I've stayed here a few times and while it's a pretty good hotel, I wouldn't say it's great. I'm usually here for work and the location is nice that it's right across from a Publix and just a few blocks to dadeland mall where there's some good restaurant options. Rooms are comfy and generally quiet unless you get the bonus of swarms of birds swirling around outside and landing on your windowsill to cackle bright and early. Obviously not much the hotel could do but wow, it was loud. Customer service at check in is generally fine. I've seen them stay cool under pressure getting totally berated by some "Todd". Only downside is that parking is only valet. In the mornings it can get super crazy. Even calling ahead I've still waited a good 20 min at the valet spot for my car. I'd much rather park on my own even if I have to walk a bit. Overall a slightly upscale hotel option good for work travel but probably not one I'd pick if I was traveling for vacation. read more

We had no heat for the 2 day stay. When inquiring about what could be done, they said "we can bring more blankets". We eventually spoke with a manager who further assisted. The room was clean but beds were old. The food was really good at the restaurant and the bartender was friendly and knowledgeable. Definitely not worth $200/night in my opinion. I stayed here 4 nights and never got a good night sleep because a gang of mitred parakeets liked to party on my window sill every night from 2am-5am, I wish I was joking. The first night I was awakened to a strange noise in my room, see they don't sound like birds, so I was frightened at what is the noise in my dark room. I turned on the lights to investigate and realized it was coming from my window which I found strange since I'm on the 20th floor. I opened the curtains and saw a bunch of parakeets having a grand old time yapping away! And throwing their whole body banging on the window shaking it. You can see how dirty the window is from their breath. I banged on the window and yelled "break it up! party's over, time to disperse! " and went back to bed. Only to be awakened again by them at 3am. So I did the whole spiel again but this time I decided to stand my ground at the window. And guess what they had the nerve to return 5 minutes later! My god! They have the entire hotel full of windows to pick from, but no, they want to come back to my window! Most flew away by the time I started taking pictures. Every night I had to deal with this. I spoke to other guests and everyone was dealing with the same thing. Why doesn't the hotel put bird spikes, outside the windows when this is a known problem???? On top of this even though my room was large, I had twin size beds. My peep hole was broken so I felt unsafe getting dressed, remember what happened to Erin Andrews? The luggage rack was very small, only for a carry on bag. I had to struggle with it daily as it would move under my suitcase. There was no amenity kit in the bathroom, just hand soap and the first day the lotion I got was open and used by the last guest. The next day I wasn't given soap. The towel isn't big enough to go around my body. They clean the rooms very slowly. The train station is next to the hotel so that is very convenient to take into town instead of ubering to avoid being stuck in traffic. Nearby are lots of restaurants and a mall. Trader Joe's is a short walk away is you don't mind crossing a freeway with no crosswalk or lights. The entrance to the hotel is hidden, it's hard for ubers to find. Was here for a conference but did not stay overnight so this is a review of their meeting facilities not a hotel stay. It was a bit of a challenge for my Lyft drivers to find the location both for drop off and pick up. Despite putting in the address they ended up across the street. What a Godson to have a very, so close to our home. Typical South Florida FPL had power outage and we were stuck without any electricity. Being Marriott rewards members we booked here and had an amazing check-in experience. Damien was fantastic. As a loyal Marriott guest with 227 lifetime nights--60 this year alone--I've come to expect a consistent standard of professionalism, respect, and hospitality. Unfortunately, my final night at this property fell far below that standard, leaving me deeply disappointed and disturbed. Late into the evening, the guest in the room adjacent to mine began pounding on my door repeatedly, disrupting my peace and privacy. Twenty minutes later, security knocked on my door, claiming my television was too loud. The issue? My television wasn't even on. The security guard confirmed that my phone volume was at an acceptable level, yet the interruption continued. I was left dumbfounded--not only by the baseless complaint, but by the fact that I was the one being investigated. I understand that protocol may require addressing the party being complained about, but the excessive knocking--first from the neighboring guest, then from security