    Joy Guaranteed

BUYER BEWARE!! No doubt the worst experience of duping we've come across. Went to the framing shop at Michaels Chandler to get a cherished poster framed and NOTHING but hassles and hurdles from start to finish. Pickup was late by a week, we called and discovered they mixed the orders up which cost us an additional week, four trips back and forth attempting to get our pre-paid frame only to discover the staff (Brandon in particular) marred the mat and wouldn't take responsibility nor would the manager Crystal after a lengthy call on her part to her boss. Asked for a refund and nada. My wife walked away in tears. Their corporate sig's say "You're going to love it!!! GUARANTEED" and "Joy Guaranteed" are hogwash, both mantra's should be removed from their wall. A total waste of money, time and gas. DEFINITELY NOT customer centric. Show us don't tell us. We'll never go back nor should you. Awful!

Came for some things to create a "creative gift wrapping" present for a party we were going to. It was white elephant with a twist...you had to present in a creative, non-traditional gift wrapping. After doing some on-line research, I found the cutest idea of a snowman so we headed to Michael's for materials. We worked with Michelle, who was simply magnificent! She had a box they were going to toss for the base and helped us with the ideas for the rest of project. Project completed and we had some materials left over so returned what was unopened and unused. Again, Michelle was gracious and friendly and loved the final pictures I showed her of our project. Great experience and huge shout-out to Michelle!

I can't believe I'm reviewing a Michael's, but here we are. The customer service at point of sale is pretty awful. I was originally going to go to self-checkout because I was in a rush. Terri since 2018 called out to me from behind the cashwrap stating she was available, too. I didn't want to be rude by blatantly choosing to check out with a machine than a human who went out of her way to make her presence known. When I greeted Terri and made small talk as she scanned my purchase, another customer finished self-checkout and started exiting holding a basket. Terri interrupted what I was saying to her by barking at this customer to place her basket at a certain location. We had a ribbon promotion that wasn't being applied at checkout. I explained where I saw the buy 2 get 2 free marketing. Terri scanned the barcode to check on a handheld device and told me it wasn't part of the promo so I asked my husband to take a picture of the marketing on the endcap. I had to show Terri the color ribbon was the same as my selection from the picture of the ribbons on that endcap. During this interaction, Terri also chastised me for talking to her when people were talking in her ear via store radio...I wasn't trying to be rude since I couldn't hear if someone was speaking to her via her radio earpiece. It took two people--another associate Kai since 2021, who was very efficient and friendly, along with a manager--to come and help Terri ring the promotional pricing from the POS not applying it. Terri first suggested to void the entire transaction. I asked if we could just ring the ribbons separately since I didn't want them to scan the entirety of the purchase again since I had already waited a long time. At this point, the line items for the ribbons had already been voided, so it would have saved more time to just ring them separately. Then when it came time to pay, I had to tell Terri twice I had a gift card I want to use before my credit card as tender. Terri sighed and visibly showed her frustration when she had to manually apply the gift card as tender. She also needed to get assistance from Kai...you would think a team member who has been working at Michael's since 2016 can handle a transaction. She probably just needs more training before being unleashed on regular customers. When I was leaving, I could clearly hear Terri complaining about our interaction with her coworker. If you're going to vent about your own incompetence, at least do it in the break room. It's no wonder this is the lowest-rated Michael's in The East Valley.

WHAT'S IN THE BOX???…read more Don't lose your head if you are on the hunt for sports cards, you can just come here. There is a lot to offer in this small shop. There is so much packed into this small space but offers memorabilia and collectibles from all eras and a genres. From sports cards to pokemon to garbage pail kids, to comics, to boxing. If you are looking for cards to sign, there are plenty of single player cards to sort through. The amount of singles they have is endless. It was fun rummaging through the boxes. It was like the old days looking for hidden gems and Easter Eggs in the 8 for $10 boxes. If you have a card addiction you can find your fix here. They do box breaks on a regular basis. My first experience was exceptional. I called and spoke to Sam who was super friendly and helpful. I informed him that I was looking for a specific player's card and because of my urgency, plus the scarcity of the random player I was in need of, he took the time to look through their assortment of singles to find me one and held it for me by the time I was able stop by that afternoon. I was grateful and impressed with the service to go above and beyond. I definitely want to return, though, it is a bit of a drive. That might be a good thing that I am not close, so I am not always in there going broke HAHA

They have an assortment of sports cards and memorabilia and friendly staff. The bad: If you need to sell any autographs or memorabilia make sure to call ahead. Only the owner is allowed to make those types of deals and if he's not in on that day you're out of luck. The friendly staff did let me know most small card shops have this policy though!

I kinda walked around the store, checked out the track, and was really excited to get back into the hobby of RC cars. When I came back in from checking the track out, two of the employees including Jason (think that was his name) and what appeared to be a customer/friend were just shooting the breeze all the way at the end of the counter in the corner. They proceeded to all look up at me laugh, look away from me, and look again and proceeded to laugh again. Maybe it was a misunderstanding on my part, but from a customer or human aspect it felt as if I was being laughed at. Maybe it was how I was dressed, maybe it's because I was uneducated and asked the initial guy some questions. I walked out Needless to say, it discouraged me in that moment from wanting to get back into the hobby just due to that. Seemed like they were all buddies from how they were standing there talking. That being said, I'm taking my money to another store here in town and not letting this poor experience ruin the idea of getting back into the hobby. Maybe it was a small drop in this companies bucket, it would have been probably a $380 sale with tax; but hey I'll go spend that somewhere else. I wish you the best with your business, and I hope my experience doesn't happen to someone else. Be it that was possibly unintentional, it's definitely not how you behave with someone who is nervous about trying something again that they haven't done in years.

The staff is fantastic. It was my first time in and they made me feel like a regular. No pressure felt at all. They have a great selection of graded and display cards, as well as a ton of boxes to look throw at a huge range of prices. Loved the vibe inside. Their prices were very fair IMO. People were coming in making trades and selling cards as well. Overall, I can't wait to come back again!

When you're talking about a card shop, I feel like there are a few areas to look at: service,…read moreselection, and overall vibe. Period. Trading Card Club is a relatively small location but comes in big when it comes to those three categories. The service is great. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable, easy to talk to, and I never once got the sense I was being taken advantage of or was just another customer. They treat my son very well and seem to treat all their young clientele very friendly, which is obviously a key thing that brought us back. You should note that if the shop gets busy, there's limited staff--trading card shops can't have 20 people working the counters--so you may have to be patient. If patience isn't your game, trading cards might not be the right place for you to be anyway, but always enjoy the friendly attitudes and vibes this shop gives off. Whether you're hanging around, opening a box, or just browsing, it's always a chill experience. They also run events and promotions, so keep an eye out for that. And I would note: do your due diligence before bringing in things to sell, because they're not going to buy a giant box of worthless baseball cards, nor are they going to want to comb through 2,000 of your old grandfather's card collection. They will buy solid, valuable assets that they can resell effectively. It is a shop that will obviously give you store credit if desired, which will likely exceed the amount of cash you'll get, but the amount of times I've seen people bring in stuff that they just would never buy in a million years is plentiful. So if you're looking to sell a junk box of cards, I would try Facebook Marketplace and not this shop. Also--side bonus--they have a shop puppy that sometimes hangs out in the front.
