Sure it made it off the premises but wow, in the parking lot it already started failing. No, it did not hit anything, my car is empty and there's nothing pointy. Yes, I am complaining over a $5 balloon. It would have cost cents to remedy this for the store. Poor customer service. Employee who doesnt gaf. If you are considering Michael's for helium balloons, one word -DON'T. I used to work in a balloon decorating business so I understand latex balloon and the use of Hi-Float. So, I know a balloon will last -according to Hi-Float website- 25x longer. I bought a small bouquet of balloons in the evening, needing them for an event early the next morning. I requested the use of Hi-Float in order to assure they would still be floating in the morning. What I got was balloons that were not fully inflated, definitely not the 11 inch that the balloon should have been. I overlooked that as it was for a table and a bit smaller wasn't going to be a bad thing. But by morning they were on the table, no longer in the air. This was so disappointing, since a good latex balloon with helium and Hi-Float should easily stay up overnight. I went to the store to ask for a refund when I was told they only guarantee their latex balloons for 4 hours!!?? What? With Hi-Float??? Yep. This is disgusting. Considering Hi-Float's own 25x guarantee, maybe I actually should have gotten no less that 100 hrs. read more

I frequent this establishment between three and six times a month. They have a large selection of crafting items and seasonal goods. Their prices are fairly reasonable. You can shop around and find better prices, and spend a lot more on gas than the savings. You will find here on the overall selection. read more

This is my favorite Michael's store. Very organized , always stocked, can always find help and good sales snd clearance items. I found some good clearance items from Christmas especially the candles which I love! They are complying to all the states covid regulations and trying to keep the lines short and moving fast by keeping a good amount of cashiers available so that no one is standing next to each other for a while in line The store is kept clean and I really like there on line classes . read more

This review is based off customer service only! A very rude older cashier woman should not be working with customers at all! I had a return and nobody in line as it was Saturday at 10:05am. Cashier- I can help you at 2 Me- perfect, I just have a return Cashier- that's why I said I can help you at 2 (very rude with eye rolling) Me: shocked Cashier- totally refund is $10.75 in cash back Me: I used my credit card, but ok Cashier: I'll have to call a manager to put back on card (again rude with the facial expressions) Me: no worries, is this my original recipe to keep? Even though I haven't stepped in since the pandemic, I still enjoyed the sights and so.etimes sounds. When going in this place, I can figure out where to find things. If I can't for some reasons I locate a crew member and ask questions. The place has enough room to move around. Michael's is fairly bright in colors. It makes it look bigger, like a wherehouse. Hey even have frames for your photos. Most of all I love the deals. Everyone loves deals!! read more

My review is strictly for customer service as well. I've been shopping at this store for 10 years and the customer service is nonexistent. There is never anyone on the floor to help you. Since they put in the self checkout kiosks they really want absolutely no contact with customers at all apparently. However, the most current issue is the nasty older lady cashier with dark shoulder length hair and bangs. I have been in this store and encountered her 3 different times (including an hour ago) and she is just straight nasty! I asked a question about the coupon I used. Her response, "Well if you would have read the coupon you would have known" with an attitude like I was inconveniencing her. I shouldn't be berated for asking a question and I certainly don't need the attitude. This employee needs to go. I decided to stop by this Michael's one evening to look for picture frames. The location is relatively easy to get to. It's off of the 95/buffalo. You can also take the 95/Ann exit to get here as well. The parking is relatively spacious as it shares parking with other local businesses such as Home Depot, Famous Footwear, Bath and Bodyworks, Claire's and a few others. The first thing I noticed coming into the store was it was relatively clean and arranged perfectly. There was a section dedicated to the Holidays. There was a 60% off sale on Holiday trees that was on-going. There was plenty of crafts, children toys, art books, and picture frames at this location. I was looking for something in particular, family picture frames. The family picture frames were located all the way in the back off the store, in the corner. There was a variety of different colors, black, brown, gold, and deep reddish. After digging through a variety of picture frames, I found the perfect family frame I was looking for, however, I was severely disappointed when I had grabbed it and found that it was cracked glass on one of the photo frames. I decided to find a second one, however, the wood was damaged on the second. Finally, the 3rd one was perfect! If you're shopping at this Michael's, you should inspect what you are buying first. Make sure it is not damaged! When I had got to the front, there was a long line, and only one cashier working. There were two others at the front, however, it looked like they were doing inventory. I ended up waiting for about 15 minutes to get checked out. The frame was relatively expensive, almost $50.00 for the frame, but a sale was going on for 40% off. I would recommend another arts and crafts store if you are looking for less expensive items. One of the nice perks about this Michael's is it does offer classes in crafting and classes for children every Saturday as well. Check online for their local store offerings in your area. read more

