I would have once said this dental office was amazing. The dentist is excellent, but unfortunately I can no longer say the same about the office management. I scheduled a routine cleaning at the next available appointment, which was already two months out. Just days before my appointment, I received a text message stating that their hygienist had left the practice and that they would not be able to accommodate me until October--an additional four-month wait. What is especially frustrating is that the message made it sound as though there was only one hygienist in the entire practice, which I know is not the case. Staffing issues and scheduling challenges should not come at the expense of patients' oral health. Waiting months for a cleaning is already difficult enough, but to be notified only days before the appointment after I had already adjusted my work schedule is extremely disappointing. I genuinely like my dentist and have had positive experiences in the past, but I cannot justify waiting until October for a routine cleaning. As a result, I will be looking for a new dental office that can provide more timely care and better accommodate its patients read more

Just got done with my New Patient appointment at D2O Dental and I am SO happy I made the choice to make this place my primary dentist with Dr. Wiggins! First off, D2O dental is located in the Handle District of Midtown, directly adjacent to the Brodricks restaurant. The office is absolutely gorgeous; as soon as you walk in you feel like you just entered a spa - I love it! Everything is clean, modern and sleek. The staff is great! Alisha, the patient care coordinator is amazing and can set you up with all of your appointments and answer any insurance questions you may have. She's very organized and attentive! Jeanette, my dental hygienist has been in the game for over 30 years and really knows her stuff. She's super gentle, while getting the job done. For discomfort she applied a numbing agent which really helped me out. Throughout treatment she kept checking in on my discomfort level to really make sure I was comfortable. She's great! Dr. Wiggins performed a thorough examination and has great chair-side manner. He answered all of my questions and provided recommendations on how to care for my teeth between appointments. I've been going to D20 for more than 6 years. They gotten me into the practice of flossing regularly and now I actually like going to the dentist to get my teeth clean! Their chair is so comfy, buttery soft and makes me just want to take a nap during my cleaning. The office itself is very modern and beautiful looking with a spa-like vibe. Stacy, my regular hygienist is great. After the cleaning, they give you a small gift back with toothbrush, sample toothpaste and floss and a rubber duckie which are a hit with my little nieces and nephews! Dr. Wiggins, when he did have to treat me, was gentle and very professional. During COVID, they have you fill out an intake form prior to the appointment and you text that you have arrived before coming into the office. Once there, they have air filter at each station, and they ask that you rinse your mouth with Closys and wash your hands before you are treated. Wow! I don't think I've ever even thought to leave a review for a dentist office before, but my expectations for a simple tooth cleaning were far beyond exceeded with this experience! All the staff here are incredibly nice and attentive, they were punctual, the office was clean and super high tech, and everyone is strictly following COVID safety policies. Dr. Wiggins' bedside manner is calming, which is actually not the usual vibe I get from dentists I think they refer to this office as a "dental spa" and I 100% agree - very spa-like, and hands down the most relaxing visit to the dentist I've ever had! Bonus, the dental hygienist put chapstick on my lips before the cleaning to keep my lips from cracking (why doesn't every dentist office do this??) and they give you a warm lavender-scented towel and a tiny rubber duck with your toothbrush after you're done! I don't think I've ever looked forward to a tooth cleaning before but I honestly and truly am looking forward to visiting D20 again! Would give this place a million stars if I could!! read more

My wife had some work done at D2O in late 2016 (two crowns). They are covered by a five year warranty (supposedly). The crowns broke June 2020. My wife called D2O about the warranty and the person helping her on the phone said that the work wasn't covered because it was done at an earlier date. We shrugged and trusted her. We moved to another city and my wife just had another procedure to fix her crown today, July 23, 2020 at another dentist. Our dental insurance called later in the afternoon to tell us that the crowns were still covered. Perfect timing, considering we already paid the co-pay. Thanks team Wiggins. I'll be honest. I hate going to the dentist. That's why I haven't gone in years... until one of my old fillings fell out. I did end up putting off going into the dentist for a few months due to COVID and general denial. But I couldn't wait any longer and finally scheduled a consultation with Dr. Wiggins at my husband's recommendations. I was a bit afraid to go in during the COVID crisis but D2O seems very well prepared and takes great precautions. They had me fill out all my intake forms online before the appointment. I received text msg instructions to notify them by text when I arrived and to stay in my car until they were ready to see me. When I did go in, there were maybe 4 people waiting to be shown to their exam rooms or check out but it was relatively easy to social distance (everyone had masks on). In the exam room, all the equipment buttons/handles, soap dispensers etc are covered with one-use disposable plastic coverings. I also noticed that all staff wore protective gear during consultation and Dr. Wiggins donned higher level of protective gear for the procedure. Aside from all the COVID stuff, Dr. Wiggins has a very friendly and calm demeanor. His staff are all very polite and professional. The office is modern, clean and very pretty (almost out of a pinterest board). The only complaint I have is that the list of movies for the video goggles is a bit outdated (but really, that's such a minor thing to complain about). I held off on writing this review after having a few unpleasant experiences the Dr. and his front office staff regarding incorrect scheduling and an overall unsettling office visit with Dr. Wiggins. Enough is enough though, there office has been under construction for months now, not there fault but now my appointment has been rescheduled twice and i don't wish to wait this long in between. That's not the point of my frustration though. I decided it was time to see another Dentist with better availability and more effective front office staff with communicating scheduling. Here's the catch, I need copies of my X-rays or else my insurance will charge me again. I call their office, no response, VM Box is full. I look up their office email, send a VERY DETAILED email, i even cc the Dr. on it with his personal email. No response. I have to re-schedule my new dentist appointment now since they are completely unreachable. I am sure i will be forced to walk in once they finally re-open to have them send my X-rays. read more

