Michael and Sons followed up with me to ensure that I received the service I paid for. They got it on the schedule and their technician showed up on time. He was efficient and pleasant--in and out in no time. He did not try to sell us any unnecessary services. He simply checked out our air conditioning and confirmed we are ready for the warmer temperatures. read more

Company-centric, not customer-centric customer service. I scheduled a furnace inspection online for my mom's house in Baltimore with this company, whom my mom had used for several years. We were given a service appointment between noon and 6 PM on a particular date. When I noticed that it was a 6 hour service window, I called their customer service WELL before the appointment date and explained very politely to the customer service agent that I had to drive down from Pennsylvania, and asked if there was any way we could set up the technician's run for the day so that we were closer to the 12 PM side of the window. I didn't want to have to make a two hour drive home starting after 6pm if the appointment ran on the late side of the window. I was given the standard unhelpful customer service answer of, "Nothing I can do". We canceled our appointment and took our business to another HVAC company that COULD accommodate our needs. Your unsympathetic customer service agent lost you a customer. read more

Great response time and completed efficiently ... great experience ... Konstontinos was great

I feel like it's a money scheme- I was quoted $69.00 to come out because I had a water leak. When he came out he said that it would be $183 because he had to do a leak detection test. Are you kidding me? I actually had to get him to go to where the leak was because he went over it with a minimum of concern. NEVER EVER AGAIN will I use this company. Awaiting a call from his manager read more

Very professional and extremely helpful. Special thanks to Konstantinos for his excellent professionalism

Michael Ibarra came today to inspect my heating and cooling. Everything well and she explained things clearly. He was also friendly and I appreciate it. read more

M&S sent a plumber to fix my leaking outdoor hose faucet. In order to make the fix, he had to cut into one of my inner walls to get to the pipe to install a cutoff valve. He turns off the water, installs the cutoff valve, and turns the water back on. I'm sitting there with my friend, we hear a pop, the pipe comes apart and there is water spraying everywhere. I had to provide towels, buckets, the works, to help clean the mess up. After he completes his repair, he tells me M&S will send someone out to assess the damage caused by the leak. 3 days later, that person arrives, documents that my wall is still wet, and that my flooring is still wet around where the cutoff valve was installed. He tells me to call my homeowner insurance! I call the company to find out why I am supposed to call my homeowner insurance for a problem they clearly created. After waiting another week for management to call me back, they send the same person back to my house. Before he even shows up he is arguing that we can't prove M&S caused the problem. After I explained that we watched the last person cut into the pipe and cause the problem, he tells me if I care about my house, I will call my homeowner insurance and let them deal with the water damage. Super helpful! Lesson learned - you better hope your repair goes well because they are not going to provide any kind of decent customer service to address problems they cause. read more

I got everything done and more. I also asked and received a quote on another job I plan to do in the future. The service was not inexpensive but the quality of the work was excellent. read more

Plumbers are expensive, but I didn't have the skills or the time to do the work myself. He showed up on time, was polite and respectful of our property. He did the job we requested, he explained the issue and got the work done in one visit. They are definitely worth considering for the next plumbing job. read more

We felt robbed in broad daylight. We told him what the issue was. He quoted us $500+ to change the main valve. He did not replace the shut off valve for the bathroom faucet, instead he cut a 6" copper pipe and slapped it on there and charged us $300+. When we told him why he did not replace the shut off valve, he said that for an additional $120.00 he could do it. My husband TOLD him about the valve and he ignored him. He did not explain that the repairs would be less than a ten minute duration. At the end of this VERY short visit, we were charged $499.00. VERY DISAPPOINTED. This is unconscionable. Will not do business with the company unless a partial refund is issued! read more

Called Michael & Son because our living room power was out. The breaker tripped and I replaced the breaker itself, but power was still off. we have used M&S before and purchased their "discount" package which offers 15% off. they said they would have to charge a $485 fee to trace the issue. I explained what I thought the issue was. I said I think this outlet is faulty. he popped off the outlet cover and said "I found the problem". he said he would have to replace the outlet and said it would cost $89. it took him 10 minutes in total. they charged us $575 dollars WITHOUT THE DISCOUNT. What was the trace charge for? There was no "trace". He spent the next 10 minutes trying to upsell more repairs. We will not be using them again in the future. read more

John Cawthorn with Michael & Son's was amazing this morning. I had a water leak from the 3rd floor downstairs to the 2nd. John arrived very quickly to help and was very knowledgeable on what needed to be done. He was spot on with everything. I really appreciate the service and give 5's for a job well done. read more

What a joke. The guy said he couldn't take the circuit apart. He said it's against the law!! OMG!! If a certified electrician can't do it, who can!! He just didn't want to get involved. I would NEVER recommend this pathetic company to anyone. As I am writing this, an electric company called Critical Peak is fixing the problem. I would recommend them 100%. read more

I urgently needed a bathroom sink replacement. The company originally hired was unable to complete the task. Michael & Son was able to send a technician within 1-2 days of contact for completing an assessment. Another company I called never came to assess, so I went with Michael & Son. The tech, Juan, was available the next day after scheduling an appointment. He carefully removed the broken undermount sink and installed the new without damaging the vanity. The job took only a couple of hours total and the work area was clean when he left. Juan was professional, timely, and neat. Great job. read more

Cecil was friendly and professional. He and his coworker did a great job on my bathroom.

