Lovelovelove this store! They just have such a wonderfully curated collection of products, plus they offer really cool classes. I've taken several here and they're really fun & you get to take home what you've made. I'm not particularly crafty, but the staff here explains everything thoroughly and shows you tip & tricks to help make your creative juices start flowing. I love the card selection at the Hallmark in Ranchmart and at HMK on the Plaza, but Paper Source has a huge selection too. Plus they have everything you need to make your own cards, a massive selections of stamps, stickers, pens (including my fave Le Pen felt tips in a variety of colors,) calendars, journals, gifts, and knickknacks. This is a great place to grab a gift for anyone on your list. And oh my goodness the wrapping paper here is GORGEOUS! Like so gorgeous you could frame it and call it art. It's really high quality and they have quite a large selection of designs & colors. Definitely swing by here next time you're on the Plaza- they even have a few parking spaces right out front, which is rare to find!! read more

I needed paper to wrap a wedding gift and wow! What a wonderful assortment of paper. I was very impressed with the help I got in making a selection - beautiful paper and ribbon matching a small design in the paper. read more

First time here and the staff was so helpful tracking down what I needed for my save the dates. I also ended up getting multiple gifts for friends while I was in there too. Huge selection of envelopes, stationery and beautiful papers but also my favorite Rifle Paper Co gifts and a big selection of unique gifts from games to cookbooks - a little gem down on the Plaza. read more

This has become the absolute go-to for when I need a card for someone. They actually have clever cards and a whole wall to select from. They've got a sweet spot on the Plaza that they might be close to outgrowing. It can get a little cramped, but that just means there's more to choose from. I get my sister-in-law one of their calendars each year - each month is reusable and can be turned to gift wrap. From people I know, Paper Source has taken over the card & stationery niche and you will come away with something every time you step foot inside. read more

No trip to KC is complete without a stop in this delight of paper and gadgets I didn't know I needed until I walked in. The staff on my recent visit were just as excited as we were about being there and offered some helpful advice and assistance around the store. The Paper Source has styles to fit all levels of taste/ tastelessness. From hip and modern to traditional to the "why would they ever print that" prints- they've got it. Lots of gifts always come from here for the folks on my list. read more

Well I'll be. My fiancé dragged me in here one afternoon and I expected the worst. A paper store??? Seriously?!?! Well, yes, it's a paper store, but it's a cool paper store. And it's not just a paper store. The place has awesome, funny and unique cards for all your standard occasions. It has a ton of special, high quality papers that you can buy for whatever reason you might possibly need. Also, they have a whole wall of stamps and stamping products, and some paper-related crafts. Finally, they have a whole bunch of weird and funny stuff that you'd never expect, from a "mustache mug" for your coffee to a book for stoners. If nothing else, just wander around. It's a surprisingly neat store! read more

Went here back in 2007 when I was on an Ok State Ad Club trip up to KC. I loved this store. Gorgeous paper, stationary, cards, and everything paper related. I loved it. I ended up buying a birthday card for my grandma and a fake cigarette for one of my younger sisters. This place is in a great location and is one of the few stores I enjoyed browsing and buying in. read more

This is my go to shop when I'm trying to find a special card for the occasion, whatever that occasion may be. Paper Source offers a great selection for what you're looking for including selections fit for your parents and family, selections that push the envelope and of course, selections that make you go LOL / OMG (which is usually where I've pushed the boundary.) The store offers other forms of stationary as well as a limited amount of packing material depending what you're needs are. The happy and cheery staff are always eager to help as well. read more

Associates are very friendly and accomodating. Store is cute and full of unique paper products read more

What do Candy Spelling and I have in common? We both have gift wrapping stations! Sure, she has a gift wrapping room and I have a gift wrapping area.........but a boy can dream. Don't judge! I love paper product. Stationary, cards, wrapping paper, envelopes etc etc. It's all found here at Paper Source along with any accessories you would ever need for your paper projects. Gift items and knick knacks are spread throughout the store. It's a great place to stop into for any holiday or any occasion. The staff is really friendly and knowledgeable here and always ready to help. It's easy to spend a great amount of money on gift wrap. It may not be the smartest economic choice I ever make, but it makes me damn happy. I put a lot of thought into the look and presentation of a gift and the choices of wrapping paper and ribbon can send me into a gleeful frenzy here at Paper Source. read more

Really cool and cramped store with anything a paper lover adores: Planners, stickers, book, journals, stationary, invitations, calendars. . .etc, etc, etc... I was happy to see Rifle paper company products, and some other unique finds. read more