I have been going to D20 for almost 2 years. I hesitated about getting a new dentist as a retired person on a fixed income concerned that unnecessary work might be recommended. My actual experience has been the opposite. I have gone for my checkups and I have been given useful advice to prevent work being needed later. Preventative treatment is so much better than having to return after a cleaning for work. Dr. Wiggins is not only friendly, but very professional and has gentle hands while working on your teeth. I had one crown put in and it's perfect. All my other visits have been for cleaning and checkups. My hygienist is terrific. She has given me some valuable tips to prevent decay which of course would require additional work later. Having that work done by someone who likes to talk sports isn't bad either. The front desk staff who coordinate appointments and who take care explaining what is covered by insurance and what is the patients responsibility are awesome too. They are very friendly and don't mind listening to seniors who talk, talk, talk, LOL They are very good at sending reminders of future appointments and when I needed to change an appointment very flexible in getting me a new date. One additional comment. I had to get a crown and it was made right there in the office! How cool is that. No temporary crown and making second visit. As great as this entire team is, I still have things I like to do more than going to the dentist so one trip is better than two visits. Been here a few times. The hygienists are awesome. I find the place a bit high-brow, like I'm there to see a high-priced attorney or something. Dr. Wiggins at first seemed top-notch, but a recent visit got me suspicious. He barely greeted me, only to tell how I needed work immediately. There was no explanation or viewing of the x-ray. When I asked, he showed it to me, but (not being a radiologist or dentist of couse) it made me pause. I couldn't really see anything. I was symptom free.Plus, he never even examined me). I just got the weird feeling I might be helping them make the extremely high rent, given the ideal location in Midtown. I ended up canceling my appointment. A month or so later I was supposed to return for a simple cleaning and I told the receptionist I was not returning. She never questioned my decision at all. Hmmm. Even if it's all legit, I suggest they lose the unfriendly "look" of the place. Have the DDS sit down and explain what his exam was (yes, do an exam please), what the X-rays truly indicate, if one could wait for the filing (and what signs/symptoms indicate prompt attention), and get to know the patient a bit. My fav dentist back in suburban Chicago was awesome: personable (called him by his first name), homey office (no receptionist, just a comfy waiting room). They all knew my history (what I did for a living, my family. etc) and seemed legitimately interested in me and my life. When it was time to leave I sat in a comfy personal office (like where the dentist actually worked at his desk). It was casual, relaxed, personal, and uncrushed. They dentist took the time to explain all exams/findings, offered alternatives, and were just wonderful to visit. I went to him for some 15 years before moving to CA. read more

I've always hated going to the dentist. The dislike probably began when I was little, because I would always get cavities even though I brushed, flossed, and never ate sugar. I started going to Dr. Wiggins two years ago. My mouth was a true mess from years of avoiding dentists and only going for last resort emergency procedures. I hated dentists so much, that when I speak of emergency procedures, I speak of infected, broken teeth needing to be pulled out, because even a root canal could no longer save them. I understand to most of you, this sounds completely negligent and gross, but I'm only trying to give example of the level of my phobia and avoidance tactics. Dr. Wiggins and his kind staff worked patiently on my mouth--never allowing me to feel ashamed--to bring it to what it is today: completely healthy! During my most recent procedure, they fixed 7, yes SEVEN fillings that had deteriorated over the decades. I kid you not, I almost fell asleep in the chair because I was so relaxed. This was huge for me. In the years past I would always be lying in the chair with my hands clenched into balls because I was so nervous. I have been coming to D20 Dental for several years and received excellent (and extensive) treatment there. Due to changes in my insurance, I was no longer covered there and had to see another Dentist. When the new dentist looked at the work on my teeth, he asked who had done the work because he said it was "excellent quality". That made me really happy and glad that I trusted my dental work to D20 Dental. While I would definitely recommend D20 Dental, I would like to share that my initial visits with them resulted in their strong recommendations for some very expensive (not covered by insurance) treatment which I declined. When I told the staff that I didn't want the treatment, they became insistent and pushy in trying to change my mind. When I told them that I didn't want to pay $1000 for an optional treatment, they tried to convince me to finance the treatment through their credit program. I didn't need their credit program, I just wasn't interested and they had a hard time taking "NO" for an answer. However, I didn't back down and after this initial sales pitch, I received excellent care from them. read more

