The staff is amazing! Very kind and great at their job. The nurses were also very kind and seemed to really care about what I had to say.
But Dr. Wu is awful. DO NOT GO TO HIM! He didn't seem to be taking me seriously at all. I told him that my heart rate was really high all the time, I was getting so dizzy (and almost fainted a few times) at work I had to take medical leave. At one point I even went to the ER, which I was actually apprehensive about but the ER nurses were all very glad I went.
When I asked him to fill out some forms to say that I was seeking medical attention and not just on vacation he all but refused. Because of this, I lost my job. During my first appointment he told me that he wants to do a few tests and if they came back negative he wants to do a Tilt Table Test to see if I have POTS (Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome). He had me do a stress test, heart monitor, and an ultrasound on my heart.
I felt very sick the first few days after my stress test and when I told him he completely dismissed it. It seemed like he didn't believe me. When we had the phone call to review my preliminary tests he asked what I was doing at certain periods during the time I had my monitor on. I told him that I was only at home, not even doing chores, because I had my monitor put on immediately after my stress test and felt very sick for the first few days. When I asked why he was asking, he said that it was because my heart rate was in the 180s at certain points. This was surprising to me as my Apple Watch didn't catch it. Which it's an Apple Watch, not medical equipment, and so hearing it went to 180 when the most I was doing was going to the bathroom was new information and concerning to me. Then he said that he doesn't think there's anything wrong with me and I should talk to my primary doctor if I have any concerns. It sounded like he thought I was faking it or something. This was in July of 2021.
It took me months to find another doctor and wait for that appointment to come around as most of them are booked a few months out. I went to get a second opinion and that doctor seemed very concerned. I presented the same information to him as I had to Dr. Wu and he immediately saw that it wasn't normal. He told me that it might be POTS, so he ordered a Tilt Table Test. The Tilt Table Test came back positive. I finally started medication this week and am starting to see some results.
It seems I'm finally on the right path, no thanks to Dr. Wu.
(Btw, I found a work-from-home job. But I did end up using almost all of my savings while I was unemployed since Dr. Wu couldn't be bothered to fill out a form). read more
