12/30/22 Christmas themed mini clothes pins

1/6/25 I'm a sucker for clearance events.... True confession Ideas are floating in my head and my creative juices are flowin a river (and I hear a song coming on ...like a river ) This 70 % OFF deal at Micheal's is so hard to pass up. Saw cardstock albums for $3 each, I purchased 4- 3 of which are fall season inspired, the other is plain neutral colors. I got cards lined up in my memory file (I better get crackalackin!!!) More Christmas inventory for 70% OFF are in my arsenal to make decor for Yuletide 2025. I even bought a Christmas wreath for $12, I am stoked! Alright folks! I gotta get crafting This location also has well stocked & organized shelves. Prices/tags marked accordingly & sale banners are clearly visible. I did not encounter staff to mention anything about customer service but they seem to be friendly & helpful to other patrons. I utilized the self check kiosk that I find user-friendly. Plenty of free parking to be had but the slots seem a bit compact sized. All in all, I can easily spend a couple of hours here if Hubby didn't rein me in or have more errands to run. Great visit. Restrooms are biometric designed (staff use their fingerprint & a code to let you in). The staff who let me in continued his conversation with a fellow worker without acknowledging me. You know how I feel about restrooms requiring these measures? Exactly that! Not Michael's fault but the community's.... but their restroom smelled a little funky, plus no paper towels. Some chores need paper towels. Do Michaels locations from more affluent neighborhoods have the same vibe? Hmn. I will check it out when I get a chance.

My to-go Michaels store! I come here often, mostly to pick up online orders now as they've made it super convenient to just walk in and pick up your item when you enter the store. Try to take advantage of the coupons they have available online! They normally always have one up on their website. Occasionally they'll have a 40% coupon available which I use to purchase their EVA and modeling foam. I use this foam for cosplay and it's especially excellent for its price point (even without the coupon). Competitive against online retailers for foam. This location is well-organized and has plenty of room to walk around in. I've never found it overly crowded which is nice. Never really had issues finding what I need as it's also well-stocked. My only complaint, that apparently is an issue at most locations, is that they typically only have one person to run the registers. This wouldn't be an issue if you're only checking out, but sometimes I need to make a return and they only do it at the registers, so this can be a long process. But the employees have always been polite with me and the overall experience is pretty pleasant.

I went to return something and then browsed the isles to pick out some new items for my red, white and blue decor at home. (4th of July is my FAVORITE)!! What.A.Let.Down. A large majority of the items looked like complete trash. Many, MANY things scratched and scuffed up. I don't want to decorate with crappy looking decorations. A couple items were even ripped (see America sign photo). What the heck!? Who in their right mind would think it's ok to stock that on the shelves? I contemplated taking these items to someone but it would have likely filled the bulk of the cart. I wish I would have taken more pictures but you can see how bad just the few were that I took. So much to see with lots of options also for crafts. We spotted a section for clearance items where my friend bought plastic water bottles for $1.25 set of 3. So he bought two sets for $2.50. Such a great deal. We were all satisfied with what we bought at amazing prices. Can't wait to go back!

Your $180 monthly membership does not include firing you glazed piece (that cast extra) and you will need to give a 30 day notice ( even though you will not be using the membership at all like in my case where I am unable to). I broke my finger 2 days after I started, so I could not use this membership for weeks in the beginning but did not complain. This was my problem. But... all together I have used the facility one time and then had personal issues that prevents me from using it now. I did not see the 30 day notice and am paying because I did sign it. It seems much like grifting. There is no downside for the studio (not using equipment so no wear and tear) except the loss of my monthly payment. Perhaps this sounds like sour grapes but I truly do not understand this extra month of payment besides they must think they need my money worse than I do.

There aren't many places like this in the area, so it's a fun and creative spot to check out. I found them on Instagram and decided to go with some friends. I've been to two craft studios that are similar, so my review is based on experiences from other places. The booking process was super easy--you reserve online with a $10 nonrefundable deposit, which goes toward the final cost of your craft. When we went at 3 PM on a Friday, we were the only group there, so we had the whole space to ourselves. Free street parking was available right in front of the store, which was a plus! Just a heads-up, it's located in an older part of Long Beach, so keep that in mind. The studio itself is absolutely adorable - very girly and charming. It's a smaller space but seems like it could accommodate a few larger groups at a time, so if you're planning to go with a big party, I'd recommend inquiring ahead of time. One thing I really appreciated is that there's no per-person studio fee. The craft prices ranged from around $15-$45, which is similar to other craft studios I've been to. You can decorate a variety of items like jewelry boxes, mirrors, photo frames, claw clips, phone cases, and glass cups. There was a nice selection of beads, charms, glitter, and other craft supplies. Their website and Instagram list monthly specials, and this month's Hello Kitty and Sonny Angel-inspired phone buddies were adorable. The owner was incredibly sweet, and you can tell she puts a lot of love into her business. She originally started Dainty Disco as a gift shop, so there's still a small retail section with cute merchandise available for purchase. A couple of minor things could be improved. The lighting inside the studio wasn't the best--it was a cloudy day, which didn't help, but some additional overhead lighting would have been useful for crafting. Also, a few craft options were sold out; for example, they were out of the larger heart jewelry boxes and only had one smaller one left. I think a section on the website that lists the options for crafts with pictures would have been helpful in guiding customers ahead of time for their choices. Overall, we had a great time, and it was nice to support a small business! They also host monthly craft meet-ups, which I'd love to check out in the future. If you're looking for a fun and creative activity in Long Beach, I definitely recommend giving Dainty Disco a visit and I'm down to come back!
