Dr. Stephen was my main dentist and was really great. He has since passed and now Dr. Mike is my dentist. He does a great job, is patient, makes you feel comfortable and he obviously learned from his father. He is only dentist I would go to. All staff is very friendly and helpful. read more

In my opinion, this father-son team is the best in Sacramento. They are very popular, which can make it difficult to get a last-minute appointment. However, they're definitely worth the wait. The doctors and staff are very friendly, helpful, considerate, and great at what they do. I recommend all my friends to their office. They are not affiliated with any particular dental insurance, but do take many. Just make sure that your insurance will allow you to see them. I cannot say enough good things about the Casagrande's. I would never go to any other dentist in the Sacramento area. read more

I started going to the Casagrande Dental Office 31 years ago! I've literally grown up with Dr. Steve ! I seen Dr Michael once and he's just like his Dad, caring, kind and friendly and a perfectionist. He added porcelain to one of my front teeth, matched and smoothed it perfectly, I've been very happy with the outcome. This is a wonderful group of people, every time Dr Steve greets me it's a reunion and we really are old pals!! I feel very comfortable. So happy I'll never have to go to any other office ever!! Dr Steve is the warmest, kindest, most genuine dentist you'd ever want treating you ! The "nice and friendly" gene runs in this family. Today I got a temporary crown put in by Dr. Mike, son of Dr. Stephen Casagrande. I raved about Dr. Steve whom I saw at my original office visit, and I will yelp the same for Dr. Mike. Talk about friendly. He made lots of small talk, but I could tell it was all genuine, and not just random banter, while waiting for my anesthetic to kick in. His main concern was that I was comfortable and didn't feel any pain whatsoever. He was very patient, kind, and professional....and so sweet, I almost left with a cavity! read more

Father and son, and staff, seem to be great people. But Michael installed my bridge, and could not get it to fit well. He kept taking it out and adjusting it by grinding away at it. Finally it fit and he put it in permanently. But the right side (the side with the bridge) of my mouth from then on had a gap. I thought I would get used to it. But it turned out that it was putting more pressure on the teeth on the other side of my mouth, which was not identified until I moved away from Sacramento. The other, left side of my mouth is always the side that contacts first, which caused two of my molars to break, one of which is getting a root canal tomorrow, and then a cap for both of the broken teeth. This is costing me a lot of money. If you have to go to the Casagrandes for treatment, I recommend the father Stephen, and not Michael. read more

I had my first dental checkup here today and it was great! I'm switching dentists because I moved and I really liked my last dentist so I was reluctant to see a new one. The Casagrandes came highly recommended by a fellow co-worker and they are friendly, professional, and fun. I had x-rays, and a cleaning but I don't need any further dental work at the moment so I'll have to update my review when I do. I'm getting prepped for orthodontic work, so my next visit will probably be another cleaning (I hope). The lady who did my cleaning was nice and very knowledgable--I learned a lot from her! She even did an oral cancer check which I've never had done before. I generally dread cleaning but my experience was pleasant and my gums aren't even sore afterwards! read more

I was referred to this office by a friend. The dentist's may be great...I have no idea...and I have interest in finding out if they are at this point. And, that's because Anika (the woman answering phones) is incredibly rude. She just kept asking what was wrong with me/my teeth over and over again. Once insurance was figured out, she admitted to me that she was concerned about me and other people coming to the clinic and not paying for things so their clinic has to eat the cost?!? Umm, so that is why you were rude to me? Geez, check your attitude and stop being so jaded. How awful. I'm not worried about money....the cost of your services...and I'm not here to make your clinic eat any costs. Once she figured that out, she turned sweet. Too late. Not going there. I'll go elsewhere. read more

The best in Sacramento! I've been to other dentists and there simply isn't a better, more trustworthy practice. There's a reason it's hard to get an appt. Dr. Mike does such good work. Ive been going to this office for many years and everybody makes me feel comfortable- from all the hygienists to the front desk woman Jani. I grind my teeth and have constant issues because of that and Dr Mike has preserved my teeth so that I don't need implants, always looking at the most conservative way to solve issues. read more

