As a first-time Accutane patient, I often felt like it was assumed I already knew how everything worked, and when I didn't, there was very little guidance. The scheduling department was also very rude at times. After hours of trying to get in touch with someone, I was told I couldn't be seen until August and was made to feel like the situation was entirely on me. Only after finally speaking with a nurse was I able to get the help I needed. At my fifth appointment, I was suddenly told my insurance didn't cover out-of-state visits, despite having already been seen there multiple times without anyone ever mentioning this. Had I known that from the beginning, I could have planned accordingly. I take responsibility for anything I may have misunderstood or missed, but I wish the office would also acknowledge that better communication could have prevented a lot of this. I'm only staying to finish my Accutane course, but overall this experience has been emotionally exhausting. Anyone who has struggled with acne knows how difficult that journey can be, and I wish I had felt more supported throughout the process.

TL;DR: I spent over $17,500 at Finesse for liposuction that completely failed--and was left with…read moresevere scarring and zero results. I had an unsuccessful liposuction procedure with Dr. Shektman at Finesse. During my initial consultation, their salesperson, Kim, assured me that the procedure would dramatically improve my postpartum body. Based on these claims, I spent more than $17,500--with no positive outcome whatsoever. After the surgery clearly failed (which Kim, Joanna, and Dr. Shektman all acknowledged), they offered me a Morpheus8 treatment, claiming it could correct the skin folding caused by the liposuction. They said they'd "only" charge me an additional $500. I agreed, hoping to improve some of the damage done by lipo. That treatment was performed by their esthetician, Rachel--and it made things significantly worse. Six months later, my abdomen is still covered in severe scarring (see pics). When I sought help, they insisted I come in for a five-minute evaluation by their nurse, Joanna, and esthetician, Rachel--neither of whom has the medical expertise to handle the kind of deep tissue scarring I experienced. Dr. Shektman's only recommendation was hydrocortisone, which is wildly inappropriate for subdermal scarring caused by a failed RF microneedling procedure. The bottom line is: I'm not wasting more time listening to cosmetic "professionals" who are clearly out of their depth and caused the damage in the first place. I've waited nearly a year to write this review, hoping that someone at Finesse--Dr. Shektman, Kim, anyone--would take responsibility and at least offer a partial refund. That never happened. I was misled about what results I could expect, and I now have permanent scarring and an even greater financial and emotional burden. I've since seen two board-certified dermatologists and spent even more money trying to fix the damage done by Dr. Shektman and Rachel. I feel betrayed, taken advantage of, and deeply disappointed. Please--do not trust this place. They'll say whatever they need to say to close the sale, but once you've paid and signed away your rights, you're on your own. The results don't matter to them. Your health and satisfaction don't matter to them. Ironically, I've had substantially better results using Semaglutide (Ozempic), which cost $400--not $17,500--and helped me lose 30 pounds in 5 months. No scarring. No lies. No emotional trauma. I wouldn't wish this experience on anyone.

All have been professional, talented,and had good patient skills. Doctors Rubenstein, Smith, and Merola are of particular note. Whether one's care is preventative or to address particular conditions, there are well equipped to cope. The dermatologists also coordinate well with other specialties. Cutting edge research is also an option. I have been in three research studies, and all were well done with entry information, personal care, and follow up. The clinic staff is among the best at Brigham. They are courteous, helpful, patient, and knowledgeable. At check-in and check-out there are always sufficient staff to meet the patient needs. Nursing staff are very helpful. Parking is made easier by a valet service. I will definitely continue to utilise Brigham Dermatology.

The office is conveniently on Beacon Street, his secretary was friendly and efficient, and my appointment was quick and painless. I had a biopsy done, and although I scheduled a follow-up appointment to go over the results, Dr. Bendetson gave me a call two days later with the results and ordered my prescription while I was still on the phone. He really took the time to get to know me in my short appointment, and made me feel comfortable when sometimes skin isn't a fun topic of conversation. He will definitely be my go-to dermatologist in the Boston-area, and I will recommend him to my friends/family.