This is my "Kid in a Candy Store" place. I'm of the persuasion that a girl can never have too many journals, various types of pens with colors of ink, and will one day have a "writing room" in my house. I'm also the kind of girl who writes letters (remember those?! How retro!) and seals them with wax, and they have some of the loveliest stationary in this shop (and some kickass sealing wax, as well). Apart from various creative "essentials," they also always have a sprightly selection of neat gift items and knicknacks. I'm telling you, if it can't be found at Paper Source, I don't need to own it. Everything in this store is beautiful, often on sale, and I always leave with a million fun creative ideas and have even seen some of them through to fruition. This is the kind of store that makes me want to host a dinner party simply so I can drop some dough here on the supplies to make beautiful, yet simple and tasteful placards and such. read more

What can i say about this store? I become a raging gift-wrapping queen when I enter Paper Source. Tons of gorgeous papers, tons of luxurious ribbons, all the better to wrap beautiful presents. For a few people on my list, I have ended up spending more money on the gift wrapping than i did the actual gift. Is it worth it? Look under my tree at the ridiculously gorgeous presents and you'll know the answer. in other news, they have a really great selection of fun gifts that are worth browsing. read more

3 1/2 stars actually......4 stars for the variety of items but 3 stars for the Plaza pricing. The staff is very helpful, and I love seeing all the little books and journals that I never would have thought of. I found some adorable disposable fountain type pens. I wish I could get some of these paper prints for wallpaper...they are so cool and eclectic! From blank invitations, Christmas cards, unique gifts and stocking stuffers, blank journals for travels, journaling, tearing up, etc. Stop by and I bet you'll see something that catches your eye and makes you smile! read more

I miss having such a nice paper selection within walking distance. You can visit the website and view the majority of what they have to offer (http://www.paper-source.com/), but it's just not the same as being there and feeling the papers first hand (no pun intended). Paper Source and Kate's, in New York, are two of my favorite paper supply stores. read more

Your imagination will guide you at the Paper Source. We searched for wedding thank-you's that weren't going to break the bank and we found them here. The selection alone will suck you in. They had our colors and we told them what we were using the cards for. They selected a rubber stamp with us and directed us toward an iridescent ink that made our cards look custom, retro and beautiful Great people to work with and a really fun place to spend an afternoon. read more

Is it sad that the one of the only reasons I want to get married or throw some sort of party is to have an excuse to by paper supplies here?? I could spend hours roaming through this store imagining all these uses for their paper, envelopes and thank you notes. I love that they always have stuff on sale, and have new things every season. Also, they have people there that are knowledgeable about paper crafting. Whenever I go in there they always have advertisements for classes that they offer. And it isn't just about card making but organizational crafting, and decorative items too. If you are looking for some great decor, their sheets of paper make great wall art! read more

Do you love cute office supplies and crafting and kitschy gifts? Yeah? Head to Paper Source. It's a nice, not too busy corner of the Plaza store that is bursting with girly charm. But like, actually bursting. Not sure how this store is ADA compliant because I saw a lady try to get her stroller through their cramped tables and careful as she tried to be, she was a bull in a china shop. Hipster wooden flasks and geometric rose gold pictures frames went crashing down. Staff was very nice and quick to clean and restock, but yeah, there's no way you could get a wheelchair through there. One of my friends ordered all her custom wedding stationary through Paper Source and it was divine. They walked her and her then fiancée through everything step by step. Everything was gorgeous, well executed, and felt luxurious. I used to be really into designing, printing, and binding my own planners and this was my go-to for book binding supplies. read more

I have a Paper Source addiction. It ties right in with my wrapping/bow addiction, funny card addiction and gag gift/bacon-themed gift addiction. You can buy any shade/luster of ribbon your little heart desires. Best paper too. The cards. I just hope they get a new selection as I have gifted almost every humorous option they have right now. January and February are popular with my friends for being born. They also have--just CUTE--letterpress cards that look classy. read more

The Paper Source staff might not yet know my name, but they sure know my face -- I usually stop in on a biweekly basis. As far as card and invitation basics, Paper Source is amazing. The house brand's color palette is fantastic -- enough neutrals for basic and professional needs, and enough creative colors to add a touch of whimsy to your paper project. An insider tip? This is my go-to place for cards. They have a fantastic selection for just about any occasion, including a wide variety of letterpress designs. I recently had a friend swoon when she opened my card at a bridal shower: "Congratulations on finding your Mr. Darcy." PS is where I stocked up on purple paper for my wedding (ahhh, the memories), as well as stamps and ink. I can also replenish my supply of Moleskines, and this is where I buy my planners if I decide to stray from Russell + Hazel. Whether you need paper, a card or a whimsical gift, Paper Source is a must-see while you're on the Plaza. And if you need to flex your creative muscle, they have an ongoing list of reasonably priced classes and workshops. Be sure to stop in soon -- and when you do, I'll probably be there. Say hi! read more

