Dr. Felix Lee is very knowledgeable and professional. But he is so busy that to see him will take six months to be able to book an appointment. I can echo one of the patients review that he can not refill a med he prescribed if the last appointment is more than 6 months ago. That posed an extreme difficulty for patients who need the med because the length of time to book an appointment. in addition, his office staff is the most bureautic and least empathetic in all the medical offices I have been to. When I went in there, the dark atmosphere was palatable. I saw fellow patients in the waiting room got so frustrated just like I did trying to get their questions answered or needs met. There were so many staffs in the office yet nothing seems to get done. Just today, I received a letter from " Cardiology leadership team " of them threatening me that they will take away my patient's right to " read" only from " write" in my patient portal simply because I sent a message of "FYI" to Dr. Felix Lee to let him know about my latest update. I doubt if Dr. FelI'm Lee even saw my messages because the censorship in that office is unbelievable. I am in the process of complaining about their violating my patient's right and if necessary I will escalate all the way the the top of PAMF. if it were not because of Dr. Felix Lee, I would stay away from the Northern California Heart Association at all cost. 10 prescription pills remaining, it was only after several follow up attempts and 1.5 weeks later that this office told us they would NOT refill because it has been greater than 12 months since last appt. We made an appointment, it's not our fault that they are booked 2 months out. What is a patient supposed to do now, run out of pills and just have a heart attack? Do they care about people? Like most other specialist these days, Dr. Lee's office requires a referral, which is faxed to them - with all of their requirements met, which I also passed on to my doctor - and was ignored. I tried to follow up, and they gave me another fax number which I promptly forwarded to me referring position. Again, no answer from Dr. Lee's office. Not every doctor sees patients with complex cases, so I was really looking forward to meeting Dr. Lee. He is nearby, in my network and had great reviews. And, the lady I spoke with when I first called was incredibly helpful. She is the one getting three stars, not the office. But once that referral is in, why is no action taken? It's been a month and a half. Why do they say they take new patients if they're not going to answer referrals, and who wants to see a doctor who's too busy, anyway? From now on, I'll have my doctor refer me to 5 specialists at a time and whoever answers, is who I end up with. Not what I want, but I need to be seen. read more

I HIGHLY recommend Dr Lee, he is AWESOME!!! He has an excellent bedside manner, he listens to his patients and educates you as to what options are available for your ailment. He is very bright, organized, religious about documenting your history, provides pros and cons to weigh, ensures you have all the follow up scans, blood tests etc. and on top of that has a sense of humor. I am completely confident in the advice he provides and the service I receive, and I always leave with a sense that he truly cares about me. I do not know why people complain about waiting to see the doctor for their appointment. I think it is more important for a doctor to take the time to listen to you, explain the prognosis and make sure you are well taken care of. At times doctors are delayed in surgery or have a new complicated patient to see. I will gladly wait for Dr Lee to attend to another patient who requires extra care because I know he would do the same for me. And one more thing... Dr Lee's scheduler is great too! read more

Doesn't care about his patients. Most awful medical experience ever. No show as the attending cardiologist in the hospital. Nearly two months from incident to still no prognosis with Dr. Lee rescheduling appointments numerous times. Long wait times on Dr. Lee's phone systems to often not reach anyone, numerous flawed communication technologies. I had heard Dr. Lee is likely one of the best cardiologists in Silicon Valley, but everyone who said this (other Dr.s and RNs) was amazed I got on his calendar. Now I see why. After months of waiting, I did get the chance to ask Dr. Lee if he cares about his patients' experience trying to reach him or get a prognosis on their health after an ambulance ride and admission to the hospital. I asked Dr. Lee if he thought it was a violation of his Hippocratic oath to 'do no harm' by making his stressed out heart patients wait, reschedule, wait more, deal with technologies that say 'here is your video call, no wait its a text message, no wait...' Dr. Lee did not answer. Very telling. I believe Dr. Lee has no idea of the actual experience his patients go through, nor do I believe he cares. Not one bit. Now that I have read some of the other reviews here, I get it. Dr. Lee does not care if his patients have to wait indefinitely to see him, while being bounced through a merry go round of flawed communication technologies and excessive rescheduling of appointments. Horrible. If you have an 'In', I'm sure he's an amazing physician, but if you are made to wait in line, don't expect to be seen for months, and do expect to be treated horribly. read more