at midnight--was intrusive, disruptive, and frankly unnecessary. When I calmly stated that I would reciprocate the knocking if it continued, I was met with the statement, "I don't want to take it there with you." That phrase felt threatening, confrontational, and completely inappropriate coming from a staff member tasked with de-escalation. What's more troubling is the stark contrast in how I was spoken to compared to the guest next door. I can't help but question whether race played a role--me being Latino, the other guest Caucasian. Whether coincidence or not, the disparity in tone, treatment, and assumption of guilt is hard to ignore. It raises serious concerns about bias and fairness in how guests are treated. I pay for my room like every other guest. I expect the same respect, privacy, and dignity afforded to anyone else. I will not be told to shut off devices that are already within acceptable limits. I will not tolerate threats or intimidation. And I will not overlook the possibility of racial bias in how this situation was handled. This experience was not only disappointing--it was offensive. I currently have six employees staying at this hotel, and I will ensure they book elsewhere going forward, starting with the AC Hotel up the street. In total, 22 of my employees frequent this property, and I will make it a priority to redirect all future bookings. Loyalty should be earned and respected--not taken for granted. Marriott management needs to take a serious and honest look at how this situation was handled. Threats, racial undertones, and disregard for loyal guests are unacceptable. I am documenting this incident formally and reserving the right to escalate to legal counsel if necessary. I expect a written response outlining the steps Marriott will take to investigate this matter and ensure accountability. My son attends tutoring and I valet pay the $15 dollars stay in the lobby the staff are very attentive and the food is great. The only upsetting downfall it's 80 degrees in the lobby area . It's always hot feels hotter inside than outside and this is Miami where the weather is always hot!! Also there a musty wet smell humid due to it being so hot . It's a tired hotel with the most uncomfortable mattress I've encountered in a long time, no concierge lounge or M Club but I can cope with that. What I won't accept this the rudeness and complete lack of customer service from the staff. I didn't feel the least bit welcomed upon arrival, a simple request re housekeeping was unfulfilled, staff knocked at my door when the DND sign was out but didn't care, front desk staff wouldn't make eye contact. I don't recall experiencing such pervasive bad attitudes and customer service. If the manager tolerates this, it must start with them. I stayed here for 4 nights, starting on Christmas Day 2024. My room was extremely humid- everything was damp (towels, bedding, floor). I went to the front desk 3 days in a room to tell them the problem. They sent an engineer once and he reset the thermostat- didn't help. I will admit...I was a bit nervous staying here after seeing the overall rating and reading some of the reviews. I was in Miami on a business trip and stayed here with the rest of my team. I felt completely safe (staying in a room alone, this is the most important). The room was clean and comfortable. EXCELLENT staff and service. We chose this Marriott because it is close to Baptist South Miami hospital where my husband was having surgery. The only reasonsfor not giving 5+ stars are the rooms. Our 1st room, while clean and comfortable had a shower that was located on the bathtub with no safety bars to grab onto. Very accommodating front desk moved us to a handicap room. Room contained a closet with only one small drawer and a shelf. No other shelves or drawers available. Shower was wheelchair accessible, shower curtain didn't prevent from water spreading to outside shower "enclosure." Due to some necessary maintenance to be done, we were moved to another handicap accessible room on a different floor. This room had a much better shower arrangement, with an actual shower door. Still no shelves or additional drawers available space. On the plus side, and I do mean plus. The staff is excellent. Special, extra stars to the bartenders/wait staff Nicolas & Steve. Very attentive to all customers and patient with overly "friendly" patrons. Food & drinks are excellent. Breakfast is either Buffet or made to order. More staff thanks to Liz. There isn't a whole ton going on around this area but if you got a room here thinking you were going to walk out and see Miami Beach then you should get a map. It's across the street from Publix, which is super convenient, and the staff is very helpful. I went while they were renovating rooms and I never noticed a thing. Also, the gym is maybe the best of any hotel gym I've ever seen with a bench press, a number of machines, and an entirely separate room for cardio equipment. read more