This store has horrible management and human resource practices. They seem to take advantage of the minors that work for this store. It's extremely sad that because these workers are young and not as knowledgeable about their labor rights that the management team here uses that in their favor. I am so upset. I just had cataract surgery and went into the Centennial Hills store and asked the sales lady Michelle where to locate an item she said it's over there and pointed to the area. I thought rude. I could not find what I needed so I asked her and Randy male for help Randy said you're not getting any help from here. I thought even more rude. I asked a lady customer to help me because I could not see every well. She was really nice and said she could not believe how that man treated me. ordered a frame online and received two texts and emails. First one stating they got the order and the second one stating the order was ready for pickup. Waited in line and woman stated pickup was located in bins by the line. Previously you picked up at the counter and before that it was at the framing department. Anyways my order was not in the bins and the woman found it in a shopping cart. My ONLY problem is the attitude with the statement "we didn't have the time to put it in the pickup bins". Things really have gone down at this store. Empty shelves and no help at all. I was looking for plastic bags and couldn't find the right size. Asked for help and she told me to look on back wall. I was just there and couldn't find them - she wouldn't move. Was doing nothing but just pointed to area. Then I found some but didn't know the size.. asked for any larger "don't know" was the response. If these didn't work could I return them? Not if opened.. sorry. This is the #1 reason retail locations are going out of business. Horrible service I could get better on the internet. Yikes. That's the word that perhaps best describes my feelings after spending an hour in this place that I honestly used to really enjoy. Brick and mortar retail is quickly becoming a thing of the past, and it is (in my humblest of opinions) because of stores like this that online retail giants like Amazon are destroying the brick and mortar retail landscape. Even other significantly more successful brick and mortar big box retailers like WalMart and Target are driving speciality big box places like Michael's and Office Depot into oblivion because they simply cannot, or are unwilling to, compete. I digress, getting back to the subject at hand, the Michael's in Centennial shopping center is a perfect example of why I am a proud Amazon Prime member. Let's start with selection: it's pretty good. If looking for higher end art supplies, custom framing, yarns, and other middle market and higher end craft goods, this is a pretty good place to visit so you touch and feel the merchandise hands on. Just be sure to bring your iPhone (or Android if you insist) and have the Amazon app ready, so you can scan the barcodes and see the insane savings you'll get by not spending a cent in this store. Their selection of art supplies and offering a nice custom framing area is why I granted 2/5 as opposed to 1/5. Allow me to elaborate... Some of the savings are nothing short of ludicrous. Example: my daughter is a bit of a budding artist. She enjoys pencil drawing and has graduated to using some better than average supplies. One set of outining pencils was $17.99 at Michaels. I scanned the barcode, and Amazon had the EXACT SAME set for $8.99, and it doesn't end there. Amazon has MSRP (Retail price) listed at $15.99. I dug a little deeper and sure enough, the MANUFACTURE'S SUGGESTED RETAIL PRICE was $2 less than what Michael's was selling it for. It's bad enough to pay retail but to pay over retail for the luxury of a rundown store with minimal staff? As if!!!! Yes, I went all 'Clueless' on that one, as it simply boggles my mind why ANYONE would shop here. I was sent a print ad with coupons that included an advertisement for Strathmore sketch pads for Buy 3 for price of 1. Pretty good deal, right? The add said prices were in effect through the end of the month. I went there and was told that the particular item I was referring to was only available at that price during the first week of the month. No, it did not say that in the fine print or anywhere in the ad. Come to find out, though, once I scanned the sketch pads, I discovered that even with the coupon, Amazon Marketplace had them for cheaper, with Prime Shipping. LOLZ. I tried to use a coupon for 25% off a sale item. The clerk told me that that particular coupon hadn't started yet. AYFKM. So, to not call it a complete waste, I allowed my two kids to pick out 3 Cadbury eggs. The total was OVER $4. They are about $2.79 at Walmart right across the street from this place. Make no mistake, I am a fan of both online shopping as well as brick and mortar traditional shopping. I LOVE the mall (specifically Forum Shops or Fashion Show in Vegas), but retail stores like this Michael's make it crystal clear that there are at least some brick and mortar stores who stopped caring long ago and are simply waving the white flag to Amazon and WalMart, almost begging them to pound in that final nail in their coffin. read more

