Well, I was quoted a price of $18 for picture frame glass 8x10"... $18. What? No thanks. I didn't point out that I could buy a brand new cute frame for $10. Anyway, the part of this trip that could have been better? When I got to the check out, my item rang up incorrectly and the cashier called someone to help. I told the person where the item was and about the 3 signs giving me a cost different than the ring up price. Well, that person came back with a totally different item and said that was the one on sale. Nope. So I decided to pay the extra $2.50, not the end of the world, I realize this, but I was terribly unhappy about how the person handled it. After I paid for my purchase I went back into the store and pulled one of the sale price labels from the shelf and took it back to them at the checkout and left. I will be using maybe Hobby Lobby from now on. No thanks to people who don't know what they're doing, but try to convince you they do. My child, husband and where there for an kid crafting event. It was so much fun! Their staff never disappoints,but in this instance their customer service went above and beyond. Kasey the staff member overseeing the class was so patient and friendly! I had no problem getting someone to help me pick up my online order (pumpkin for the class/event) and figure out where the class was being held. The matting and framing department is a chop shop - literally. They cut one of prints to fit a mat. The print was cut in half. They attached the note that was written on the back of the print to the back of the mat. They had to redo two of the mats because the edges were frayed. The redo of one is crooked and the canvas is hanging off the side (at least they didn't cut it). Another print isn't even attached to the mat. The individuals are friendly and willing to work with you. However, their skills are lacking. I will not be using the mating and framing services again. read more

There's an older lady here who is very rude and has horrible customer service. She's made my experience here really bad each time I come even when I smile and try to make small talk with her. The reason Im actually writing about it this time is because I came to the check out area through the exit to make a return. No one was in line and I patiently waited as she finished checking out the lady in front of me. As I stepped up to make my return, she yelled at me to go to the end of the line, even though those people got in line behind me and had not been in line previous to me standing there. She was so rude and cruel that I walked out without making my return. She was so rude that I'll just drive further to another location and make my return. read more

I visited Michael's on a Thursday night with my friend who needed to have a couple of pictures framed. This was our second time at the frame shop at this location. Both times we have literally had amazing experiences considering where we were. Both women who have waited on us in the frame shop have been friendly, knowledgeable, and have had great taste. I went with my college chum, who is an avid knitter, crocheter, and she does all kinds of other arty things. I was a fish out of water, but I saw so many things I'd like to try. Time to get some lessons, and Michael's offers both a catalog of classes, a calendar of upcoming events and a monthly newsletter. They offer cake decorating, paper crafting, jewelry making, scrapbooking, floral arrangements, knitting and crocheting, and painting classes. WHEW! This store is well-organized and labeled with aisle markers so you don't need to go down aisles that are of no interest to you. The place is packed. I'd say they have everything I would ever need for crafting . . . which I don't do -- yet! My friend purchased a number of things, and the clerk was very friendly and helped my friend access her coupon on her phone. read more

Be ready for poor customer service and attitude if you go, and going at near to close, they close 3-5 minutes early with the associate aka bouncer not letting anyone in. Rarely do I have last minute supply runs, but had a custom order to complete so went here. At tis location I got attitude, told it was 9pm in the store and that meant close, even when I pointed out the time on my smart phone showed 2 minutes. Just went in to Michaels today to grab some fall things to decorate the house. They always have a great selection of items at fair prices. While standing in line to check out an employee went over to open a new line/register and waved me over. He was so sweet and personable and is the main reason I am writing this review. His name was Jack T. and he really made my shopping experience there a positive one with his cheerful disposition. He really seemed to like talking to people and seem to genuinely enjoy his job. The store generally has what I need and is well organized and clean. I did run into a slight problem with a cashier one time. I had one of those gift cards from AT&T that they give you in the form of a VISA credit card. It was for $50 and my total was $51 or so. I was trying to explain to the cashier that he needed to apply it as a split payment and swipe that card for a set amount ($50) and I'd pay the balance. After 5 minutes and an additional employee not knowing how to do this, I finally just relented and paid with my debit card. Some training on how to operate the register might be needed. The cashier was as frustrated as me, but wasn't rude or anything. read more
