So, I planned on taking her to the place at the Foundry. I had fine to one of their other locations one time and it was fun. At 11am we walked up to the door and it said they open at noon. Um, okay...your website says 11. We walked around tried again at noon. We weren't the only ones wanting to go in but nope they never opened. We were determined though. Looking online we found another location of that store but there was a different listing that caught our eye, WaXed Out Candle Gallery. They had an opening at 1pm. Whoohoo! I even called to make sure they were open. We arrived 5 minutes early and I was so pleased with how this place looked. Lekesha greeted us and there was fun music playing. It was super comfortable. There was amazing art on the walls. Lekesha started by telling us that they take artists applications to show their art. We were able to get our wax, mix it with it our scents and colors and when we came back after an hour our candles were finished. They looked amazing!!! Smelled even better!! Can't wait to light it!! Will I be back? Yes. Fun activity for a great price.

A group of my friends and I had been wanting to take one of their bumblebee craft classes, but none of the scheduled dates worked for all of us. I reached out to the store, and they were kind enough to set up a private class just for our group. That level of customer service meant so much and made it easy for us to plan a fun girls' night. One of the best parts is that you're welcome to bring your own food and drinks, so it really becomes a relaxed, social experience. During the class, everyone was making the large and small bees, but I asked if I could make a chicken instead. Without hesitation, they happily accommodated my request. Our group had every skill level imaginable, from complete beginners to experienced crafters, and the instructors were incredibly patient with all of us. They took the time to help each person, and every project turned out so cute. We all left proud of what we had created. On top of that, Aerie Lane generously partnered with our organization to host a fundraiser, with proceeds benefiting a local charity. Their willingness to support the community says so much about the kind of people they are. Finally someone sitting at a table told us what to do. After about 15 minutes, one of the people working there came over to us and began giving us directions on how to work with the clay and a few utensils they had to use on the clay. He kept saying, just do whatever you want to do with the clay, and we didn't know what our options were "to do with the clay". When I asked for examples of what we could do, they really had no examples, and he pointed to work that was on the shelves that other people had done. It was very frustrating. We felt like little kids given some play doh. So we were supposed to get a call when our projects were done, no phone call. I finally called and our projects had been done a couple weeks prior. When I went to pick them up, they were on a shelf outside the studio, so I had no interaction with anybody when I went to pick our projects up. I would not suggest anyone go to this studio. They run it like a kids play doh class??

We buy almost everything exclusively at the Collector's Centre. The owners and staff are incredibly friendly and we usually find ourselves staying well after our puchase is completed to chat. They are happy to hold any item or do special purchases. This is a great to find gifts from Dept. 56, Enesco, and Jim Shore for Christmas or any other holiday. They have a great selection of figurines and ornaments. Check them out next time you are in St. Charles. Highly recommended.

The prices have gone up (then again what hasn't) but the quality is still great. But even with that the prices range from very affordable to oh my! On my recent visit I just bought a couple of beautiful stone animal carvings. If you are in old town St. Charles and like Native American art work then by all means stop in. And be careful with the little parrot whose sign says "Yes I do bite. I love people they taste like chicken!" LOL
