After an exhausting day of traveling from Connecticut, moving our son into his dorm at FIU, then shopping for supplies/groceries, we finally got our our hotel at 7:30 pm (after leaving our house at 4:30 am that morning). The hotel staff checked us in very quickly which was nice after a long day. But the best thing was they offered us complimentary (and warm!) chocolate chip/walnut cookies! Check in was quick, despite being very late in the evening. We had to book over the phone because of how late it was, and the front desk woman was expecting us. Overall the service was great, and the hotel is *nice*. The lobby is clean, the pricing fair (150 plus tax), it is centrally located next to a mall as well as several restaurants! Great location, as it's only twelve minutes from airport rental car pick up. The room was clean outside of the bed, the TV didn't work, and the air condition literally sounded like a jet taking off...all night. We stayed here one night before flying home after a vacation. We ended up getting to the hotel super early, but my wife's status with Hilton Honors got us an early check in. This was not expected, but was very appreciated. The front desk employee was very nice, welcoming and helpful. The room was clean and spacious. There was a bar in the lobby which we also enjoyed. For the price, we felt we got lots of value from Doubletree and would definitely stay here again. Much better than the Spark we stayed at on the way into Miami last week. read more

My flight in was delayed till 1 AM and I didn't get there until around 2 AM. The clerk upgraded our room which was very not needed but a kind gesture. The rooms were nice and location was easy to get to and very accessible to both malls and lots of restaurants! The rooms and lobby were very clean and modern. We enjoyed the restaurant, but service was slow. All of the staff members were very friendly and kind. Unfortunately, during the entire stay, there were no freshly baked cookies. AND we picked this hotel for the warm baked cookies that we have been telling our athlete daughters about; they were understandably very disappointed. It doesn't quite make sense that the hotel could "run out of cookie dough" when it is what the Doubletree is known for. Parking was ample, well lit and easy (but an additional charge). Stayed here for two days, the building looked new, the room were clean and the staff members were friendly and welcoming. The breakfast at hotel was $21.95 per person for - scrambled egg, bacon, sausage, potatoes, oatmeal, and continental breakfast items. You can get the continental breakfast for $10. Gratuity is automatically added as a line item, but they are nice enough to add additional tip line for more tip. Overall, had a wonderful stay, housekeeping came and made the bed and cleaned the rooms, which wasn't expected based upon other hotels that I've stayed in... I'd figured this was only done when requested. The only beef I had with the hotel was the F&B (food and beverage) credits that were not applied properly. They applied the $30 for the breakfast that we had, however the morning we left, I went down and got 3 waters and a chip. I asked for printout of the receipt and there was one line item that I questioned internally - chip 1 - $18.75. I didn't think too much of it. I had called the hotel from the airport and was told that I went over on my F&B credit from buying the water and chip... but there was no way the chip was $18. So I called back and asked them how much the chip was and was told it was $5, so there's no way $7x3=$21+$5 would have triggered a line item for $18.75. On the second call, I kept pressing them, after being on hold for few minutes, they came back and told me that they only applied $15 credit, rather then the $30 credit. They stated they would fix the issue and issue a refund. Refund came in, however I would recommend you double check your receipt before you leave and make sure everything is correct. read more

Each time I come here, I thoroughly enjoy my experience. The staff are incredibly friendly, and the rooms are nice. Complimentary room upgrades are insane as well! The upgraded corner rooms are enormous. Breakfast is surprisingly really good, with a fresh selection of foods and one Cuban food item (empanadas or croquettes). This is the second time staying at this property. Both times excellent experience. There's another DoubleTree property closer to the airport but it is much older, dirtier. Smells of cigarette smoke, feels less safe, the restaurant has much more limited hours and the entrance isn't nearly as accessible for wheelchair users. This property in Doral checks all the boxes. Sparkling clean, feels brand new, and excellent restaurant with top notch service. We stayed in a mobility accessible room that was very spacious. Warm cookies upon arrival and infused water in the lobby. His will be our go-to hotel while staying near Miami. read more

