Got my lower wisdom teeth extracted years ago with no complications whatsoever. No swelling,…read moreminimal bleeding, minimal pain, and it healed wonderfully. Now years later, I live in NYC and decided I need to get my upper teeth removed as well (they were decayed). Literally traveled down to VA to get them removed by him because he did a great job and his staff provided excellent service. I will 100% recommend him to all of my VA friends.

Unfortunately, a 3D scan by my root canal dr showed I had to have a tooth extracted. My first time and I was terrified. He referred me to Sang Kim and I went there that day. Sang Kim met with me for about 5 minutes and said he would be pulling my tooth right then. I was shocked, this meeting was to be a consultation! The office staff came in 1 minute later, quickly ran through the procedure (with generic images online), had me sign a consent form, and had me pay over $2,000 RIGHT THEN. I have insurance, but they wanted their cash before issuing to insurance. They even said if my insurance sent me a credit, to bring the check to them! What?! While sitting their confused and now broke, all I could think was this guy was recommended by my dentist and I trust my dentist. BIG MISTAKE! If it feels wrong, it is wrong. Here is the situation, my tooth (a previous root canal tooth) got infected to the point it had deteriorated the bone under the gum. It was the infection that hurt and the reason I went to the dentist. Was it painful, yes. But not so painful I couldn't wait a few days to let some antibiotics clear it up before surgery. Sang Kim did not give me that option. Nor did he give me the option for sedation. 10 minutes after forking over a huge sum of money, I was in the chair getting numbed. Here is the first of what was soon to be the most painful experience EVER! The tech didn't put the surface numbing gel everywhere the dr would inject the numbing needle. When he hit the un-numbed area in my mouth it was like my brain was struck with lightning. I screamed with pain. He didn't stop - just said this was the most painful part. A few minutes later, he started pulling. I would tell him, "I can feel this, it hurts!" He didn't stop. Again I tell him, "I can feel this, it hurts!". He didn't stop. It is so painful, I start crying uncontrollably. He only stopped when he had the tooth pulled. After a small break, he resumed work to clear out the infected areas. AGAIN I tell him, "this hurts, I can feel it!". He didn't stop. I start crying again, tears flowing down my face, He doesn't stop. I start screaming in pain. He only stops to bring in more staff and shuts the door - apparently more afraid about those in the waiting room than the excruciating pain I was enduring. After another small break, so I could get my crying under control, he returns for the bone grafting - again I CAN FEEL IT AND IT HURTS! At this point I'm physically pushing their hands/instruments away from my face. Once he is done, I'm laying there crying. He nor his staff did anything to help me. All they would say was "That was a bad infection". So I ask, then why not let me take antibiotics before the procedure, or give me the option for sedation. They said nothing. I felt so violated! I'm in so much pain and crying so hard I could barely see to drive home. No one should EVER go to this place! All he cared about was getting paid - he showed no regard for my wellbeing. The surgery was performed 10/2/2025.

