Time will tell, I guess. The issues were with how the work was done and cleaned up. A few observations: 1. They sell HARD. Their team talked about their Master Builder and BBB status for nearly 2 hours at our house. They were nice enough, but it didn't seem like they would leave until we signed the contract with them. 2. The post job clean-up was messy. There was a stray shingle hanging from the roof. The new attic fan wasn't connected. Our landline wire was disconnected. Their workers even ruined one of my dad's hammers that they were using for the demo. Price seems competitive and reasonable, but I was left questioning the professionalism.

The inspector was like bullying me into getting the job done. I had no choice because the roof was removed and I couldn't just get another contractor. I was so mad with them charging me an extra 26k grand that put me in financisl disaster. I don't recommend them because the salesman just want to make a huge profit for himself. They suck

Mikula was the largest company and I located them with a Google search. The other two contractors I found by word of mouth. Mikula's estimate was the most competitive and once they started the job they worked continuously to completion. They demolished a 4500 square-foot house with concrete basement, a four car garage with attached clubhouse and an in-ground reenforced concrete, swimming pool. The operators of the excavating equipment were highly skilled and easy to communicate with at all times. Scheduling was accomplished through office personnel who were very knowledgeable and responsive. There were no glitches in the entire operation--from estimating the job to obtaining permits to completion. In fact, the quality of the work was so impressive, I hired Mikula to build a rock wall around the perimeter of a pond on my property and install a French drain to divert surface water. This second job was completed in 2 1/2 days and the results were impressive. This is a company that has earned its reputation for excellence and the machine operators and laborers obviously take pride in their work. Plus, Mikula owns most of the equipment used on the job--excavators, dozers, skid steer machines dump trucks and trailers - -so the company is not dependent on others to get the job done. I highly recommend this company. John Collins Livingston, NJ

Came home from work one day to find a large section of my retaining wall tumbled over into my…read moreneighbor's yard. The wall was originally built by the builder before we moved in mid 2004. The wall started to lean slightly within 5 years as it was not built with drainage in mind. This time around, I wanted the retaining wall build the right way. I called Charles and Son Construction & Landscaping to get an estimate because I prefer someone local and was pleased with their online reviews. Carlos arrived as scheduled to write up the estimate. He immediately suggested re-using the blocks since they seemed to be in decent condition and would save money. I met with another company the day prior and was originally planning on getting a 3rd estimate. After getting Carlos' very reasonable estimate and asking a few question regarding timeline, I approved the estimate and was ready to move forward. Just 3 days later, the work started and was finished just 4 days later with a Sunday and a rainy Monday that was a wash out. I was so pleased since this has been on my todo list for the last several years and relieved to have it done correctly. My neighbor was also pleased to get part of his yard back. I highly recommend Charles and Son Construction & Landscaping for any outdoor project. You won't be disappointed. I plan on calling Charles and Son Construction & Landscaping again in a couple of years for driveway and walkway pavers.

Carlos and his team did a great job installing a drainage system (and connect the gutters to them) to alleviate the problem and were able to do it quickly at a very reasonable rate. They even did a great job putting the grass back where they needed to dig the line to the street. Very happy with their work and will be calling them again for other projects.
