So happy to have come here. I needed a few accessories for Christmas present and I was pleasantly surprised to see everything I needed was 60% off. Huge savings for me. I needed wrapping paper. Which was buy 1 get 1 free. I needed these small twig wreaths which were $1.79 red and god berries picks were $1.99 with 60% off. Making them .80 cents. I saved so much money with their Black Friday sale, even though it was Saturday. Also, the greatest sale was buy 1 ribbon, get 3 free! Cha Ching! So grateful for these sales. I'm basically done my Christmas shopping. Now comes the fun part of wrapping and decorating the gifts. read more

Are there better Michaels than the Hill Country Galleria? Probably. But this one is good enough for the non-crafty person like myself. Every aisle is filled with too much stuff you don't need but never the stuff you came to buy. Employees have to deal with all the customers who can't find that one thing they have to have but it's not in stock. This is my Michaels experience wherever I go. But I'm writing this review for one specific reason and that is the person in the framing department named Payton. He is an excellent example of customer service in action. This guy helps you figure out what you need, how to get it done, and where to get the supplies. Then when you come back because you can't remember something he said, he helps you again. Patient, knowledgeable, and professional. You couldn't hope for more! read more

If I could give negative stars I would. My child was playing with toys but misbehaving and not listening to me so I picked him up and left that isle. I spanked him and said no, you need to listen to mommy. Then this little brat of a worker walked over asked me not to "hit" my child in their store. This was NONE of her business and this was not me "hitting" him. This was me disciplining him. Obviously something the poor employee with a weird haircut didn't get enough of. I said oh yes of course and threw my stuff down right then and left that store. How DARE she/they and tell me how to parent MY child. I swear I will never go back there and I will encourage everyone I know to not go back there. One thing a mother does not need is sass about how to treat her own kid. She's lucky I didn't punch her in the face with her stupid comment. read more

I had two pictures framed at Michaels in Bee Cave, they did an excellent job!!!! I am so pleased with the results.

coupons do not work at registers. sale prices are either posted wrong or not honored at check out. wish there was a hobby lobby nearby.

I can't believe how bad the service in this store has gotten. The last 3 times I've been there I have been shocked at the attitude and treatment I've received from their employees. My main use of Michaels is the framing. I've done enough work there now, I know I like Cierra. She's easy to deal with and helps me make good choices, including sizing to make the price tolerable. I haven't had a negative experience with anyone else in the framing department, but I'll still pick her to handle receiving and defining my job. They've not made any mistakes on any of my jobs, and I've handed them some things that could have been easier to work with. I think they've framed 4 things for me now. Only money and wall space stops me from doing more. read more

This is the WORST Michaels I've ever been to. I've been here at least 20 times because it's the closest one to my house. Almost every time I've been disappointed. They are usually out of most of the items I need and staffing is VERY LOW. Last week one guy was carrying out boxes to the trash and I asked if I could have them and because they had lights in them (boxes for twinkle lights that have a sample built in the box) he wouldn't give them to me so he just put them in the dumpster. What a waste. There is NEVER anyone in the floor to help. So I've decided to order online and do curbside pickup. As sit in my car waiting (25 minutes now and still going....) for my delivery this reinforces my low rating for this store. read more

Purchased $200 worth of Christmas decorations last Saturday (12/11). When I got home (I live 45 minutes away) I realized the cashier had not given me the largest bag of my purchases. I called the store and asked them to hold the items until I could be in to pick it up, expecting I would return the next day. I was unable to come back until 1 week later (Sat 12/18) and found that my items had been RETURNED to the shelves for others to purchase, even though I had already paid for them and it had been the cashier at fault who did not give me my bag in the first place. The manager Deedee told me she had been the one to put them back out, and tried to make it seem like it was MY fault because I wasn't able to return to the store within 24 hours. Terrible service experience. This is the closest Michaels to me and I will be driving even further now or ordering online. read more

