Kyle was very responsive, informed, and helpful in assisting me with my IRS tax case!

Looking for a CPA and this one came highly recommended. I tries for several days, using their web site, sending an email and calling their 800 number and it took several days for someone to actually get back to me. Turns out that they all work remotely and there will not be a brick and mortar place where you can talk to someone. Had a zoom call with a person located in Tennessee who was pleasant and seemed knowledgeable. They reviewed past tax returns and were quick to provide a quote but then when I emailed for clarification several times I received no response. Felt like I could not hire a company where it was virtually impossible to get a timely response and that includes the individual who apparently owns the company and who after several days sent me an email but didn't respond to my response read more

Used Kyle from 2017-2024 for our tax returns. Nice guy, but if your tax situation is more complex than a simple W2, look elsewhere. His returns consistently required multiple corrections due to obvious oversights. We had to review everything very carefully before filing. For basic taxes, this was manageable. The relationship ended when we needed help with a business EV tax credit issue. There were numerous details showing Kyle wasn't paying attention and was filing forms blindly without any investigation. His amendments kept getting rejected by the IRS. When I offered to give him power of attorney so he could properly investigate our specific case with the IRS, he refused, saying that wasn't part of his job. His final correspondence was offering to help write an appeal draft to the IRS without providing any details on how he would actually solve the underlying issue or do any due diligence. I'm saving the inner details as they would take too much time to explain, but after months of no progress, we hired another professional who diagnosed the root cause within days. Bottom line: Kyle doesn't do due diligence. Fine for straightforward W2 returns if you're willing to double-check his work. Not recommended for anything requiring investigation or problem-solving. -------------- Update in response to business owner: Kyle claims several things are "misstated" but here are the facts for anyone reading: Regarding purchase structure: Form 15400 from Tesla clearly listed the business name and EIN. I sent Kyle an email explicitly stating the vehicle was purchased for the business. Kyle ignored both the form and my email. When the IRS first rejected our filing, I sent Kyle a screenshot proving I had told him it was purchased under the business name. At that point, Kyle tried to charge me an additional $500 for an amendment, claiming I had "never told him" it was for the business - despite having documentary proof that I had. Regarding "clear path to remedy": Kyle provided no actual solution. He repeatedly blamed Tesla for incorrect filing. Tesla then reviewed Kyle's tax forms and identified multiple errors KYLE had made, providing corrections. Kyle was simply deflecting his own mistakes onto Tesla. He also falsely claimed he had "the exact same problem with other clients." Regarding timeline and IRS processing: The delays were caused entirely by Kyle's errors, not IRS processing. Even after being told he made mistakes, Kyle entered my personal SSN instead of the business EIN on amendment forms. We discovered many other reporting errors after the second IRS rejection. The timeline was driven by Kyle repeatedly filing incorrect forms, not by IRS processing delays. These are facts, not misstatements. read more

I used Dominick consulting for several years to do my tax filings and thought the value and service were good, however I had started to catch several errors in the drafts I had to call. The final straw for me was the complete miss of stock sales and capital gains tax owed across several accounts. I had to be so diligent reviewing the forms to make sure all mistakes were corrected that it ended up being more effort than doing it myself. read more

I originally thought Kyle was fine. He was doing our taxes, and those of two of our adult children. I have found a couple of mistakes that led to some penalties etc., and some that we had overpaid (the IRS found that one). We decided to go with someone else. I sent our last few years taxes to the new person who within less than an hour found some major errors on 2022 taxes for us and one of our kids - so far. We are going to have to pay her to redo and refile at least last year's. I assume she will find more mistakes on previous years. Nice guy, but I wouldn't trust him to do your taxes if you have anything beyond w-2s. read more

Kyle helped me fixing a mistake in my tax form. He is very knowledgeable and helpful. He educated me about some details I wasn't aware of. I Will definitely keep working with him. If you want to rest assured and have your taxes filed appropriately, I highly recommend hiring Kyle. read more