Hmm... Imagine a store like Sharper Image, but without the technology, and replace it with paper, and throw in a little Restoration Hardware and Crocker Barrell for good measure. Oh, and lots of wedding invitations. That give you a hint of what you're getting into when you walk in the door. There is a lot of little stuff in this store, and I really had a hard time leaving. I mean, they go beyond 'Paper' in so many ways, it's really an interesting place. Everything from those ubiquitous moleskin things, to that kids book about poop and farting, to make-your-own-paper kits. Even the prices are reasonable, given the speciality of the store. 5 stars! read more

A fun store to browse in. It carries quirky and interesting items that you can gift or even buy for yourself (make a good conversation piece). I got a gift wrapped, and they did a pretty good job of it. If you have time and the basic skill, I recommend you buy a suitable wrapping paper from the store and do it yourself. read more

I never knew this place existed on the plaza! Wow, I've been hiding under a rock, apparently I need to explore this area of the Plaza more often because this hidden little gem was there! Also helped that my sister introduced me to this place, haha. Anyways, this Paper Source store is on a whole new level of craft papers and cards and more! It's like the queen of all paper stores. It's very unassuming, at least for me it was. I usually don't explore this area of the Plaza, which goes to show that I need to more often. When walking in, you're immediately greeted with....paper, and lots of it. Pretty sure I got lost in all the paper of this tiny store. From cards, to calendars, to all sorts of stationary, they have it all! And for all types of holidays! This is a great place for gifts ideas because they have random, cute knickknacks scattered throughout the store. Paper Source also offers a plethora of things related to paper, custom invitations, cards, prints, stamps, etc. You will find pretty much everything paper at this store! Beware, it can get pretty pricey! People of Yelp, if you need paper and anything related to it, Paper Source is your store! read more

Oh Paper Source... You cute little son of a bitch. Paper Source is pretty much a must stop place for us when we are on the Plaza. It is one of the first places we go in search of cards and they always have great little knick knacks, toys, and whatnots. It's a great place to go if you need a small gift for a friend or a loved one. The store also has envelopes and papers of all colors, wrapping paper, stamps, decorations... I really can't be expected to list all the different things they carry, so I won't. We'd LOVE Paper Source even more but it can be a touch pricey (but getting good, non Hallmark cards is going to cost more anyway). Their prices are completely in line with similar type stores, so that isn't the problem, it's just that a trip there tends to be expensive without even trying. So just be prepared for that. You will go for a card and leave with $40 worth of stuff. read more

Great source for some paper. I can't say I have any cause to go into this place for my own vices, although they do have some cool coffee table books as well as pens and other knick-knacks of that sort. No, the reason I am familiar with Paper Source is because my wife had the fabulous idea of creating our own wedding invitations. She actually got the idea for the one we went with from the samples folder that is hanging near the door in the back-right corner. This is about all the work my wife did until I had the invitations near completion and I refused to tie stuff on to them and address envelopes. With all the work I ended up putting into these things, I can tell you that the actual paper racks are fairly well organized and easy to sort through when you're mixing and matching various colors and textures of paper. They also have some large binders you can sort through as an easier alternative. The tools they have are nice and good quality. I had to do lots of cutting and perforating, and I never ran into any issues with the tools or the materials we got from this place. Some of the stuff can be pricey, but when you're talking wedding invitations and what I would have gotten raked for had I paid someone else to do it, it's not horrible. read more

Paper Source is trouble. The store is amazing - so amazing that I have difficulty not buying things when I'm "just browsing." This store prides itself in providing everything paper related. They have a great variety of colorful cardstock in various paper weights with matching envelopes, as well as custom-designed paper you can buy off the spool. These things are especially important to brides who are trying to do their own invitations. But if you're needing professional invitations, they take care of that as well. They do amazing letterpress invitations, which you can view on their Web site. Whether you are looking for stamps or paper plates - this store has it. My only issue with this store is the price. Just buying a 10-pack of thank you cards can be $16. read more