My first room was not renovated yet - carpet was BAD, glasses in room had lipstick/chapstick on them (not mine!) and there was trash on floor. Only furniture was bed and desk chair-side chair etc missing (other rooms had them). Reno above my room started at 7am latest! I got stuck in room due to bad deadbolt. Alicia moved me to a renovated room and what a difference! Nice work area, couch, laminate floors and a great shower--again rock star move! Stayed at this hotel a few weeks ago as it was close to a customer that I was seeing the next day. You walk into a very sexy entrance with polished floors. The check-in desk was to the left, a huge wall of tv's showing scenes of the city and sheer curtains. You turn to the right and there is a seating area that leads your eye to the restaurant and bar area that was had very lively travelers. I checked in and got my room key. The elevator was like nothing I had ever seen, it was a single touch pad that announced which elevator would take you to your floor. You step into the elevator and there is a tv inside of the back wall that displayed behind glass. Now let's talk about the room itself. It reminded me of a mullet haircut...all party in the back and business in the front meaning the entrance was like you stepped into the late 70s and 80s with the sink outside of the bathroom, the tile in the bathroom was old and needed to be redone. The toilet needed and upgrade too. The thing that got me was there was a nob with numbers on it and when I turned it, it turned on a heated light above the tub with a timer on it and it had a wall phone in the bathroom. The rest of the room was very modern and updated and all business. The bed was clean and so were the windows. And the TV was a flat screen incased in a very nice wood. Subpar Marriott property! Very dated with old linens and towels. For a Marriott I would expect a better hairdryer. They need to be replaced big time. The furniture and lamps look like they were made from the 1990's. The room is a good size but the bathroom is very tiny. From a business standpoint there are hardly any outlets for your electronics. The desk has a glass top which renders any use of a mouse useless. Just a note, there is no pantry to buy drinks, food or snacks. There are better options close buy with some being more inexpensive limited hotels. read more

This place receives a star for complimentary breakfast (through our flight) and free WIFI. Oh, and maybe that it is located by other establishments you can walk to such as Publix and Trader Joe's. Otherwise, try to avoid this place. Our flight got delayed several hours later from original departure time, so several of the passengers arrived here. Upon arrival, we were impressed by the interior but things went downhill. When it was our turn to talk to the front desk, we were rushed by Stephanie especially when we asked about toothpaste and toothbrushes. She totally blew it off. The other man, don't remember his name, told us nicely that he would send them to our room. When we got to our room, the 4 keys would not work. Maybe once we got a green light with one of the cards but no progress with the door. We all proceeded down to the lobby, and the man processed our key cards again. It was a waste of time because only one of our cards managed to open the door this time. In addition, our door was broken. We weren't able to open the door from the inside. The hotel rooms definitely need an upgrade because some of the accommodations are outdated. Taking a shower was a challenge. Little did I know the shower light was timed. The only areas in the hotel that's furnished and updated are the areas for the public like the lobby, bar, and lounge. Parking is only valet here. I remember seeing $8 for 0-5 hours and $18 for all day. In conclusion, there are plenty of established Marriott hotels throughout Miami. read more

Meets the needs of the business traveler, a decent enough, if not, a bit old and tired, hotel in a pleasant part of south Miami. Dadeland is a small, master planned development consisting of office, hospitality, multi family, retail, restaurants in a 3-4 square block section near Pinecrest, FL. The Marriott is walkable to Publix and Trader Joe's, a regional shopping mall, as well as "Downtown Dadeland" where the shops, restaurants, and apartments are clustered along two blocks. The hotel service is great. We have enjoyed the breakfast buffet in the full-service restaurant (2nd floor) and there's a bar off the lobby that serves a limited menu, too. The biggest complaint is the outdated and cramped guest rooms, the really worn, stained, and dated carpeting, and threadbare rooms lacking robes and luxury soaps/shampoos common in full service hotels. Even the carpeting in the common areas was stained filthy (24th floor). The concierge level lounge (23rd floor) apparently has been all but abandoned. Upon entering the lounge, a sign greets visitors that food service can be found on the second floor. We did find a bowl of fresh fruit, a small fridge stocked with water, and an automated coffee machine that dispensed nothing even resembling coffee. What went into my cup was unfit for consumption. A Keurig would be a big step up, albeit not as acceptable as a coffee attendant, at least in the morning. An upgrade of the guest rooms alone would probably warrant a 4 star rating, even considering the lack of a (functioning) concierge lounge for Bonvoy Elite guests. read more