I want to share my honest experience with Kyle Dominick, LLC, as I think a company's response when things don't go right is much more telling than when things do go right. My husband and I were clients of Kyle's from 2021-2022 (for 2020 and 2021 income taxes). In March of 2022, we received an Audit from the IRS asking for clarification on our mortgage interest deduction. We immediately reached out to Kyle (on March 29, 2023) asking for Kyle to help with this process, and started to research mortgage deductions. We quickly realized that Kyle likely made an error on our 2021 tax return. I didn't get a response from Kyle, so I emailed again on March 30, at which time Kyle asked to get our documentation so he can take a look. After a few back and forths, Kyle emailed me on April 11th stating that he compiled the response, and telling me the rules for mortgage deductions. I found his response extremely odd and frustrating. Since Kyle prepared the incorrect return, why was I being taught the rules? I asked why it was incorrect since I'm sure this rule is commonly known and not new, and Kyle's response was, " Yes, this is extremely prevalent in this area. I'm helping clients (new and current) respond to these notices." Again, confused as to why this was done incorrectly since it's extremely prevalent where we live. I shared that my expectation of Kyle, a CPA, was to correct the error (which he did) and to pay any fees and penalties associated with his error. I did not expect him to pay back his fees to prepare my return since he put in the hours. I believe that this is the minimum his firm could do (not going above and beyond). Kyle's response was, "I will work with you to reduce or eliminate the penalties and interest, but I cannot pay them for you." This is really an unacceptable and extremely tone-deaf response which, again, seems to place the blame on the client when his firm incorrectly prepared a tax return that led to an IRS audit of his client. In summary, we paid $600 to Kyle to do two years of tax returns to save time for us. One year led an IRS audit because of a mistake that his firm made. We have now spent much more time responding to the IRS and to Kyle, while having to pay additional penalties and fees associated with his mistake. Kyle has not accepted his mistake in any communications nor has there been any proactiveness from his firm to really make this right. read more

For a long time my husband and I were Turbo Tax people and we did our own tax returns. However over the last couple of years our tax situation has gotten more complicated and we made a boo boo on one of our returns. We didn't realize it until we got a scary letter in the mail from the IRS with a hefty bill. Luckily we reached out to Kyle at Dominick Consulting. He helped us figure out what we did wrong and he amended our return for us. He also gave us guidance on dealing with the IRS. This year we decided to have Kyle file our return for us and he did an amazing job. We are fully aware that it is tax season and he must be super busy, but he was able to finish our return very quickly and he answered several questions we had. It has been so easy working with Dominick Consulting. They have an online billing system so you can pay with a credit card and you get a PDF receipt. They use a secure file website where you can upload your tax documents safely. Lastly, the final tax return is sent to you in a password protected file. We enjoyed working with Kyle and we look forward to coming back next year! read more

If you are looking for an excellent accountant for your family and/or business, Dominick Consulting is a fabulous choice. I have been with them for three years now and could not be happier. I have a small business and Kyle takes care of both my personal return and my business return. He is responsive, knowledgeable, detail-oriented, clear - everything I want in an accountant. He helped me think through structural questions for my business as well. And I like his simple yet efficient system for uploading documents. I had worked with a different accountant previously and it was stressful every year. It's night and day with Dominick Consulting - Kyle makes the whole process easeful with the combination of his competence and great communication. I highly recommend him for your accounting needs. read more

Kyle is amazing! He has helped me with my taxes for the past few years and is always thorough, helpful, and informative. He has been able to answer my questions and helped me to compile my information in an easy to use way, and also helped me think through how I wanted to categorize expenses related my new home purchase so I can make the most out of them. He also helped my former spouse and me navigate our taxes and a property sale after a divorce. I've referred family members and friends to him and will continue to do so. Very grateful for Kyle's help and knowledge with a very confusing process! read more

What a wonderful job Kyle did for us in assisting us with an IRS audit. Super fast and responsive.

I used to file my taxes on my own via Turbo Tax. A couple of years ago, I received a letter from the IRS informing me I had filed my return incorrectly and I was to respond immediately. As a side, if you've ever received mail from the IRS it is a most unpleasant experience - your heart drops and you imagine the worst case scenario (i.e. sitting in a jail cell :/) I immediately searched for a local CPA and found Kyle. I sent him an email explaining my situation, we scheduled a call the same day and I was instantly relieved. Kyle explained it was a very common mistake to make and even better, a very quick & easy fix. Needless to say, Kyle has been doing my taxes ever since. He is fast to respond, explains things clearly and thoughtfully, and the systems he uses to upload documents are secure and user friendly. Somehow Kyle has made filing my taxes a pleasant experience. Highly recommend! read more

Just ok. At times it took days to finally hear back from Kyle, so if you're not in a hurry and don't need an immediate answer this may be fine for you. In the end, didn't really find any new or different tax savings either. read more

First time I had my taxes done and was very convenient. Kyle was very helpful and responsive.

