I don't think this will be a problem if you are a shopper, but from the perspective of the management, there might be a bit too much stuff here for you guys to handle. I went to the Jan's Hallmark in Fenton specifically to look at the Disneyland 70th Anniversary "A…read moreMagical Celebration Musical Ornament With Light" for $61.99. I wanted the ornament to be one of several Disney Christmas gifts for my 9-yr old grandson this year so I was happy to have found it but concerned it might be too big. When I walked through the front door, I could see two women behind the counter, heads close together discussing something. One of them appeared to be on the phone. There was no one else in the store. Neither of them looked up or said anything to me after I entered the store. I walked over to the ornament wall to view the ornament I had in mind. I had a small measuring tape in my purse and took it out to measure the ornament (it was about 5"x5"). I also took time to look at ALL the ornaments to see if there was something else there that might interest me. I pulled up a chair in front of the ornament wall and sat there looking at the boxed ornaments on the lower shelves for about 10 minutes. Still no greeting from the employees or offers of assistance. Then I walked over to a table by the store window, and sat down on a chair so I could do a search on my phone for older Hallmark Disney Anniversary ornaments. The two employees continued to ignore me until I finally asked one of them if they had any Disney anniversary ornaments that weren't quite so big. I told them why I was looking for it. I also asked if the store had any miniature Disney ornaments as my grandson has a tabletop Christmas tree he puts up in his room every year. I explained that the ornaments were part of a much larger gift and how important it was to me. She had no reaction to what I said. What she said was "what we have is on display". She showed me where some other Disney ornaments were that didn't fit what I was looking for at all, and then returned to the checkout counter. I finally decided to go ahead and get the 70th anniversary ornament even though it was bigger than what I was looking for. I took it to the counter to pay for it. One of the women jumped on the phone after she asked the other employee to check me out. The employee rang me out and while I was paying, a customer entered the store. She turned and sad, "Hello. If I can help you let me know". I said to her, "When I entered the store, neither of you said a thing. You didn't greet me. You didn't offer to help me. But just now even while ringing me out, you took the time to greet that customer and offer assistance. It would be nice in the future if you'd extend the same courtesy to me." And without apologizing or saying anything further, she handed me my bag and I left. Suffice it to say I will never, ever, EVER shop at Jan's Hallmark in Fenton again and I will encourage everyone I know to take their business elsewhere... as I will.

Well, that person came back with a totally different item and said that was the one on sale. Nope. So I decided to pay the extra $2.50, not the end of the world, I realize this, but I was terribly unhappy about how the person handled it. After I paid for my purchase I went back into the store and pulled one of the sale price labels from the shelf and took it back to them at the checkout and left. I will be using maybe Hobby Lobby from now on. No thanks to people who don't know what they're doing, but try to convince you they do. IMO, that store was was advertising different pric3s than what was being charged. I'd call that false advertisement.

Also, it's very spacious and a great way to get your steps in! I make it a goal to visit these shops every year on my birthday which happens to fall in December. Word to the wise: if you want to avoid crowds, it's best to go early and maybe even on a weekday. Most of the stores have really great prices and also some unique finds. However sometimes when the stores get super crowded and the checkout line is wrapped literally around the store, it becomes challenging to see the full scope of everything that is on display. Recently I went on a Saturday afternoon and walked out of two really popular stores simply because they were way too crowded and the long lines were a deterrent. Says a lot about the stores though. People saw some really great deals and were willing to go the distance for them. If you enjoy shopping and the great outdoors, this is the place for you. I am only giving 4 stars because there were a few outlet stores that I would've liked to had seen moved to this location after the Taubman Outlets closed, which wasn't too far away. Having those extra stores there would've really set this place off for me, as being one of the best local hot spots!

I was pleasantly surprised by Restoration Hardware on the second floor and we were told it must be pretty new bc it wasn't there before. I enjoyed walking around and window shopping. There is a lot of money in this mall and some of the stores were very pretentious (Louis Vuitton, here's looking at you!), but it's a fun browse and if you are looking for one of these stores in particular, you're in luck bc they're all housed here under one huge shopping mall. Rarer and rarer these days... Mall was well-kept and clean. The bathrooms needed some TLC but, it was mostly a clean and spacious mall.

It smelled so bad going down the long hallway. Toilet paper all over the floor and 2 stalls weren't clean, if you know what I mean. Luckily the lady who cleans was coming in as I was leaving, but for it to get that bad... hopeful it's cleaned pretty routinely.