An update from my previous review. The hotel is adjacent to the mall and it is very nice. Except for the problem with the remote the rooms are very clean, however I found them to be too small to what I am accustomed too. The shower is extremely small, I could barely turn around in it. The water pressure is very low and the shower head would not stay up. I literally used a lot of points to be this dissatisfied. The breakfast brunch was okay, the food was fresh but once they ran out of strawberries there was no replenishment, for $ 19.00 a person they should keep plenty of fresh fruit. I stay at Marriotts all over the country but this is the first time I was reminded of the cost of the brunch before my guest and I sat down. There's no Valet or Bellman so bring remove your own luggage and carry ask for help if you have a handicap like me. There are three Marriott properties located within 1 Mile. This review is for the one attached to the DADELAND MALL in case they try to remove it. The other locations are very lovely. read more

For the money, you are MUCH better off staying at the Courtyard right across the street or any other hotel in the area. It is very dated. Dirty carpet. Yellow-ish tinge to the bathroom. Overall very creepy. I would give it a two for the food. I ordered a $6.00 bowl of chicken noodle soup and it came in a small cup and had barely any food in it. The eggs and breakfast that I ordered for room service for over $20 were nowhere near what I expect from hotels. The eggs were undercooked. The staff was awful. I made a mistake with the booking and corrected it within 10 seconds (have the time stamped emails) and they would not honor the cancellation and charged me anyway. The woman I spoke with was downright rude and obnoxious. She was one of those people who make you question whether you ever want to do business with the brand again. I have been a Starwood loyalist for years and have wanted to give Marriott a try, but after two bad experiences at this hotel it will take years for me to go back to a Marriott. I have a conference next month at a Marriott and chose to stay two miles away and commute in. This is how badly this particular hotel made me feel about the Marriott brand. STAY AWAY!! read more

This has to be one of the most depressing hotel rooms I've ever been in. The bathroom is probably the most depressing part. My toilet is broken and the bathroom is barely lit. There's a lack of power outlets which is forcing me to charge my electronics by unplugging one of the lamps and the phone. The room lacks any personality, and the lack of quality of the furnishings is surprising considering it's a Marriott. Perhaps Marriott quality is not what it used to be. Not a bad location, Dadeland mall is steps away, there are several restaurants there and on Dixie Hwy 1, and I enjoyed visits to World of Beer and Pasion del Cielo Coffee Cafe, nearby. Rooms here are a bit dated, and definitely in need of an upgrade in 2-3 years. Main lobby, lounge, and bar areas are upgraded, with many places for small groups to hang in the bar area. The hotel is clean and conveniently located to shopping and the MetroRail. Beyond that I think that is all I can say nice about it. The hotel has no suites (that's what I was told, and I don't see that as an option when looking for a room), and so the only Elite upgrades are to be put onto the Concierge floor. I have stayed here 3 or 4 times in the last year, and was upgraded once even though I am a Platinum Elite member. This hotel follows the rule of "availability at the time of check-in" which means that there is no one in the hotel who actually cares enough about keeping my business to block out a nice room the day before or even the morning before I arrive. And so my response is to avoid this hotel unless it is the only choice in Miami. There are plenty of Marriott branded hotels in Miami who will notice I have a confirmed reservation and will block out an upgrade for me the day before. read more

