When I was younger, our new neighbor used to take my dad to this private course all the time. I'm…read morenot an avid player, but it was important to him. All I really knew was the courses at Hamilton County Parks. He was playing at amazing courses all over the country! So finding a "home" course was really important to him. After years and years of waiting for an opening, my dad FINALLY became a member. This was such a happy day in our family! Having grown up with a golf fanatic (who was sure I'd be on the LPGA tour someday - I was too busy with boys and corded phones) I'd still seen my fair share of courses on tv and some in our travels. The first time he took me out on this course, I understand why this had meant so much to him. Being the westsiders we are, there was no way that driving north to somewhere like Four Bridges or anywhere on the East side was an option. MiamiView doesn't have all the frills of other country clubs, but it's a comfortable luxury. It's pretty well hidden, and even though it sits right next to I-275, you don't see it and hardly hear it. There is no swim club, tennis courts, or fancy clubhouse (but they do have a Bridge club!). The clubhouse is divided into two sections with a casual dining area on one side and a more formal dining are on the other. Members can rent that space or the club runs special events in which it's open to Members and their families (like Easter brunch). There is also a small pro-shop and a covered patio in the back overlooking the course and putting green. The food isn't bad and the staff remembers you (and you're "usual") ;) The course itself is beautiful. It offers attractive landscaping and the course is well maintained. A cart path runs the length of this sometimes hilly course. Being a private club, the crowds are more maintained than at a public course and getting on is usually a non-issue. Whether you like to walk or ride, you'll find the course challenging and a pleasant way to spend some time to let of steam, get in a workout, or pretend that you've got a million bucks. Annual membership fees are reasonable and their "hit to your hearts content" newly renovated driving range is a great place to go before your game or after a long day of work.
