I have been utilizing Hill Dental Clinic in Allen, Texas, and its predecessor, Dr. Williams, for…read moredecades. Dr. Williams was a wonderful doctor and took care of me for over ten years. Dr. Hill succeeded him and was not bad, but the costs at Hill Dental Clinic began to increase. Despite the clinic being out of network for my insurance--and costing me more--I decided to remain a patient of Dr. Hill. After Dr. Hill passed, the clinic came under new management. Costs rose yet again, but I still chose to stay. In March of this year, I went in for my semiannual cleaning and checkup. During the visit, the hygienist recommended a "deep cleaning." Instead of a few hundred dollars for a routine visit, this "deep cleaning" required multiple appointments. When asked if I wanted an estimate, I said, "Why not?" The estimate was approximately $2,100, with my portion after insurance listed as $360. Now, after going back and forth with the insurance company, I have paid over $1,000--and it appears I'm still liable for another $600. How could the original estimate have been so wrong? I went in for a routine cleaning and checkup and ended up with nearly $2,000 in out-of-pocket charges. After this experience, I canceled my next routine appointment at Hill Dental Clinic and chose another dentist who is in-network. I don't appreciate the "bait and switch."

I guess from reading a previous review, it seems that it's common practice for this office to…read moredeceive you by giving you a false estimate and then after the work is done, claim the insurance company lied or didn't give full information and then the send you a ridiculous bill charging you the difference. I was very specific when I realized they were out of network. I asked them to call and find out what my portion would be. If it was too high I would have to go to find an in network dentist. Of course they didn't want me to go somewhere so trusting them I went ahead with the work.

5 STARS AREN'T ENOUGH! 10/10. THE BEST…read more Dr. Toney & his staff are phenomenal. I have been going to him for longer than I can remember, and love them, but I had to leave a review after today. I live in Austin now, but haven't found any dentist who comes close. So when I found out I had a cavity (which I've never had before) I was really, really anxious about the numbing/drilling/etc. and didn't want just any dentist to do it. I worked out my schedule so that I could fly to Allen after a work trip to see him. When they said this was going to be the easiest part of my week, it really was. He gave me some laughing gas, numbed my mouth with some gel & let that start working before injecting a tiny bit of numbing, then waited a bit more before giving me the full numbing dose -- I genuinely never felt anything. I listened to music and they talked me through everything that was going to happen so I was at ease the whole time. Never thought I'd say this, but it was such a pleasant experience. BEST PART: Gemma (the hygienist assisting) asked me if I had any big plans and I told her about flying in and my plans to drive back to Austin today. She came back a couple minutes later with two "road trip goodie bags" for my mom and I that had some coffee mugs, Starbucks gift cards and a gift card for Dairy Queen to stop for lunch on the way. Over the top nice. TLDR: Look no further, best dentist & staff on the planet. The end.

They often remember my name or small details about me (where I work, who my family members who come are), and as I was in the waiting room, I heard one of the hygienists call somebody back and enter into a casual conversation about the patient's motorcycle. Everybody there is so gentle, and will stop immediately if you're uncomfortable at all, and try to correct it so you're as comfortable as possible. It's the little things like putting chapstick on your dry lips or offering a warm towel to dry the stray water droplets off your face after any work you have done that sets this office apart. Today specifically, Stephanie I think it was impressed me a lot by not only telling me about the cavities she suspected, but also took pictures of them, and went over the pictures and xrays with me pointing out what looked suspicious to her. This was my first time seeing her, but I love her already! I recommend this office to anybody and everybody! It's fantastic :)

I would be doing everyone in the city of Dallas a disservice if I didn't alert you on how…read moreincompetent this doctor's office is. 1.) My appointment was scheduled at 4:00pm, I didn't see Dr. Coke until 5:00pm. When I finally met the physician, she apologized, prescribed me medication for bacteria only and said her office will follow up with me through email and said she would wave my consultation fee since my appointment time was pushed back to closing time. I was rushed out by Ashley and was told to follow up through email since it was closing time. No surgery date. No plan of care. Just out the door around 5:30pm. Waiting wasn't a problem, the lack of communication for surgery date and consultation fee was an issue and it gets worst. 2.) I call the office back for a doctor's note. They had a hard time comprehending why I needed a doctor's note for my employer but I had patience and told them it was requested for me to take paid sick time. So, they send me another patients plan of estimate with their first name, last name, address, and how much their surgery is going to cost. They have sent me another patients information instead of sending me a simple doctors note. I called them back to let them know. They tell me to destroy it. They will send me the doctors note. It gets worse. 3.)I call the office today to pick up medicine prior to surgery. She says: " you pick up medication after surgery not before" so I arrive for my surgery, Im strapped up with tele monitors, oxygen in nose, blood pressure machine hooked and all of a sudden the doctor comes in: We can't do your surgery because of your blood pressure. The medication we prescribed would have helped. ... This is the same exact I office I called hours before to ask about medication. And Ashley told me I had none to pick up.... I spent $100 worth of groceries for wisdom teeth healing, took off a full day of work, my 76 year old Aunt drove an hour from her home to the doctors office to be my driver. All for the doctor to cancel because of her office's incompetence? Save your money. Save your time. Save yourself.