Received absolutely terrible costumer service from an older female cashier when ringing up my purchase. She didn't bag my fragile items up with care, and after slamming them on the counter I had to ask for tissue paper to wrap them myself. Then I asked about using a coupon with the "buy more save more" promotion they currently have and she quickly dismissed me with an attitude claiming my items were already on sale and the coupon wouldn't apply. I told her the coupon did not say it was for full price items only and she proceeded to rudely tell me I was wrong. After leaving the store, using the Michael's app, I put everything I purchased in an online cart with the discount and the coupon did apply to my purchase. On my most recent trip to Michaels, I was looking for supplies to decorate my graduation cap. Of course, this wasn't my first trip to the rodeo. I've been to this location in the massive shopping center that is Centennial Center plenty of times for my sporadic moments of craftiness. The store itself looks dated. The one on Deer Springs is much newer and dare I say, larger. Employees are hard to find throughout the store. The only time I seen one was when I was being informed to hurry my ass up because the store was closing soon. If you're not using a coupon when shopping at Michaels, you're doing it wrong. Anyone with a smartphone can go to their website and pull up the latest offer of the day. I scored 20% my entire purchase on this shopping trip. When I was small, Tall Mouse was the place to go to for all my school projects. Now, it's Michael's. The MECCA of everything art and everything craft. The one stop shop for beading, baking, basketweaving, you name it---yep, they have it! I'm sure that many of you have already been to a Michael's and know all that it has to offer. This particular Michael's --located in the Northwest of Vegas across the street from the super humungo Wal-Mart, is by and far the BEST Michael's I've been to. 1st, they changed their old, boring red Michael's logo to a more young, hip and fun fonty Michael's logo. Why this intrigues me, I don't know but I think it makes it more modern-y. And draws you in! 2nd, it's GIGANTIC. By far, probably the largest one in the Vegas area. You'll have to go in there to see how much product they carry. 3rd, they have excellent classes with great instructors! Right now, I am enrolled in the Wilton Cake Decorting Class and it's been a lot of fun. (La Nora, you're fabulous!) 4th, and this is in general for ALL Michael's---coupons, coupons, coupons galore!! Now, I dunno about you but I find it rare for a store to give out 50% coupons on the regular. And Michael's does. Oh boy it does. 40-50%...find it in your local paper, or rummage through that Wednesday junk mail that you think serves no purpose...better yet, print one online. For kids birthday presents we always go to Michael's. What you will find here so much more inspiring and creative for kids by far. For the boys we can find science experiments and things for them to tinker with or build. For girls they have equally creative items for them to craft or design like bracelets or jewelry and art projects. These items are much more stimulating than what you will find at other big chains or retailers. The parents will be happy because they will keep kids engaged for hours. If you plan your visit you can also find coupons or discounts if you use the Shopkick app, or mailer, or retailmenot. They always accept discounts at the register to bring even more value to your purchase. Michael's is the place to go for Birthday presents for creative kids. read more

I went in for a couple of items, found them and checked out. Got to my car and noticed the cashier scanned one item twice, instead of the 2 different items separately. since there was a price difference I went back in to get the refund. I asked about a customer service/refund line and was told there wasn't one and would have to stand in line again. the line went passed the normal wait in line area and then half way down the aisle to the back of the store (I had already stood in this line the 1st time a few minutes prior). When I got to the cashier I explained what happened, but instead of "returning" one of the 2 rung up items in error, then scanning the correct item, with the correct price and putting the difference back on my card....was told they can't do it that way. she refunded one item, with it going back on my card, then "rebought" the item that was never rung up properly the 1st time. I paid cash and was asked "do you want your change"......seriously.....it wasn't pennies I was getting back.....Yes, I do want my change. this isn't my go to Michael's.....I'll keep going to the one off North 5th....much better atmosphere and customer service. read more