As I'm still a patient, it's about time for an update for Dr. Lee. Over the past couple years, the appointment situation has improved. After some thought, I can appreciate that the *reason* appointments can be delayed, is that he's taking his time explaining a complicated situation, breaking news to patient, or postponed in surgery. I'd expect the same courtesy. I had an actual conversation asking the office to just inform me if appointments are being pushed back due to something unforeseen in the morning. They've been fairly accommodating with this request and I appreciate it a lot. In terms of insurance, I've had a few different carriers over the years; most recently Health Net and United Healthcare. He's thankfully in-network with both on the group side (though Health Net's individual policies share the same group network). read more

From his bedside manner to his final checkup on me at the hospital-post procedure. Just can't stop praising the man. He even spoke to my wife to reassure her through the whole process. Being diabetic and having gone through a lot of hospitals and doctors I can say there are few surgeons/doctors left, that truly care about their patients. But this man is definitely one who cares. His concern is genuine and never is he condescending, he really takes the time to make sure you understand everything that is happening. I feel so fortunate to have found Dr. Lee. I met him a few years ago when he did an angiogram on my father, who also is very pleased with Dr. Lee, and I was impressed with him in every way. I began seeing him because of my family history and he has been amazing! He even was able to get to the bottom of an issue that had plagued me for my entire life that I hadn't even thought to be related to my heart. I have found Dr. Lee to be extremely knowledgeable, professional, punctual and he has a great bedside manner. Dr. Lee's office staff is very professional and caring. Dr. Felix Lee saved my life. I had heart failure about six years ago. Dr. Lee came to the hospital in the middle of the night and saved me when I coded. He tirelessly worked around the clock and had the quick and creative thinking to be able to save my life. To top it off he helped facilitate my airlift to Stanford hospital. He has continued to be my cardiologist, even when I moved away I would fly back to California to see Dr. Lee. I've seen other cardiologists who were nice, but didn't compare. Was seen by him in hospital and he did some treadmill testing for a suspected heart condition. Seemed like a nice and knowledgable guy. Was told to follow up at his office. Staff was terribly rude and unprofessional. After waiting forever, he came in and had already completely forgot about his encounter with me two weeks prior. Had no records from that hospital visit and completely in the dark about where he was on my workup. Could tell he was in a big rush. Ordered an ultrasound for next week. Got a call the day before cancelling the procedure for no reason. Said they would call me back to reschedule, but never did. read more

I went to Dr. Lee after visiting another cardiologist in Los Gatos. What a difference! Dr. Lee gave me the confidence to select him to perform my surgery. His office staff was very helpful and accommodating to me. Appointments are made within weeks, not months like other cardiologists. Although Dr. Lee keeps office visits relatively short, he provides good, reliable information and is focused on fixing your problem. If you want long visits with extended conversations, you may have to choose another cardiologist. He treats 3 generations of my family starting with my father from 20 years ago when he saved his life, myself and my wife when she suffered a stroke, and just last year took on my son and daughter. Dr Lee was a disaster for me. He was not present for my tread mill test and the technician was a terrible communicator. Worst of all is the test results were a false positive indicating I had blockage in my heart that was not there. Never once did Dr. Lee advise me that false positives are a 20-25% possibility from a stress test. I learned this later through my own research. Any doctor with any professionalism at all would have been present for the test AND clearly communicated how unreliable the test results can be. Dr. Lee's false diagnosis created 2 months of totally unnecessary stress and worry for me and my family. I decided to get a second opinion with Stanford's Invasive Cardiology Group ( night and day more professional than Heart Associates at all levels) and they confirmed I have absolutely NO blockage in my heart with a Cardiac catheterization procedure. Whereas Dr. Lee was telling me I needed at least one and probably two or three stents. Stay away from Heart Associates if you care about your heart. read more

