A week after the due date, nothing done. Then leaving messages for 2-3 weeks before we received the courtesy of a call back. Nothing accomplished, no letters sent. This happened probably 6 or 7 times. Then we were sued because of not cooperating. We would have been better off without any representation. Mr. Smiths negligence caused us to be sued and I have the documentation. When he found out the value of the asset we were selling, he tried to broker the sale when we already had the buyer. Then he said, "Well, looks like there will be enough money for everyone." PS Couldn't return calls because he was out of town to attended 6 funerals. Couldn't return call because flight was cancelled due to mechanical. Guess he was busy fixing it.

Going with this law firm saved me a lot of money !! Best and most honest lawyer I have ever met! I…read morewould never interact or retain any lawyer in the future without begging him first to represent me even if it is out of their particular specialty. Even if you live in Seattle proper, please trust me and take the short drive to consult with his firm. Once you compare his fees, amazing staff and case results to the bigger Seattle firms you might have initially intended to work with, I am POSITIVE you will change your mind. A family friend of ours (who is also a lawyer), was the person who originally referred me to this amazing firm. A list of the reasons you want to go to David Smith Law Firm rather than anyone else if you live in the Seattle/Tacoma area. -The minute you walk into his office, you feel instantly comfortable. No need to be nervous, skeptical or embarrassed explaining your legal problem and needs. Everyone in the office is really adept at making you feel comfortable and helping the process move smoothly and effectively; -Unlike most law firms, that make you feel like you are selling them on you and your case, everyone at David Smith Law Firm is really nice and customer service friendly to the extreme; They are straightforward and up front about everything and greet and treat you with respect, care and consideration. -These are top level lawyers who regularly attain optimal results and outperform expectations; -Ridiculously- affordable pricing structure; I have never had another lawyer provide me with a lower flat fee in my 20 plus years of having to retain legal advice and counsel. I dare you to find another firm who will do more better work for less money. It doesn't exist!! There are never hidden fees or surprises even when the situation requires more work or follow up. -State of the Art Microsoft operating software and legal tools reduce the amount of work and time you have to spend filling out endless forms and drafting lists and materials. I have had some really horrible prior experiences with lawyers of all types. The David Smith Law firm really restored my optimism, and reversed my preconceptions and negative biases about having to deal with legal matters.

RUN FOR THE HILLS & DO YOUR DUE DILIGENCE!…read more I will absolutely NEVER use this company, specifically Caroline, again for my taxes. As a real estate investor who has a pretty standard W2 job - I wanted an expert to help us (my fiance and I) get the most depreciation from our real estate investments and we were willing to pay the high premium for their expertise. Well boy, were we wrong. At first everything was going according to plan...until it wasn't.... Caroline stopped responding to emails and phone calls until I had to call her assistant multiple times a week to ask for follow ups as we were approaching our tax extension deadline quickly. Finally got a hold of Caroline and she started filing our taxes using all of our documents we sent her from Quickbooks - we also had a brief (under 5 minute conversation about potentially doing a Cost Seg on our new investment property and while we were on the phone, we both agreed it wouldn't be financially beneficial for us to do that this year and we would revisit next year). Then this is where it turned south quickly. Caroline and her team got all of our documents together and since they charged $3,000+ to file our taxes - I thought we would be getting money back to offset it. Well on the phone when she and her team went through the filing, she had stated "great news, we are going to end up with a $14,000 tax return"..... turns out on email the very same day the tax return went from $14,000 to $4,000 so barely enough to cover our costs to hire Jeff Baker & Associates. This was Red flag #1. It was honestly extremely unprofessional to state and get us excited on one number and then put in an email a completely separate number that was much lower. Also, she denies ever saying that number but both of us heard the number loud and clear and had written the same number ($14,000) down in our notebooks - so it just didn't appear out of thing air as she claimed. Red Flag #2 popped up quickly after we had realized that we wouldn't be getting any money back, instead we would be in the negatives this year after paying Caroline & her team. Caroline sends her invoice and what pops up.... an $1,250 additional charge for a Cost Segregation....which again we decided not to do and she mentioned she charged us that amount because we had that conversation with her and she provided expert advise. She then asked if I would consider a $350 discount on the $1,250 fee she was trying to charge us - absolutely laughable. Needless to say after the experience I had with her team by this point....we did not pay the additional $1,250 fee and only paid for the work she did for us. Unfortunately, Caroline and Jeff Baker & Associates was a referral and I didn't do as much due diligence as I should have. DO NOT MAKE MY MISTAKE. I would use anyone over Caroline & her team. It was an unsatisfactory experience at best and one that hurt us financially as well. We will never make that same mistake again and would never recommend this company to anyone.
