Billing Nightmares. As accounting firm, you would expect detailed billing, but nope. If you want…read moreto understand your billing, ask for a detailed invoice and really examine it. Also keep track of your time with them & beware that if their junior people then have senior people on the call you are getting billed for both people. Sometimes, they would have 3 or 4 people. It was ridiculous. One person knew the info and could have closed the point in 10 minutes.
Some topics have been discussed, then opened again and they often try to make it seem so complicated. For example, on a transfer we have done many of them, and now one with them turns into a huge expensive mouthful.
I had thought they were a mid size firm with Mr Paul Bailey as our contact, but nope turns out we were fished over to others.
Also, when staff was on maternity leave, even though they have us copy like 4 people at their office, we did not get paperwork in time . They dropped the ball. Then they say oops, causing us lots of stress! And oh, added billing. HORRIBLE. HORRIBLE Mistakes and adding insult to injury is the billing.
If it were me and I made such a mistake, i would be crediting my client account, giving them assurances etc. Nope. We have to ask for assurances related to their mistakes etc.
As a good client, we would reach out to them, our accountant, before doing certain things and they would take it and make it again into a huge deal, getting multiple staff involved, costing us more than is necessary and then left us with an unclear path forward. We did our research, we had done it before, and just letting them know (as tax laws do change), yet then wham it is a mountain (from a molehill..or in many cases no molehill just need the Yes you are right or... BUT we consistently are met with very complicated responses with oodles of questions (they often already knew answers &/or were irrelevant). It was like they would forget us/our file, and this approach shows us our time is not valued, And yep, that runs up the clock!
My good friend who referred us to them, is also leaving.
Oh yeah, note the detailed billing like when the call or work starts, not your trouble with their links or bad phone numbers listed on the email or being billed when you asking about their billing. LOL DO NOT GO HERE. AVOID THE PAIN.