I always feel like they genuinely care about me and my family, that they are competent and professional, and that they work hard to provide me with the best possible dentistry for the least possible cost. My husband and I have been patients for 30+ years, first with Dr. Steve Casagrande and then with his son Michael (who joined his father several years ago). They are great dentists...patient, friendly, personable and they do excellent work. I highly recommend them but I don't think they need more patients. The place is always very busy. Yet, both dentists manage to give you their full attention and do not seem rushed. I can't comment on their fees because we've been with this dental office for so long that I have no way of comparing. read more

It can be difficult to find a dentist when you relocate but my neighbor got a reminder card in the mail from the staff at Casagrande DDS. I made an appointment and was able to be seen within a week. I could tell from the start that this was a good choice. The office was very nice and the staff friendly and professional. My appointment was with the son, Michael, who was very nice and friendly. Later that day I was able to see a hygienist due to a cancellation, cleanings seem to be booked way in advance. All around I would have to say that this is a great dental office and if you are looking then this is a terrific choice. As the other reviews state, the dentist is very friendly and very collegial when talking about treatment options for my teeth. Pretty rare to find doctors or dentists that treat patients so positively. Highly recommend. read more

Dentistry for the country club set? Dr. Casagrande and son come highly recommended by several of my friends. Which is a good thing, because just like you need a referral to join a country club, one needs a "referral" from a current patient to get an appt. I find that off-putting, but after tiring of being on guard with dentists who do the cha-ching dance when they see my benefits package, and being told the Casagrandes are conservative in their treatment planning, I decided to use my friends' referrals. Who I think happen to be high-falutin' in some circles. But apparently they don't rank high enough to get me an appointment. I was told they were booked six months out and they'd give me a ring if there was a cancellation. On the one hand, how nice for them that in these economic times they are so swamped they have to turn away business. On the other hand, would it help if I were to tell them I once played guitar for Todd Rundgren or that Mr. Rogers was really, truly my neighbor? Would the secrets to straight, white teeth suddenly be revealed? Or, might I possibly be allowed to book an appointment in the next millennium? read more

I first saw Dr. Michael Casagrande on an emergency basis (crown on my front tooth broke right off!). A co-worker had raved about him, so when I needed a dentist, I called. I see all the posts about not being able to get an appt., but they got me right in (crown broke on the wknd, they saw me on Monday). He did an AMAZING job with the new crown. Since then I've presented Dr. Mike with a couple new challenges (my teeth are the bane of my existence), and he is always positive and cheerful, putting me at ease and assuring me it's all fixable and he'll make me good as new. I have a temporary crown now, and go back in 2 weeks for the permanent one (molar this time), and I will have a few more "projects" for them in the future. They're not even in my dental network, but I wouldn't go anywhere else. Nicest group of people you ever want to meet, from the front desk, to the hygenists to the father-son dental team! If you need a dentist, these guys are the real deal. read more

I've been going to the Casagrandes for years and both father and son are terrific. The whole staff is incredibly professional and friendly, and you feel instantly at home the moment you walk through the door-- from hygienists to receptionists everyone is great. I've never had to wait more than 5 minutes when I have an appointment. The hygienists are always prepared when I come in having reviewed my file before I get there. They ask the right questions and instantly put me at ease before we start. When Dr Mike comes in to review the work, he is prompt, friendly and knowledgable. What I really love about him is that a few years ago I had some serious problems with my gums (I wasn't flossing ... tsk, tsk!) Rather than lecturing me in that superior tone some docs/dentists like to adopt or using fear tactics, Dr. Mike provided me with information and promised we could eradicate the problem by following a treatment plan. We did. They make dentistry relatively painless and routine -- plus their office doesn't have that dreaded "dentist" smell :) The only reason I left off one star is because it can be so hard to get an appointment with them -- even months in advance -- and you do get bounced around to several hygienists (all of whom are good, but it would be great to have more consistency). read more

The Cassagrandes are very good at what they do. Additionally, they are very friendly and their hygienists are as well. The reception staff, however, can be a hit and a miss. Unfortunately, they are so popular that they don't really take new patients unless that patient is related to an already existing patient or a dear friend. This is why is takes six months to get an appointment for something non-urgent. The sheer number of their existing patients is testament to their skill but it comes with drawbacks. And the reception staff needs a course in public relations or customer service or something. Don't judge them by the woman who answers the phone but also don't get your hopes up for becoming a patient if you don't have an "in." read more
