crap from China. No thanks I'd rather spend extra money and go to pier one or cost plus and get stuff that looks a little nicer than plastic painted animals or cheap ceramic plaster junk. read more

Their prices seem lower than Michaels,esp with their coupons. Just beware of the witch in the fabric dept. I guess her whole life has been all about fabrics.I went in,knowing exactly what I wanted. This is the new and improved Hobby Lobby in the area, as the old one on 291 and Langsford closed in the fall of 2011 and - as if overnight - a new location opened in the old Hen House facility a mile north on 291. Though I am a huge fan of the Hobby Lobby in Independence by Bass Pro Shop, this one is nearly just as good and big. I love this store for lots of reasons: great location, lots of parking, CLEAN facility, nice-ish staff, and TONS and tons of craft, art, home decor, holiday, and fabric items, most of which are usually 40% off (or you can always use a Hobby Lobby coupon code found on their website). I am especially fond of their jewelry, cake, and fabric selections and make a point to shop here before other similar stores (Michael's and JoAnn). You can't help but leave feeling inspired and like you got your money's worth. read more

Customer service is poor here. The times I have asked for assistance from the workers there it seems as if you are bothering them. They are snippy and unkind and don't want to help you. Michaels or Jo Anne's is where I would suggest going! Hopefully the other local stores are nicer than the lees summit. read more

I'm boycotting Hobby Lobby, not because of its prices or the quality of its products, but because I'm very disturbed by their lawsuit attempting to deny women access to some forms of birth control. Really appreciate this store. Clean, bright, well displayed merchandise and always a sale on something. Great place for frames and for custom framing. Excellent candles. Friendly employees. 40% off coupon (one item) available each week on line. Hobby Lobby is always the go to place for craft and decorative paper good items. Love it! read more

I'm extremely unimpressed with the treatment my girlfriend received from the folks at this location. She was shopping when she bent over and her keys tapped a product and made a noise. An employee was near and saw that no damage was done, and my girlfriend apologized multiple times. The employee then passive-aggressively called her manager over her walkie-talkie, and continued to follow my girlfriend until she left, including standing at the end of the checkout line to supervise her paying. The only reason she bought anything at all was because she felt so uncomfortable by your employee. This is no way to treat a customer. If she didn't stop me I'd have come inside and let you know what I thought to your face. This behavior is absurd and unacceptable. I'm not sure if it's because of the color of her skin or her being young but she hadn't exhibited any behavior implying she was a thief that needed to be followed around. She deserves a formal apology from the management of this store and from the employee involved. read more