If i could give six stars, I would without hesitation. Kyle and his team were amazing. After having a horrible experience with the firm/individual who took over my prior CPA'S practice (no communication after turning in documents nearly two and a half months ago), I located Dominick Consulting on Yelp. I submitted my documents to him over the weekend and my taxes (both US and one state return) were finalized today and submitted to the IRS. This was absolutely amazing. He provided a fixed price quote before proceeding and guided me through the information that he required. What a pleasure.!!!! read more

Kyle has been doing my taxes for years now. I couldn't recommend him enough! He's fast, efficient, the process is really easy and completely streamlined, the price is fair and affordable and he is extremely professional. I used to do my own taxes until my finances became too complicated to file on my own. Kyle has been so great in guiding me through the process and I trust him 100% to cover everything thoroughly to be sure nothing has been missed. I even sent my mom his way from Eastern WA when she was looking for someone to file her taxes since the entire process can be handled online via a secure portal. If you're looking for the right person to handle your taxes, Kyle is your guy!! read more

I was a Turbo Tax user for years until I was referred to Kyle. I don't dread tax season anymore. Kyle is quick and getting all the information to him is simple and user friendly. One year he was even able to amend a return that I had previously messed up with Turbo Tax. The IRS sent a letter saying we owed them but with Kyle's help and the amended return we got money back! Thanks Kyle for making life a little easier! read more

The first year we hired Kyle we had done a draft assessment of our taxes via TurboTax, which I had used for years, and the result was that we owed several thousand dollars, which was a surprise. We realized that we should explore having a professional look at our taxes and accepted that regardless of the outcome that the peace of mind we'd receive in knowing that our taxes were done right would be worth it. Kyle collected all of our documents digitally and quickly processed everything and reported back that we would be receiving a small refund! When knew then that we had made the right choice and we've never looked back! We've been happy clients of Kyles for several years now and are very happy with his service. read more

We have been working with Kyle a few years now on our taxes. We love how we can upload our documents to a secure online storage and pay online. And how easy and quick it is working with Kyle. I was looking for a CPA in the area to do my taxes during the Pandemic and Kyle was one of the first people to respond to my emails. He got me on the phone shortly after to go over his company, what I was looking to do and quoted me his services. I felt like he was very transparent during our phone call, made me feel very comfortable and pricing was the best out of the other agencies when I asked to only do personal taxes. I got all my information to him within a couple days and he was able to give me a draft copy during that time. He was so quick and efficient, I will be using him again next year! read more

Kyle is very helpful and understanding, he answers a lot of our questions and make us feel comfortable working with him.

I hired Kyle as a financial adviser for the non-profit I am a board member of, and afterwards decided to hire him as my personal accountant. He has now taken over assisting and handling my finances, and he is a pleasure to work with. He is thorough, detail oriented, and honest. He's great with budget creation, and any other financial advice. Per instance, I am looking to consolidate my student loans, and he knew the exact website I should go to in order to apply for a consolidation loan. He also knew the most trustworthy website to check my credit score when I did not know it. Besides accounting and spreadsheet knowledge, Kyle has a breadth of financial knowledge to offer. He knows the best credit cards for your financial situation, he knows which websites you should be using, and he knows which banks might be beneficial to work with. He recently sat down with me on a Friday night for about 2 hours and we worked out a plan to consolidate my loans, get rid of my credit card and personal debt, and get back on track towards saving money and financial freedom. He is patient, knowledgeable, non-judgmental and honest. He didn't make me feel bad for having debt, he told me that we would work together to get through it, and I know that I am in very capable hands. He is also the financial adviser for my non-profit, and he is allowing us to grow and is extremely responsive and great to work with as well. I can't recommend him enough- he's a spreadsheet master, and a joy to work with. read more

My husband and I sought help in submitting 2016 taxes as I had new employment and we had purchased our first house. We are so happy that we found Dominick Consulting. Kyle walked us through complicated tax forms in a way that we could easily understand. After finding that we owed money for the first time, he put our worries at ease by setting up a payment plan. Moreover he scheduled additional meetings with us to ensure that we were better set up to end 2017 owing less. We've decided to continue using Kyle for financial planning throughout the year (and for years to come). He is extremely knowledgeable in budget planning, utilizing credit, and managing debt. He took care in answering all of our questions thoroughly, honestly, and with our best interest in mind; no question is too dumb! I highly recommend Kyle and his services to assist in making the best financial decisions for you and your family. read more
