Dr Ringel is extremely knowledgeable when it comes to eye care. I have had many different problems with my eyes and he has always been able to take care of them himself or sends me to extremely qualified specialists who take care of my problem. I have been going to him for 25+ years. Everyone in my family uses him and I recommend him to all. read more

If you want excellent care for your eyes and a doctor who cares about you and the community look no further. It's been about 15 years since my eye sight began to fail. First for farsightedness and later for near-sightedness, yes getting older sucks, but Dr. Ringel has helped me every step of the way. He takes the time to understand your situation and vision requirements. My wife also sees Dr. Ringel for contacts, as well as glasses. She has had vision problems from an early age and has been very happy with the care provided by Dr. Ringel and his staff. From advice on contacts, to post LASIK care everything has been top notch. We never feel pressured to buy something. All recommendations are given with pros and cons and when available, multiple choices. I highly recommend Dr. Ringel for your eye care needs. Remember you only get one pair of eyes, so take care of them. read more

I have been a patient of Dr Ringel's for sometime now and he and his staff is as awesome today as they were my first visit. They make you feel like family and when you are there it is like you are the only one there. Dr Ringel acknowledges you in the waiting room and he always give a thorough exam. Dr Ringel is out of network on my insurance but I still come and see him because he is an amazing doctor. If you are looking for a new eye doctor give Dr Ringel and his staff a try, you won't regret it. read more

Meet the Business Owner: Michael R.

Dr. Ringel graduated from Miami University in Oxford, OH in 1990 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Zoology. He then entered the Ohio State University College of Optometry and graduated cum laude with his optometric degree in 1994. Dr. Ringel was 1 out of 62 students in his graduating class selected to complete a one year optometric residency focusing on ocular disease. His residency took place in Alliance, Ohio at the Ohio Eye Alliance, a multi-subspecialty ophthalmology practice. Dr. Ringel has since been practicing in Harrison, Ohio from 1995 through the present. Outside the office you may see Dr. Ringel bicycle riding or golfing. His other interests include gardening and woodworking. He is active in the Harrison Kiwanis Club and has served as its President & Secretary. Dr. Ringel resides in Harrison.

That was fine, but after getting my new glasses I was seeing double out of my one eye I never noticed before. I stopped back to their office to have the prescription double checked. The Dr. checked the glasses, checked the prescription of that one eye and explained it was a tiny cataract she noted on the first visit and not the glasses or prescription. The whole visit took maybe 5 minutes and as I left the Dr. said, "No Charge". Then I get a another bill for $95; the cost of a whole 2nd exam/visit. BTW, don't buy glasses through them. You can get the same high-quality glasses for 1/4 the price through Zenni.com.

That is the one star they get. However this day she wasn't on front desk. Colleen (8yrs) and trainee. So many HIPAA violations. Plus, required to sign forms to be willing to self pay for services. Not told if you sign it, they wont process to insurance. I knew better! Obvious that my BP was rising. I tried to remain calm; however, my voice did show frustration with attitude. Then here came the Covid answer, "we are short on doctors, hired three new doctors. " BTW my primary doctor said it was an emergency visit and still was 6-8 weeks. With medical issues I have I wasn't confident In just graduated doctors. " We have to get them from somewhere". The conversation didn't get any better. I still went with assistant, to focus on appt. She asked few questions and went to clean my glasses. While she was gone "Colleen?" Came interrupting, saying Dr Ledford says...... who is she? Not the one I was scheduled to see. That did it someone who didn't talk to me went on Colleen's interpretation and making decisions without me. I saId," stop!" I am done. I left. Then 1.5 hrs later I received a text asking for a review.......here it is for you.

Dr Ringel is very thorough and takes the time to make sure you have the best eye care you can get. This guy is unique in his profession, because he does not rush through your exam.