Service was right away and Abdul guided me through the insurance process. My insurance company was excited that we chose them too. They have made us a believer. Any crisis we have, we will call them again. Great value for all they did to save our basement! read more

Michael & Son was very responsive to fix a leaky shower. The first technician did not fix the issue and left stating the leak would eventually stop. After two hours of continuously dripping, I called Michael & Son back to schedule another technician to resolve the issue. Shakir arrived at 9:30pm and discovered that the first technician didn't tighten a collar enough causing the new cartridge not to seat tightly. It ended up being a late weekday night, which could have been resolved by the first technician with more attention to detail. read more

I have beem more than satisfied with every service M & S has performed in my home. Because I have the home warranty contract, i have used many different services, including plumbing, HVAC, and electric. I even purchased a new HVAC system several years back, and now my 2nd story bedroom stays nice and cool - which is almost unheard of in a 45 year old townhouse. The technicians are always friendly, knowledgeable, and on time for our appointments. When theyre on the way, i get a text with their name abd a picture of them so i know who to expect.. On several occasions they've given me a pretty nice discount too (usually when i have all services completed at once vs having one thing done and getting estimates for others). i have never had to call them back to fix something that they worked on previously because they fix it right the first time. And all their work is guaranteed A few friends have said they think i am being charged more and should try other than service companies... ? Not even sure that's true?? But my response usually includes something about my home being my most valuable asset, and that - as a general rule - we get what we pay for. To me, Michael and Sons' reliability and professionalism make it worth every penny... and the peace of mind that comes from knowing my home is in good hands is absolutely priceless! read more

For six years i've had a problem with our AquaTherm heating system (piece of sh*t); whenever the heat came on it would steal all the hot water to the shower rather than share it as designed/plumbed. Four plumbers and over $600 in "this will fix it" never did. Then our hot water heater failed. When i described the problem Bahram Atarod from Michael & Son while he was replacing the tank he said "oh, it should be plumbed like this instead". He ran another line from the tank direct to the heating system and problem solved. It looks sort of "Rube Goldberg" but he had to work with the space the (idiot) builder left. I would GLADLY use them again. Thanks!! read more

Jalen Gorham, the HVAC technician, was professional, courteous and helpful. He fully explained his actions, asked if I had any questions. He was pleasant to talk to. In and out in less than an hour! Thank you. I also had a plumbing inspection done by Elijah Hawkins. He was extremely knowledgeable on all things plumbing! He was very patient and educational to myself and my wife. He explained how things work and pointed out areas that we should be watchful for. There were no questions that he couldn't answer. He taught us about water PSI levels, anode rods, water heater flushes, expansion tanks, etc. Of course, I had to use ChatGPT to confirm what he told us: he was 100% spot on! He replaced a pressure reducing valve. We had no idea what that was until he explained in detail what it does and how it functions. Now, all of our faucets and showers are steady stream! No more variations! Thank you! read more

The tech showed up when he was scheduled. I received texts and calls providing updates on his arrival time. When he arrived, he was very professional and clearly knew his trade (I'm not a plumber but I've grew up in the trades and understand the mechanics). I am confident that the water heater and workmanship are worth the price and this new water heater will provide 25+ years of service like the old one did. read more

Bahram did our plumbing inspection. He was very thorough and gave us great recommendations.

I was extremely happy with my service from Michael and Son. I called to have a pipe fixed that was leaking behind my drywall. My technician, Porfirio, did an excellent job with the repair. The price was very reasonable as well. I was particularly pleased with the fact that Porfirio took time to explain how the plumbing system was set up in my house and what he was doing to make the repair. As someone who likes to DIY home improvements/fixes when possible to save money, it was nice to learn a little bit through this experience. He even called me back on the phone after my appointment to help triage a water pressure issue, which I was able to resolve myself. I will definitely be using this company in the future for my plumbing needs. read more

I had two breakers in the kitchen that kept shorting out, and I needed a new garbage disposal, so not emergencies but things that needed to be addressed. Both of my electrical (Scott B.) and plumbing (Sherman P.) technicians arrived less than 24 hours after I called. Both were extremely professional and conscientious, and both handled the issues more than adequately -- and in a timely manner. FWIW, I also enjoyed simply conversing with both. Very satisfied with the services I received today. read more