The plusses- store is clean, plenty of parking and friendly staff. The minuses - not a large inventory of things that I can find elsewhere (like boondoggle string) and not a huge selection of crochet and knitting yarns. Men - here's everything you need to know: there's a Best Buy across the street, and a bench inside Michaels (it's at the back by the rest rooms). Restrooms are usually clean, and the staff leaves you alone if you sit at the bench, even if you sit for more than three hours. As for the actual content in the store, I can tell you two things. First, there is nothing here to interest men - even the models section is kind of bare. Second, my wife loves this place and can stay here in excess of three hours. This location is wonderful! The customer service is great and I didn't even know about the point system until the cashier told me about it. I normally go to the location off Brodie, but got off work early and thought to try this location out. I am glad that I did. I went around 10am and so everyone was busy putting up new product and building displays; but once I had a question they were eager to help me. Also the Martha Stewart paints were buy one get one half off! score! I will be shopping here more often :) read more

ALWAYS Understaffed!! 1 or 2 cashiers ever!!! I've walked out many times because of it. FORGET finding someone to help you on the floor. Can't tell you the number of times I walked out because of the poor service. I'm going somewhere else or Amazon next time. read more

I hadn't set foot in this store for quite a while since being treated extremely rudely by one of the employees some time back. I can't remember her name. This experience, luckily, has been outweighed by the good ones once I decided to try again. I had almost given a one-star review over that past one, but thanks to the recent experiences, the employees I've encountered since have earned back quite a few of those stars. A few weeks ago I was in the store buying some toy gardening tools on clearance for my preschool gardening students. I needed just three or so more of a certain item so every student could have their own, so asked one of their cashiers, Leslie, if they had any more hidden anywhere. She sid she didn't think so, then proceeded to call around the other Michael's locations to find more for me! What a nice thing to do. (And she found them for me! Thank you, Leslie!) Also, I had broken down in front of this store another time and they were nothing but helpful. One of the employees even used her own car and jumper cables to help me (I'm sorry I can't remember your name! I need to go back in and find that out. This location is my favorite Michael's in Austin. The inventory is amazing and well merchandised. Most of the staff go out of their way to be helpful. Some even remember my dog's name! Prices are competitive and they accept competitor coupons too! It is easy to shop here and returns are hassle free. read more

Very rude cashier ... l believe that her name is grumpy ... older woman ... exceedingly nasty, rude, unaccommodating ... this is not the first incident with grumpy ... l will never ever return to this facility ... and now l will write a letter to corporate regarding her attitude. First I want to state that this is a well organized store, it looks great and very clean!! I've been a customer for many many years and have never had a problem. Loved this place! Until recently, I had a very eye opening experience. First off, this store is pretty overpriced in comparison to other Michaels locations. (in my opinion). So, I went to get an estimate from the framing department. The woman assisting me was somewhat helpful but had this attitude that was not appreciated. She gave me a $87 estimate on a custom frame for this painting I got abroad. That was a lot of money. For wood. And stretching. After a long altercation and feeling like I was being ripped off, I left upset. Just recently, I called Hobby Lobby in South Austin, requested an estimate FOR THE EXACT SAME THING. $22 with everything included. I hate writing this review for this store at this location, but honestly - I don't support business that hike up a price due to the location. $87 is insane. So, that being said. The framing department may be a separate entity from the store overall, but this encounter is one I wish i could have avoided. read more

they posted a big art paper sale today, 2 for 1. I needed watercolor paper so was the first one in the store to get the paper. They only had ONE item in stock of what I needed. So then I went online to order the paper but they were out of stock of some of what I wanted to buy, and they charge an extra 6 dollars on shipping oversized items so even though they put things on sale ultimately they are overpriced because of the extra shipping charges despite "free shipping" on purchase totals of 49.00. Kudos to the framing department. They made a bad ass shadow box showcasing some war medals for me in the height of the holiday season and under the scrutiny of me checking on said medals several times during the week. This is something I wanted to make sure I would only have to do once and I couldn't have been more pleased about the results. It made me look like a badass over the holidays. Visited this Michaels location on the way home from work. I was hoping to pick up some supplies for a small project I am working on. The location is great, but they really didn't have a great selection. I was looking for a few items that would typically be at any hobby store (various width masking tape, china markers, etc.) Unfortunately, neither I or the clerk could find what I needed.