Trust me, I've been to a lot of dentist around the bay area and central valley. This has to be one of the the best or THE best dentist I've been to, EVER. I have pretty good insurance (Delta Dental), so it's hard for me to tell you if this place is extremely expensive or not, but the service is incomparable to others. I walked in not even knowing if I went in the right office. This place looks like a spa. Everyone in there is super nice and the service is beyond what I've experienced. All the reviews on here are correct and I'm glad I didn't go anywhere else. Yes, during your longer visits you can wear glasses that projects a movie! I got a bunch of fillings fixed and I still didn't finish the movie. Oh, and they have this "tooth" camera that shows you what's up... wow, that will make you brush your teeth 10x a day. My face was like this after seeing some pictures: 0___0! Gross! Anyways, they probably don't do that every time, but that got me right away. They even call you if they have an earlier time spot, which is super helpful when you have a busy schedule and you just want to get everything over with. I just wish there was better parking around the area. There is public parking around but I never know how long I will be so I end up paying $5 at the lot next to Crepeville. If anyone has any suggestions on parking, that would be great :) read more

First off I would like to say Bettina and Alisha are really great here. I've had Bettina for 3 or 4 appointments and she's done a wonderful job every time. And I had a question on billing once and Alisha was more than happy to take time to go over my bill and explain everything clearly. That being said Dr. Wiggins used to have a nice practice until maybe a year ago. These days the focus seems to be on profits and growing business rather than taking care of patients. My wife had an appointment set for today but this morning she woke up sick and tried to reschedule. The office told her they would have to charge her a fee for not keeping the original appointment and encouraged her to come in anyways. Their argument is they're a small practice so cancellations are hard on them and that the Doctor is fully protected so he's not worried about getting sick. Once we got there he decided she was too sick and told her to reschedule anyways and not worry about the fee. My problem with this is we work near the office but live 30 minutes away. Driving all the way downtown just to be told never mind and all because you don't want cancellations? So I called and let them know not to worry about us cancelling any future appointments without proper notice as I'm cancelling all of them right now. This might be the work of an office manager or his new partner wanting to keep things profitable. But as the practicing doctor with your name on the wall its your responsibility to make sure the company keeps focus on what matters. And if it's a full schedule then best of luck, but you won't have any appointments from us. Lesson learned, go to someone with an established reputation. A start up that looks like an expensive salon is probably going to be more focused on the bottom line rather than doing the right thing when it matters. So.... I enjoy connecting with people and I must admit that the staff and dentist at this location are great with relationships. I had been calling around to various orthodontists in the area to see if someone could remove an Invisalign attachment. Responses ranged from $50 for the consultation and $$ to remove it, to "we're sorry but we're completely booked right now". So, I prayed and did a little more investigation. After reviewing the Yelp comments about D2O Dental, I decided to call them next. First, the lady who answered the phone, Cynthia, was warm and cheerful. She immediately went into problem-solving mode and briefly put me on hold to ask Dr. Wiggins if he could help. Not only were they willing to help for a reasonable cost, but they also could fit me in THE VERY SAME DAY. Once I was there, the experience was consistent. As others here have noted, the office is wonderfully furnished with state of the art equipment and the staff is professional and friendly. As you can imagine, D2O Dental is now my dental provider moving forward. My reviews usually offer areas to improve, however, in this instance 5 stars would not be enough. P.S. Their cucumber water is highly refreshing in the summer. read more

Upscale dentistry? Hip dentists? Yes. Dr. Wiggins and Dr. Const have a beautiful office where they practice general and cosmetic dentistry for adults. The waiting room is clean, contemporary, and very comfortable. There is a selection of tea and pastries, bottled water, and current magazines to keep you occupied while you wait. The staff is organized and friendly. From many of the exam rooms, there's a gorgeous view of the bay and Alcatraz, but if you're actually having a procedure done, you can expect a better diversion: a visor with headphones so you can see and hear one of a few dozen new release dvds instead of being aware of the drill. Dr. Wiggins is friendly and calm. His exams are informative and thorough. More importantly, he is careful and thoughtful and he can inject Novocain painlessly. Dental appointments aren't as much of a drag when you go to an office that is esthetically pleasing and have a dentist cool enough to invite to a cocktail party. read more
