The items here are really discounted quite a lot, so you'll definitely get a good deal. However I'd maybe go so far as to say that there's too much stuff here. I don't think this will be a problem if you are a shopper, but from the perspective of the management, there might be a bit too much stuff here for you guys to handle. On our last visit no one asked if we needed help checking out and it was pretty obvious that two elderly people were trying to figure out the checkout system. After a few minutes we figured it out. Something I feel the need to add: we came back to see if they had a particular frame still in stock, and they did. I'm happy to know we can count on an inventory item being there even after a year. I went to the Jan's Hallmark in Fenton specifically to look at the Disneyland 70th Anniversary "A…read moreMagical Celebration Musical Ornament With Light" for $61.99. I wanted the ornament to be one of several Disney Christmas gifts for my 9-yr old grandson this year so I was happy to have found it but concerned it might be too big. When I walked through the front door, I could see two women behind the counter, heads close together discussing something. One of them appeared to be on the phone. There was no one else in the store. Neither of them looked up or said anything to me after I entered the store. I walked over to the ornament wall to view the ornament I had in mind. I had a small measuring tape in my purse and took it out to measure the ornament (it was about 5"x5"). I also took time to look at ALL the ornaments to see if there was something else there that might interest me. I pulled up a chair in front of the ornament wall and sat there looking at the boxed ornaments on the lower shelves for about 10 minutes. Still no greeting from the employees or offers of assistance. Then I walked over to a table by the store window, and sat down on a chair so I could do a search on my phone for older Hallmark Disney Anniversary ornaments. The two employees continued to ignore me until I finally asked one of them if they had any Disney anniversary ornaments that weren't quite so big. I told them why I was looking for it. I also asked if the store had any miniature Disney ornaments as my grandson has a tabletop Christmas tree he puts up in his room every year. I explained that the ornaments were part of a much larger gift and how important it was to me. She had no reaction to what I said. What she said was "what we have is on display". She showed me where some other Disney ornaments were that didn't fit what I was looking for at all, and then returned to the checkout counter. I finally decided to go ahead and get the 70th anniversary ornament even though it was bigger than what I was looking for. I took it to the counter to pay for it. One of the women jumped on the phone after she asked the other employee to check me out. The employee rang me out and while I was paying, a customer entered the store. She turned and sad, "Hello. If I can help you let me know". I said to her, "When I entered the store, neither of you said a thing. You didn't greet me. You didn't offer to help me. But just now even while ringing me out, you took the time to greet that customer and offer assistance. It would be nice in the future if you'd extend the same courtesy to me." And without apologizing or saying anything further, she handed me my bag and I left. Suffice it to say I will never, ever, EVER shop at Jan's Hallmark in Fenton again and I will encourage everyone I know to take their business elsewhere... as I will.

Ohhhh, Halloween Express. I want to love you, but you give me a headache…read more Yes, this place has a huge variety of costumes. In most situations you should be able to find what you need - that just wasn't the case for me. The first time I stopped in, I just needed a pair of butterfly wings. I made the mistake of not taking them out of the bag and checking them out, but when I got home and did, the wings were completely faulty and didn't even stay up with the built-in shoulder straps. I ended up grabbing a new set from Party City that worked much better. The second time, we stopped by to look for a toddler's shark costume that we saw on their website. A staff member helped us look, but we weren't seeing it, and he kind of just wandered away instead of helping us continue to search for it. We ended up checking with another staff member at the register who helped us look online, and he also wasn't much help. When we asked when it would arrive by, he just gave us a blank look and said "I don't know... probably by Halloween, but I don't know." Alrighty... There are a lot of fun choices here, but double-check the quality and don't go looking for something very specific, even if it's on the website. And prepare to fend for yourself.

It started out bad from the moment we arrived. We were completely ignored by the people working…read morethere, so we just stood there waiting for direction. Finally someone sitting at a table told us what to do. After about 15 minutes, one of the people working there came over to us and began giving us directions on how to work with the clay and a few utensils they had to use on the clay. He kept saying, just do whatever you want to do with the clay, and we didn't know what our options were "to do with the clay". When I asked for examples of what we could do, they really had no examples, and he pointed to work that was on the shelves that other people had done. It was very frustrating. We felt like little kids given some play doh. So we were supposed to get a call when our projects were done, no phone call. I finally called and our projects had been done a couple weeks prior. When I went to pick them up, they were on a shelf outside the studio, so I had no interaction with anybody when I went to pick our projects up. I would not suggest anyone go to this studio. They run it like a kids play doh class??