The hotel location is conveniently located near many restaurants and stores and the Dadeland Mall. Nearby in walking distance they have Lime, Panera World of Beer, Yoga Studio, Publix, Trader Joes, and mall that has several eating options. Check in has a tendency to be slow but they have the mobile check in option that I haven't tried yet. Parking is valet only. Give yourself plenty of time to call for the car because it can take awhile. The beds tend to be on the soft side and large pillows. I personally don't like their pillows because I feel like they are too high and hurts my neck. Elevator can be slow so give yourself enough time. Morning and afternoons can be congested. Hotel has a bar but I have not been there yet. Rooms are clean and nicely furnished. The concierge lounge is on the 23rd floor with plenty of refreshments and snacks during happy happy and a decent spread of oatmeal, cereal, bakery products, eggs, and fruit and more for breakfast. read more

I stayed here for one night. I was with a group. They told me a price for parking. I parked there and when leaving they adjusted the parking bill to what they quoted me. I was surprised that without my knowledge they rebilled my credit card a different amount and would not adjust it to what they said it would have been. My friends wedding after party was held here and everything was so on point. Starting with the valet parking there was no long line and the staff were quick to get everyone in. Once we got in there were appetizers on deck with 4-5 servers making rounds with delicious foods like egg rolls, fried shrimp, cheese/cracker...all were delicious. The bartenders were also quick and friendly and the main event/course which was a risotto and baked chicken was so juicy and pretty healthy. What a beautiful hotel! This is the place we decided to stay while in Miami for a cruise. They assigned us to the 11th floor in a corner room. These rooms are beautifully designed and well laid out. The bed is comfortable too. Overall, the space is sufficient for travelers. Upon arrival we have received wonderful service by all staff that we have encountered. The downfalls of this hotel are the parking. Parking is charged at a rate of $21/day + taxes; Internet is not free in the rooms. Those rates start at $9.95/day + taxes but is free in the main areas. Also, some of the customers can be a bit snooty too. Besides that, I will definitely stay here again but next I will not have a car. read more

Is there a negative zero rating? What was supposed to be a celebratory evening for my husband and I turned out to be a complete disaster. Our room air conditioning unit was malfunctioning and when we phoned the Front Desk to correct it, they wanted to send an engineer at 1AM. We asked them to please move us and they agreed. 30 minutes passed and we heard from no one and made our way downstairs. It was not until were in their presence that they decided to make the arrangements! It was already after 2am! We left and the hotel Management refused to make things right. Hotel Manager only offered us a credit of $30 for our troubles. Thanks for showing us that you truly do not value your guests! Not the caliber of Marriott property that we are accustomed to either. The hotel was fine, but run as if it's new to the basics of the hotel business: 1. Before my stay, I received emails about "my recent stay." Which hadn't happened. 2. I checked-out through the app that assures users that you'll email a copy of the receipt. I did not. 3. In trying to procure the receipt, I called the hotel, which sent me to a voicemail. I called back (and apparently they're understaffed--no one picked up for 5 minutes), and they said it would be a while before someone could help me. 4. So I called the Marriott Rewards number. On the call, they couldn't "find" the hotel in their list of Marriotts. Like, no record that there is a Miami Marriott Dadeland. Which is where I stayed. Marriott Rewards customer service finally "found" it. 5. I'm still waiting for a receipt after: using the app, following up with the hotel, trying to obtain the receipt through Marriott Rewards, and now waiting on Marriott Rewards to request it from the hotel. I understand it could take a week to get the receipt. Bonus: they charge you for internet use, unless you're a Rewards member. That's cheap and really provincial for a hotel in a global city like Miami, for what is ostensibly a global chain of hotels. Especially when signing up for Rewards means no better service: just additional hassle and an extra level of customer service to wade through. read more

Okay I booked a room for my partner and I, upon getting there the room had two double beds! Not ideal for our romantic getaway.. I am not the type to complain but for the amount of money we payed I just had to say something! I went by the front desk and they could not have been nicer about it. They gave us a new room and all was well with no fuss. The interior of both rooms were nice and clean, lobby is great too. Also, being from Miami you could not ask for a better location in the heart of South Miami. ONE side note, the valet is very nice but was not attended one night we waited forever and no one came so we tried to park ourselves.. needless to say do not go up the ramp yourself!
