Roney Marin and his co-worker Marvin could not have been better. They were lovely, professional,…read morewonderful workers and did a fabulous job installing a new floor in our pre-war Manhattan apartment kitchen--a rigid vinyl plank flooring that I bought from Home Depot. Roney has been laying floors for 30 years and it shows. Both he and Marvin are pros and work diligently, fast, and the work is excellent. Here is a picture of the kitchen with its new floor. I hesitated using them because they didn't have enough reviews but believe me, they know what they are doing, take pride in their work, are great to work with and do a wonderful job. I HIGHLY recommend Marin Wood Floors Service for all floor work. Be sure to post a review on Yelp after they do work for you. They deserve to have many, many more 5 star reviews.

I chose Carpets 46 for their glowing reviews and the fact that it was a family business, what I was used to dealing with. I made an appointment with Luke. I was inspired by the beautiful choices and left loving my choice but hoping I made the right one. Luke arrived at my home to measure and brought the showroom sample, confirming it was the right choice. Installation happened sooner than I expected and I couldn't be happier. It's beautiful. I love the way it feels on my feet. Makes my cosy little bedroom feel even warmer and more inviting. While this place isn't up the block, like my last one, it's definitely worth the trip. I'm thrilled that out of all the google suggestions, I was lucky to find this gem.

This was the second time I've used Monk's for painting projects at my home in Morris Plains, and…read moreonce again I was extremely happy with the results. The first project, several years ago, involved painting multiple interior rooms and crown molding. Most recently, I hired them to paint three new structural porch columns and my front door. While that may sound like a straightforward job, it really wasn't. Black structural columns are not something you see every day, so preparation, product selection, and attention to detail were critical to getting the look I wanted and ensuring the finish would hold up to the elements. Bob came out to provide the estimate. He was professional, easy to work with, and, most importantly, took the time to listen to what I was trying to achieve and the concerns I had about the project. He was also able to get the work scheduled within the same week. I worked closely with Ron, who I believe was the lead painter on the job. He was incredibly knowledgeable and detail-oriented. I supplied the INSL-X primer recommended for fiberglass columns and discussed paint options with him. He agreed with the approach and helped ensure the project was done the right way rather than just the fastest way. The work took two full days and exceeded my expectations. The crew took great care to protect my brand-new porch, covering the decking and railings thoroughly so there was no risk of paint getting where it didn't belong. What really stood out was the follow-up. Both Bob and Ron checked in independently after the work was completed to make sure I was satisfied. They also made it clear that if any issues came up, they would come back and make it right. The pricing was fair, the workmanship was excellent, and the customer service was outstanding from start to finish. It's refreshing to work with a company that still takes pride in doing quality work and standing behind it. I plan to use Monk's again next year for additional interior painting projects and would not hesitate to recommend them.

They refinished and stained the floors, redid all the paint throughout the house (inside and out), replaced all the windows so that they actually open and close, let's see... there was more, but it's been so long! Very professional and open, honest, and looking to help you find your balance of value and quality. They are my first choice to come back to any time I have work to do - I note they don't do _everything_ I'm looking for (they'll redo my deck but not the walkway leading to it?), but for what they do, I trust them 100%.
