It was very inconvenient to schedule (I wanted to go somewhere with weekend appointments so I wouldn't have to take a day off work & they said they couldn't send the info to that office because they couldn't locate it even though I gave them the address & phone number). So I ended up going to the office she recommended and they ended up causing me to have to pay thousands of dollars for the colonoscopy because they used a billing code that was not within the preventive care billing codes & they are unwilling to change the code to reflect the fact that I was only there for a screening. I told the doctor about my being charged for the free screening and she stood behind the other office's billing codes without really seeming to care. I have now been contesting these charges for about a year, involving the local DA, legal aid, and the Department of Insurance. What a terrible experience!

She also barely let me talk, didn't include me in any decision making, and didn't give me time to ask questions. Funny how these things make my anxiety and heart rate spike in an appointment, but treating a patient with respect is harder than implying they have a heart condition or drug addiction. Don't see Dr. Alexander unless you want to be stigmatized for having medical anxiety/white coat syndrome and an Adderall prescription.

Then I tried to discuss another small problem and he said, you made an appointment for your foot, nothing else. What!! He knew I was upset, and was not coming back in the room. My appointment was at 8:00 am, he came in at 8:04, and left at 8:11. I could hear his nurse outside say, do you want me to bring in your 8:30 appointment, they are already here? He obviously had time for a two minute discussion. Last week I received a letter saying that Dr. Farris was leaving the San Jose Medical Group. They must be on to him.