AVOID THIS DOCTOR AND HEART ASSOCIATES of N. CA. AT ALL COSTS.. Dr. Lee misdiagnosed me. The tests done at his office were not done correctly. Never once did he suggest that these tests are frequently wrong. He informed me that I had a serious blockage in my heart and my only choice was invasive surgery to put in a stent(s). Thankfully I went for a second opinion to a different cardiologist and more tests to learn Dr. Lee was completely wrong. I did not have ANY blockage as he insisted. With his false conclusions he allowed me to believe I had a serious heart condition. I can't begin to put into words the stress this cause for me and my family. Bad on you Dr. Lee. Do not let this happen to you too. He deserves a rating of -100 stars if that good. read more

I am so excited I just got insurance again and can go back to him . Sure sometimes he runs late , most doctors I have been to run late . One that does heart surgery is probably the most understandable since heart surgery is so time consuming . He is the best . Myself , my husband and my Mom before she passed ( at 93 ) of heart problems all went to him and this office was the BEST !!!!! The time they gave us as she was getting worse with her failing heart was amazing ! I was never rushed EVER ! We had meetings around his desk with the entire family and I could not have asked for more . He has been great with my husband and myself and I can't give this office enough praise ! read more

He was 20 minutes late which is not too bad, but he was in a big hurry, he spent less than 10 minutes with me if that (as usual). He did not once look up from his laptop at me, read the test results, said "you've gotten worse", shuts his laptop, tells me he's putting me on a another new medication, heads up to the nurse's station with me walking behind, says they will email to my pharmacy and he will see me in a month!. He didn't not answer my questions cause he was in big hurry, just another medication thrown at me. He did not even ask how I was doing on the current medication, or I how was "period". I was taken back this last appointment I was actually stunned and walked out of there realizing that I was not even treated as a person, just results on his spreadsheet. I am having a hard time understanding the bad reviews I am seeing here, so I am taking a moment out of my busy schedule to put in my two cents. I acquired Dr. Lee through chance, as he was the cardiologist on call when I arrived in Good Sam ER with an arrhythmia while pregnant. He treated me well, and according to established standards of care. ( I know this because I am a nurse.) I didn't think I needed a cardiologist forever, but he was in my record when the baby was born and I complained of difficulty breathing, so they called him. (The difficulty was from c-section pain, nothing cardiac, but this incomplete assessment by an L&D nurse serendipitously saved my life down the road.) He ordered an echocardiogram, which revealed a defective valve in my heart. On a follow-up years later to check on that valve, his tech discovered an enlarged aortic root, which led to the discovery of an aortic aneurysm and allowed me to have surgery to correct the condition before it killed me. There are no symptoms or obvious signs of this condition until, usually, ones life is in serious danger, or, in effect, over. I am crazy lucky to be alive and to have had another baby. In seven years of treating me, he has never been more than 20 minutes later than our scheduled appointment and only once was I called the day of my appointment to reschedule because he was called to an emergency. He has taken the time to know me and to do a thorough exam at every visit. His staff is courteous and professional and always do the job well. This especially applies to the nurse who checks lipids, his scheduler, Chris, and Millie, the receptionist. His billed rates never leave me with a huge bill after insurance pays. My only complaint is that I can't figure out when his freaking office hours are. I always call during times (like now, 2pm on a Tues!) that one would think are ordinary office hours, but no one is there! This makes it hard to cancel appointments or ask questions. Someday I will ask what the schedule is, because I keep throwing darts at the calendar and hitting times when they are closed. read more
