Incredibly understaffed. I feel bad for the workers there. No one in sight to helped me so I walked out.

When looking for help in finding foamboard for a photography project. the person in framing didn't even come to the desk, just yelled something from the backroom. I couldn't hear her, so she yelled louder and pointed telling me to look further down the store. I found nothing other than 3 solitary boards, one of which was damaged, and all three were too thick. I went back to see if she could help; again, she simply yelled something. I grabbed one that wasn't damaged figuring I might be able to cut it to size and use it. I politely told the cashier of my less than desirble experience with the framer. She didn't even acknowledge my concern, instead she asked me if I would like a Michael's Credit Card. No Thank you. THAT SAID, I love Michael's online shopping experience and have purchased $$$ of paint, varnish, boards, and brushes that way. The turnarund time is excellent and the products are always in perfect condition. I urge folks to stay out of this store and support the online alternative. read more

I always have a great time and great experience shopping in this Michaels store on Ford Road. I buy a lot of yarn here as well as flowers for artificial arrangements. I have found the folks that work here to be friendly and helpful. That said I recently had an opportunity to use the framing department here for a very special request to frame in a shadowbox dried flowers from a wedding a year ago along with the actual invitation. Hannah did the work and made an exceptionally beautiful shadowbox for me. I had the opportunity to present the gift to my neighbors who are celebrating their one-year anniversary and they were just amazed at how beautiful it was. Thank you Hannah! read more

A sales person named "Cat or Kat" was so helpful and kind! This store had great deals and some pretty nice people too! I frequent their dollar racks because I am a chemo-Angel and I send small mailable gifts to ppl going thru chemotherapy! I love to do little craft projects and I make my own wreaths too...so I pick up the little glue gun, fake flowers , butterflies and such! Whenever Ive asked for help , theres someone around each corner to head me in the right direction or take me to where I want to go! The girl that helped me on this particular day, went out of her way to find me what I needed! If you are a scrapbooker, beader, a crafter of any kind....this particular Michael's is the best and "Cat or Kat"is the most helpful employee that Ive ever run into there! read more

Here is the beginning of the review I started to write when I was here in 2011: Nice store except for the leak in the ceiling! Not as big a selection as Middlebelt Rd. Didn't have the yarn I needed that I originally bought at Middlebelt. Now it's 2016 and I'm back in town and went to the store to buy some knitting supplies. They evidently fix the leak because I didn't see any sign of it after 5 years, lol. The store was nicely laid out and well-stocked. I had no problem finding someone to help me. I was there right before closing so someone came up to ask me if I was looking for anything in particular. I told her what it was and she said they didn't carry that item. Once I found that out I left with a couple items I grabbed while I was there. I was having trouble with my phone when I checked out but the cashier was very helpful and I got a decent discount in spite of my phone problems. I like this location fine. I'll probably be back before I leave the area. read more

I'm hoping my experience was related to the upcoming holidays. Michael's has some great deals, awesome door busters, and fantastic prices, yet the lines were so long. I waited for nearly 25 minutes with my young son buried my in cart of items becoming crankier by the minute. Also, there were several items on my list that were out. Normally, I do a store pickup order at this store. It's so easy to order the things I need online and pick them up hassle free. This time, however, there were many, many things labeled as "out of stock" at the store on the website. When I got to Michael's, I found some of the items in stock. Overall, it was a confusing experience with the website not matching the inventory in store. While I was able to find some things, many were out of stock and the lines were very long. However, price wise, Michael's couldn't be beat. read more

The Michael's at 41904 Ford Road keeps a good amount of stock in all the items they offer. The store is kept clean and the bathrooms are kept up. There is plenty of parking in the lot though it is difficult sometimes to get a place close up. There is a large 2 lane space to cross to get from the parking lot proper to the store so look both ways as traffic can move along there briskly. Approaching the parking lot is sometimes difficult from Ford because traffic can be heavy there. Caution is the word along there. As for the store itself it is well arranged though because they have so many items it can be difficult to locate a specific item. The people that work there try hard but there seems to be some managerial pressure that seems to suck the fun out of working there. It's not terribly bad but I have seen incidents too often. They also seem to have difficulty with coupons, especially online coupons through the phone. It is very difficult to get floor help if you need assistance in the aisles and rather than leading a customer to a product they will leave off with pointing and walking away. read more

To quote Shania: You don't impress me much. I am not, I repeat -- not -- a crafter. Gluing things together and sewing on buttons about describes the extent of my abilities in a city burgeoning with punk artisan wunderkind. Michaels is both a disconcerting and accepting place for my limited array of talents, taunting me with numerous projects I'd never do and catering to my simplistic needs. I popped in on Christmas Eve for supplies to decorate a gift to my beau. Marquis Cantonford, affectionately known as Mr. Cackles, required accoutrements for the season. I went in search of antlers and stylish decorations for his pot, lest he be woefully underdressed for his presentation Christmas morn. For the record, Mr. Cackles is a 4" dwarf cactus. Perhaps I wasn't seeing Michaels at its best after being pillaged by marauding teens and mothers eager to get the 70% off discounts on Christmas items. Disarray littered the store, shelves drooping with a few last items as survivors of the shell-shocked wreckage. The sections I visited were in better condition, but my goose chase for doll clothes ended in failure. Do crafters not need straw hat bases and the rest for decorations anymore? Apparently not. I roamed, confused and a bit befuddled, in search of alternate choices. My last stop, in the scrapbooking section for stickers to embellish Mr. Cackles' ceramic pot, led to the greatest frustration. The selection was good, but the ubiquitous 40% off this and 2-for-1 that signs are *entirely* misleading. Unlike other retailers, Michaels throws together various brands higgledy-piggledy, and then slaps four or five giant "sale" signs overtop the entire rack. Bit misleading when the sale is for one brand, and none of the signs correspond to a particular row or hook or stack. So I grabbed a few things, satisfied how I might put them together, and went up to the register. I waited in a rather long line to find out half the scrapbooking materials in fact were not on sale, and the irate 16-year-old cashier stared at me like I was a particularly offensive bug when I asked what the discount *did* apply to. I kept smiling (Christmas Eve, after all), and quietly ducked back into the scrapbooking section after check out to see if this was user error or something else. Nope, the stickers and stick-ons and sticky clings were all randomly mixed up and the signs hanging among them didn't even correspond to what was on sale. I checked some of the 10,000 individual labels on the wall, all cryptic half-words and weird numbers, to see if any were labeled on sale. Clearance was, but the rest of the merchandise wasn't even in the right place. Long story short: disorganization loses sales, and I am leery about entering this unpleasant realm of strange. read more

I try really hard to give good reviews. Before I write a bad one, I make an effort to revisit at least three times before I make a decision. Well, after NUMEROUS times coming to this location, I continue to get misinformation on how to use coupons & poor customer service. One minute you can use more than one coupon, the next you can't. I was told only two per visit, but I saw a woman Ouse a (2) 40% coupons and (1) 50% coupon in one transaction. Next time, I'll document my experience so Headquarters can take care of this. The girl was so rude to me when I asked her the policy. It was unnecessary. read more

This is a great store the store is clean and the workers are friendly. They have a great variety of craft supplies. They always have what l'm looking for. The prices are reasonable and l enjoy coming here. I will continue to come here for my needs. read more
