We love Michael's Hair Company! Michael gave our son (5 years old) his very first haircut right after his first birthday and has been cutting it ever since. Our son has a TON of hair which would typically be very hard to manage but the way Michael cuts his hair is absolutely brilliant. He gave our daughter (3 years old) her first hair cut as well and cuts her bangs on a regular basis. In addition to being such a great hairdresser he is also patient, kind and understanding. He really knows how to interact with our small children and how to get them to sit still while he cuts their hair, which is very hard for them to do. At the beginning of June I decided to get my hair cut. I called a few places and nobody was able to accommodate me but when I spoke to Michael he said he could see me the next day. I had read the reviews and thought this would be a good place to get my hair cut. When I walk in there was much older clients getting their hair done. I see Michael and he is a much older gentleman too. I got super nervous because I was expecting the clients to be younger or mixed ages. But decided to give him a chance because I might have taken up a spot of his. I sat down and I showed him a picture of what i wanted. I told him I didnt want my hair to be cut too short and explained to him that I didnt want layers just the face framing. Will he goes on to explain that he would need to do some layers to match the picture. The picture doesn't have layers by the way. So he starts cutting away and I start getting more nervous because the layers he cut on the back were soo short. Once he is finish I felt like crying but I kept my composure until I got home. I cried for literally one hour. I have felt sad since about my hair for over 2 months. I know it shouldnt be a big deal but I had explained to him how I wanted my hair and he didnt comply. My hair was longer on the left side which I kinda had to snip myself. The layers were about my ears even though my hair was shoulder length. My face framing bits of hair is much longer then the layers on the back. But then my actual length on back of my head is much longer. So my back of my hair gos from somewhat long to short when it gets closer to my face. I put a picture of what my hair kinda looks like with out the bangs. I think most of the reviews that were crested had to be from much older people that dont have longer hair. Because this was my worst haircut i have ever had in my life! Today I am going to have to go to a master stylist that is going to charge me $95 to fix it. read more

This place is a dump. They don't know how to do a proper blow dry and they're quite ignorant to preserving the integrity of one's hair. I literally had to stop service mid way as I was sure he was damaging my locks. I was desperate to get my hair done bc I couldn't find an appointment elsewhere but I would have never booked at Michael's if I'd known it was a filthy barbershop with amateur stylists. They can't even be considered stylist as they have no concept of style, clearly. read more

I met Mark at Michaels Hair Co through a referral. My referral calls him her "Hair Guy" and I know why now. Mark knows what he is doing! I cannot stop playing with my hair in different styles and how manageable it is now. I was surrounded by 2nd generation clients and i am sure there are 3rd generation clients because his Dad works along side Mark. The staff is very friendly. The atmosphere is comfortable and welcoming. There are signs next to the booths stating "no tipping, they want you to be completely satisfied and to send them referrals". I've been goin to Michael for about over a year maybe two now. I have always shown him pictures of hairstyles from pintrest/ online material to give him an idea of what I want done on my hair. He had been quite supportive and tried his best to give me what I want. Although, always with a struggle I have to say. I went in today around 3pm. Before I went in, I called and spoke w him and he told me if u come in in the next 20 min or so I can take you because I'll b busy the rest of the afternoon. I was like sure ok I'll be there, so I went in. I thought of sayin something like well if me comin in like this, is gona make him rush through my haircut I rather wait for another day n time, since I didn't have an appointment today, but I didnt. So I get there and I began to show him pictures of hairstyles. He made a joke or two saying that he couldn't make me look like this and that. I told him I wasn't asking him to make me look like this and that. What I wanted him to see was the hairstyle, NOT the hot blonde girl, not the hot blonde guy( and mind you they were NOT all blonde pic, there were some dark hair styles as well) anyway, NOT the hot highlights, but JUST the style of the hair. The pictures that I showed him were of long bangs with short hair, very trendy very koo! The pictures were so clear of what I wanted. Lord behold! He did the opposite! OhmyG!!! He cut my friggin bangs man!!!! when I had specifically told him and showed him pics of long awesome bangs!! And he didn't cut my hair short enough, left it long and in a bob style, it looked horrible! He started blow drying it in an 80's friggin style, then started spraying friggin hairspray when I never use hairspray on my hair. Mother of God! I looked up and saw myself in a high school photo from the 80's, I was so upset. He knew I wasn't happy so he said that if I wasn't happy that I didn't have to pay. I was like fine dude but my mentality wasn't that, it was like , what can you do to fix it, right? But He kept saying that he wasn't God that he couldn't make me look like the beautiful pictures I showed him and sarcastically asked me if I wanted him to glue my hair back the way it was before. I just kept quiet shakin my head and I just felt so HOT upset. Finally before i got up, I said I'm not happy, he was like with this hateful face ," well don't pay me and I won't cut your hair ever again, find someone else" I just walked out without saying anything. The barber shop is where I grew up having my haircut and going to a hair "salon" was not my ideal place of where to have my coiffure. I used to have to use a straight iron every day to look good, with my previous hairdressers.My hair was really dry and over the year it has vastly improved. Michael cuts my hair and I am always done in one hour including the shampoo, blow dry and finishing style. Appointments are on time. It is a lively place, 4 or 5 hairdressers, all ages are welcome.