I am writing this to share my personal experience so others can make a careful and fully informed…read moredecision before choosing a surgeon. I underwent a deep plane facelift procedure with Dr. Daria Hamrah, who is an oral surgeon. I trusted his credentials, his consultation, and the way the procedure was presented to me. Based on that trust, I moved forward with surgery expecting a professional, thoughtful, and responsible outcome. Unfortunately, my experience has been extremely disappointing. After the surgery, I was left with facial asymmetry, uneven contours, and visible irregularities. My face appeared unbalanced, with areas that looked lumpy, distorted, and not natural. This was not what I expected from such a complex and highly marketed procedure. When I first raised my concerns, I was told to wait and allow time for healing. I respected that advice and waited patiently for over a year, believing that the results would gradually improve. They did not improve. In my experience, the outcome became more concerning over time. When I reached out again to address these ongoing issues, instead of receiving a clear and supportive resolution, I felt that my concerns were not taken seriously. Eventually, I was informed that the physician-patient relationship would no longer continue. This left me without support after a significant surgical experience, a substantial financial investment, and a long period of waiting. When I raised my concerns and felt significantly affected by the outcome, I requested a partial refund as a reasonable resolution. Instead of addressing my concerns or taking responsibility, I felt that my concerns were not acknowledged, and my access to communication--including social media--was blocked In addition, there were aspects of the treatment plan that, from my understanding during consultation, were expected to be performed but were not carried out as I had anticipated. This added to my confusion and disappointment. As a patient, I trusted an oral surgeon to perform a facial cosmetic procedure that requires not only technical skill but also aesthetic judgment and careful follow-through. Based on my personal experience, I did not receive the outcome or level of care that I had hoped for. This experience has cost me financially, physically, and emotionally. It has also impacted my confidence and daily life. I understand that every surgical procedure carries risks and that outcomes can vary. However, I strongly encourage anyone considering a deep plane facelift, especially with an oral doctor , to do extensive research, seek multiple consultations, ask detailed questions, and clearly document all expectations before moving forward. Do not rely solely on online presence, social media IG, FB...or initial consultation impressions. Take your time and make sure you fully understand who you are trusting with your face.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS DOCTOR AND HIS OFFIE…read more My mother-in-law was visiting from abroad and was scheduled for a surgical procedure. We paid $40,000 upfront as required. However, due to her medical condition, she was not cleared for surgery by the doctor, and the procedure was ultimately canceled by the office. Despite the surgery not taking place, the office has refused to return our payment. We have made multiple attempts to resolve this issue, but have not received our refund. Because of this situation, my mother-in-law had to return home without receiving treatment and without the return of a very large sum of money. We are extremely frustrated by the lack of resolution and communication. We expected professionalism and fairness, especially in a medical setting.

He takes good care of you on the chair, makes sure you are comfortable, and EXPLAINS everything (as much or as little as you want to know- I like knowing!) The practice- waiting room is small but I've never been there for more than a few minutes. The place is clean, has a cool vibe, and when I tell you those chairs are comfortable...they must be real leather and you can definitely tell. What I love- Dr. Hong has his own cartoon art up on the wall. He is quite talented! Didn't take any pics, but I will next time!

Many times, that causes more issues. However, Dr. Hong is very honest in what he does and he refers patients to specialists when special skills are needed. Although we live far away from his office, we've never thought about finding a new dentist as it is hard to find a trustful dentist! I would give 100 starts or more if I can.

His manner makes me wonder if he's been served with a malpractice suit before. Would not be surprised honestly. ... Dr. Ali's entire practice leaves much to be desired... I've visited his office for a procedure and follow up at least about 6 or 7 times in the past few years. I always need to brace myself for his appointments because he is racist and sexist- I will admit I'm not sure if it's intentional or subconscious... But one thing for sure, he's HIGHLY patronizing, especially to people of color. I've been trying to explain his behavior for him, because I didn't want to deal with arguing with a defensive man. But he seems to recognize when his patients bristle at his under-handed comments then he gets defensive. Meaning he's an intelligent man, just all the more rude since he knows where his words land. After so many visits though, i think it's safe to say his bedside manner is just plain offensive... consistently. It's highly confusing considering how diverse his patients are. His staff just follows his behavior. Efficient, but rude. Also worth noting in terms of his office staff and punctuality, I've always had to wait at least a good 15-20 minutes to see Dr.Ali, even if I showed up at the scheduled appointment time. Their office always seems to be too tightly scheduled, Dr. Ali seems to be always in a rush to the next thing. All doctors tend to be quick so this would be understandable, but it's strongly evident thathe wants to move on to the next thing and while he does make an effort to answer his patient's questions, it tends to be pretty curt and dismissive. Too many issues to unravel, this is just the tip of the iceberg surprisingly lol. Maybe just go to another provider, plenty others in the area.

They only mentioned the fee when I was about to leave the office, not at the beginning of the appointment. During the consultation, they only provided a quote for the service my dentist referred me for, and the price was extremely higher than other options I found later. I called the office afterward to ask if they could waive the consultation fee since it was not communicated beforehand, but the staff were very unhelpful and dismissive. I explained that I ended up doing the procedure with another surgeon, but they did not seem to care. It was disappointing to be charged such a high fee when no actual treatment was performed. Since I already had my X-ray, the quote could have easily been provided before the visit. Overall, this experience felt very unfair and poorly handled.