New looks, they are making things at Michaels a little bit posh, with new isles, configurations and groupings, I had to stroll around just to familiarize myself with the new surroundings. Of course the same great crafting materials for just about any project is available, however, I have been looking for two sided crochet hooks, size K and they don't have it! I bought a book for such a project from them, but then when I went back to buy the hooks, no such luck. The other craft stores in my area have something like I'm looking for, but do not carry the size K I need! I guess I'll have order on line! Why sell a book for projects but do not carry the supplies is a little bit disappointing, however, this is my first and only quandary with this craft store, so unless I stumble onto something else, they will remain on the top of my list! read more

Only one employee in the entire store. Only three customers in the entire store at 10AM on a Saturday. Needless to say, no customer service at all. I left and went to AT HOME. The place was packed on a Saturday morning. I got more products than I had anticipated because the prices were excellent and the customer service was great. Watched the person on register (who wouldn't give me their name) hound two young boys (maybe around 14 y/o) who came in for a snack. If you're familiar with the store layout, the snacks are right next to the registers in full view of the staff. Yet this person felt the need to continuously snap at them when they got in line, tried to use the hand held scanner because they didn't know there was a front hands free scanner, tried to pay with cash at the self check out but it only takes card and while they're generally just standing there. I paid for their snacks so they could leave and not have to take that BS anymore and even then the person at the register needed proof they had scanned the items. I tried talking to her afterwards and she immediately just called her manager, who wasn't there to witness all I had seen, but of course defended her gross behavior stating "it's her job". Well I worked in retail for years and it's never been my job to harass children for wanting a snack. If your kids get dropped off around here, this is how they'll be treated. read more

I spend a lot of money in this Michael's I did an order pick up and got a text that it was ready and so I went into the store to grab my order which wasn't in the bin. I waited in line and asked the cashier about how I got a text that my order was ready but it wasn't in the bin. She looked and couldn't find it. She asked her co worker that was a man and he snapped off that he didn't pull my order and that it must be from a another store and was extremely rude when I explain it was for this store and pulled up the text and he yelled at me saying it's only her and I and I haven't had time. I wasn't rude or disrespectful and didn't deserve how he spoke to me. I will not be back to this store. read more

I just hit discount motherload the last weekend. It's funny but, I just came from a few Michaels and some of the things there weren't labeled sale, but was clearly marked here. Also there was a ton more it seemed on sale. Other Michaels didn't have these tiny party favor mason jar packs of 20 on sale, but here it was $13 instead of $20. They even had nicer vacuum sealed varieties here not at the other stores which was even better for the herbs I intended to put in them! I found good selection of yarn at the other closest Michaels on Lake Mead/Tenaya, but none were on major sale like it was here. They had a bin full of yarns for 99cent clearance. Some of these were the nicer varieties like wools, organics, etc that were originally about $6 a skein. Um, yeah I bought two of each color and there were a ton...I had like 5 bags of yarn. Also I was passing by paint pens that are $3.99 were clearance at 99cents as well! I use those for a lot of projects and currently drawing on a wooden urn I'm making for my dog so we got one of each color. Come to think of it now, whenever I do projects I tend to end up at a few Michaels, but I seem to always catch discounts here. I don't know if it's worth the drive for some people, but wanted to share with the crafters to call this location just in case something is on blowout. I like to make necklaces and bracelets for friends, as gifts and whatnot, as well as I just love creating things. This Michaels is down and around the way for me about 10 minutes from my place so I come here whenever I need some crafty things. The staff has always been helpful when I ask for help and they will even come to you and ask if you need help. They always have great sales and now they have a free Phone APP where it lists sales and coupons, so if you forget your coupons there's usually one or two on the phone app that you can use. read more

This is the closest to my house but I prefer to go to the one on lake mead. I came in Today to look at the yarn and it seemed to be a very limited selection. I settled for a few skeins of white and grey of the snuggly wuggly yarn. They were having a buy two yarn get one free promotion but the yarn baskets seem to be loaded with just a big hodge podge of different brands. I would order on line but sometimes I actually like to see the different colors available for projects I might be interested in doing. This one just doesn't seem to be as big or as organized as the Michaels on Lake Mead and for that reason I will drive a little bit further. read more
