The selection of the items I wanted was decent enough (Monroe usually has a better selection but I was in the area) and the shelves for the middle were pushed so close to the end caps you couldn't fit a cart through there without lifting the back end up and over. If everything is the path we want for every kind of hobby, time usurping activity you could imagine. It is fun just browsing the store isles and shelf, there's so many things it's quite outstanding. You'll be hard to not find something that you need for whatever crafts on your table. This is the only location I'm aware of around me and it's still about 45 minutes away from my house.

I walked in and was greeted by the most beautiful sights: All the shelves? Fully stocked! The sprinkles? BEAUTIFULLY ORGANIZED BY COLOR. The seasonal decor? OVERFLOWING IN THE AISLES AND ON SALE. The registers? Operating self-checkouts a plenty! The carts? Every wheel worked! And they literally gleamed in the fluorescent light. The aisles? Wide and smartly organized! I might have gotten a little tear in my eye, no joke. Did I text everyone I knew raving about how perfect it was? I might have! For my money there are few things better than a beautiful playground of creativity right in front of you! In the end I didn't have a ton of time to browse at the level I would have liked but I was able to grab some new spring doormats on sale and a few other small things. I'm in the process of redoing my office so I grabbed some brush cleaning solution and a jar to help me reclaim all my ruined brushes from their coatings of dried paint. One day this location will suffer the same fate as all the others--glue gets spilled, a pint of paint falls and splatters everywhere, the carts will rust and the front left on all of them will cease to move after being jammed with scraps of yarn. But until then, I will gratefully enjoy browsing what will be henceforth called, "the good Michaels."* *FYI the previous holder of the "good Michaels" title was the location in Brighton.

My only complaint is that the pieces take a week to be fired, glazed, and ready for pickup, but I know that's not necessarily in their control. Cinnamon scented pine cones, angel lights, Christmas lights, santa earrings, wreaths, etc. Check out the clever clothes pin clips and sturdy used to hang my Christmas cards this year. Also found a beautiful wreath (& the hook) to hang it on our front door - HALF OFF! Can you tell Michael's has, once again, warmed my holiday spirit heart. I suggest avoiding the busiest days - Saturdays & Friday nights. Especially now with limited staff due to COVID. The lady who helped me find the correct matts was very helpful, but I was totally surprised when she said it probably wouldn't be cut until the next day since she was working by herself. Okay, no problem, I can come back tomorrow to pick it up, right? Wrong! I have called every day since, and it still has not been cut. Either no one is working, or they don't come in until 5 o'clock, or they went home sick, or they say maybe tomorrow, they will have someone call me. I heard that twice now, and not once has my phone rang. I strongly suggest going elsewhere. When they open today, I will be calling to see if it is finished. If not, they should refund my money so I can go to their competitor and get it done. It is where I should have gone to begin with. I cannot attach a picture since I have not received the product.

There's a vintage area with tons of old, vintage papers, photographs, sheet music, postcards, photo albums, negatives, etc. Loads of scrap fabric and remnants, yarn, embroidery floss, notions, scrap paper, scrapbooking materials, stickers, stencils, even industrial supplies like foam scraps, and household materials like pill bottles (empty of course), lids, jars, storage containers, craft kits, old calendars, big bins of wine corks, pens, etc. They have a HUGE selection of old National Geographic issues, some going back as far as the 1930s. Perfect for collages or collecting. They also have a few machines like scales, microscopes, sewing machines, etc. As well as a few tools, wood and metal working items, just bits and bobs of tons of things to sort through. It changes all the time so stop in regularly to see what they get in! And the best part? It's all SO cheap and keeps all these things out of landfills (56K lbs just last year)! Upcycling FTW! Some things are in better condition than others but if you're the creative type you will be inspired by all you can find here. And since things are so affordable you can really take risks and noodle around without worrying about wasting your supplies. Want more inspo? Two of the older ladies working started randomly talking about guns and their views on using them…read moreand I didn't think much of it until I was heading towards the front of the store and heard the same lady who was talking about guns say something under her breath. Once I got to the register an item price scanned wrong. I bought it to a younger cashiers attention which she acknowledged was happening all day. She went to correct the issue but gave me a a full refund for the item that scanned wrong in my hands which I thought she wanted me to go back to the self checkout since that is what I used. Instead of taking my confusion and explaining what she was doing she stated I'm not going to let you walk out of here in reference to thinking I was going to take the money and items and leave despite me not showing any interest or movement of doing that. Because of my experience I just asked for a full refund instead of the partial and they got a defensive and told me I received the full refund. Instead of making a bigger scene I left to go to my car to check the receipt and money and went back in because they didn't refund 1 of 2 items. When I came back in the older cashier that was making the comments and was there when I asked for the full refund said oh s**t... I never made a scene, wasn't rude, or anything and yet was treated poorly. I got the full refund and I will not be supporting places that treat people like this.