Best selection of cards and papercrafting supplies that I know of. Employees are generally very helpful, knowledgable, and polite even during busy times like the Xmas season. Prices are a little steep, but I generally find it worthwhile for the unique impression you can make with the gifts you give and cards you send using such pretty and unique materials. Great place for last minute gifts, too. Fun selection of books and knick-knacks that are pretty unique. I cannot attest to the cardmaking or gift-wrapping services they offer as I've never taken advantage of them, but I do recall that an old friend worked here while she attended the Art Institute in KC and she did some pretty awesome work in the store on custom jobs. Parking can be a mess on the Plaza, but oddly the little nook that Paper Source and its neighbors sit in generally seems to have an open spot even during busy hours. read more

We recently ordered our Wedding Invitations and RSVP cards from here. First of all, they had a great selection to choose from and were super easy to work with to really make ours more us by changing the way some of the items were worded. After multiple reviews of our Invites before giving the OK, my fiance still managed to miss one important misspelled word on our invite. His mom's last name! OMG. He didn't catch the mistake until we'd already received the invites. He sent Paper Source an email explaining the issue and asking if there was anyway we could potentially get one more printed with the correct spelling. About a day later, I got a call from the store and they went above and beyond in helping us! We were able to get a few more printed to send so his family didn't see the mistake. It really is the little things that mean so much. I am so grateful to the people at Paper Source. Everyone at Paper Source was great to work with and I will always highly recommend them to anyone! I'm sure in a couple months, we'll be revisiting them to get some Thank You's ordered! read more

Just a little bit obsessed with Paper Source. Case in point...we already bought our 2013 calendar because I was so distraught I missed out on getting the 2012 calendar (if you catch me trying to take it down (aka steal it) at the end of the year off the wall, I beg you...please don't stop me!) I love the variety of cards, paper, and unique gifts here. Price tag is a little high, but that helps me control myself, so hey, who can complain. Also, it helps me love them a little more since they carry LGBT cards for weddings, engagements, and the like. I have been drooling over some of the Save-the-date cards every time we stop in. read more

I avoided this store for a long time under the assumption it was just for the arts-&-crafts type of woman, of which I AM NOT. One day, I happened to venture in.. and now? I try to stop in here every time I have a gift to give. The employees are always very nice and helpful; there have been times I have brought my gift with me, purchased some of their FABULOUS wrapping paper/bows, and they actually have let me get it all wrapped up using their gift wrapping counter (they offer gift wrapping services for a small fee - might be nice if you're not broke like myself, and want to continue shopping on the Plaza while someone else wraps for you). I realize this is probably one of the tackiest things anyone could do, and I really do hate to be THAT customer, but sometimes when time and money are tight, it's either THAT, or throw together a mess of a present IN MY CAR. My own tackiness aside... They have a great, really unique selection of special occasion cards that would never be found at your local Target or Hallmark stores. Lots of potential smaller gifts (think stocking stuffers) can be found all over the store - again, really unique, fun items (ex: funny books, random kitchen accessories, even some kid stuff, inspirational items, etc.). They've got a rather large section for DIY/scrapbooking type projects, and a plethora of photo albums. I love all of their gift wrapping accessories (wrapping paper, gift bags, all kinds of pretty tissue paper, ribbons, bows bows BOWS, etc.). They pretty much have everything you might need/want in the Gift Giving Department! read more

Alot of fun. They have a variety of stationery, paper in sheets, journals, cards, etc. They also offer classes in various arts. Would like to see more in the way of archival-quality papers. The paper also tends to fall within the style of say anthropologie, It seems kind of neo-victorian if I can invent a word. The staff is always very helpful and it's a pleasant experience. read more

I went in with the family thinking that I would stand in a corner and fiddle with my smart phone while they looked around. I assumed wrong. What a charming shop. I found myself impressed and feeling silly for underestimating the place, even with the glowing reviews. Okay, they have the great cards, quality artsy paper, and such, but I was enjoying finding things I wasn't expecting to find in the place. Who doesn't need an R2D2 kitchen timer? There was a little section that had some cool items for men, and my daughter walked away with some cool jewelry. The staff was friendly and knew their stuff. Shame on me for being a fuddy duddy walking in, but I'm glad the place gave me an attitude adjustment. All the best to them for continued success. I dig the eclectic vibe of the place. read more

I have shopped at Paper Source Kansas City for many years, probably as many as it's been open. It is a excellent source of fine artisan papers. If you are looking for unusual or unique papers, this is the place to find them. Tom, the manager, along with the rest of the staff is very patient and professional. And they are truly interested in what creations you make using their papers and supplies. I live in Kansas, but make a trip to the Kansas City Store about once every three month. And if the weather is bad and I don't want to do that drive, the staff is eager to take phone orders. Every experience I've had with Paper Source Kansas City has been a pleasant and positive experience. It is one of my most favorite stores in which to shop and purchase those fabulous papers.