Stayed here on Friday night and all was well. They say during this pandemic that they keep a room empty for 48 hours after it's been occupied and they have the remote in a bag signaling that it's been clean I assume. Each door had a tag that let you know the room had not been entered after it had been cleaned. Two person max for each elevator. Everyone had a mask on and guests are required to have a mask on as well upon entering. My stay was good. Wasn't around anyone pretty much the whole time since they space you out as well in the rooms. Plenty of parking and lots of outdoor lights at night for safety. This is a beautiful hotel situated in the middle of nowhere. The rooms are immaculate and the staff are wonderful, really caring people. If you have a car or access to downtown Miami I'd def recommend staying here but it is far from everything, including groceries and restaurants. This is a 5 Star Property. Being a Diamond Club Member, this property excels at all aspects of customer service!! The process began when we received a text message from the front desk team (AC and AN) asking if there was anything we needed upon our arrive in Miami. This was sent in their effort to exceed out expectations. They did!!! This was not our first time staying at this property, we generally stay at this location whenever we are in Miami to visit our son, who attends FIU (at least 3 times a year) and to date they have met or exceeded our expectations! The front desk manager, AN, was able to upgrade us on entire stay with one of the end room suites. He went above and beyond accommodate our request. Upon checking in, the front team made it entirely seamless. They even made our Yorkie, Rascal Flatts, feel at home. The rooms and suites are immaculate. Very clean and tidy. The beds were very comfortable and housekeeping did a wonderful job of ensuring our beds were made each day and towels replaced. When it comes to the staff we would like to acknowledge the following for their outstanding hospitality during each of our week long stays: Anthony N, Angie C, Jennifer, Marcus, Alfredo, Caroline, Juan Jose, Angie, Steve, Yidir, Ciro, the restaurant staff, and house keeping. UPDATE: I did want to add that the Assistant Manager Freddy Gonzalez did reach out to me. He decided to comp all of the food charges on my bill which was a very nice gesture, but i wanted to make it crystal clear that the charges and them not giving me my food/beverage credits were never the problem. The problem stemmed from someone at his hotel fraudulently charging my card after giving me a receipt that said $0.00. I believe by the end of our conversation he actually understood my complaint. I'm thankful he took the time to hear me out and offered a solution. Because of this, i do plan on giving this hotel another try when i am in Miami again. I would have given this hotel 5 stars based on the food and the room. However, i feel that fraud was attempted in this establishment and i can not let it go unmentioned! I am Diamond member, which means i stay in Hilton hotels quite frequently. I was supposed to get either, a $15 credit in the restaurant for myself and one guest (so that would have been $30/night), or the hotel could have given me complimentary breakfast. I went to breakfast each day of my stay. Each day the host/hostess checked their list and saw my name AND room number on the list. When i finished breakfast, i was presented with a bill that read 0.00. I would then add gratuity and put that as my total for breakfast. When i checked out, my invoice showed that i was not only charged full price for breakfast EVERYDAY, but i was also charged full price for all of my dinners i had at the hotel! Now i assumed i was paying full price for the dinners because i know i can get either credit or complementary breakfast by being a diamond member, but to be charged full price for breakfast when i was presented AND signed a receipt that showed 0.00 balance is ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE AND FRAUDULENT! I immediately called the hotel and asked for an explanation and the quality service rep said there was some kind of error and that they do not offer free breakfast they offer the credit instead. If that were the case, why was my name on the list everyday and why was i given a receipt with a 0.00 balance for 4 days in a row??? My other question is how can the hotel go back and charge my card even after i didn't authorize such charge??? It's FRAUD and this Doubletree is a HORRIBLE representation of the the Hilton brand! Had i not checked my invoice upon check out this hotel would have stolen over $100 from me! The hotels resolution was to refund back to me $30/night which came out to be $120 and i was supposed to receive a phone call from the general manager, but i have yet to receive a phone call! I called Hilton's customer service and the response was lackluster and nonchalant in my opinion! I am so disappointed and may have to take my business to another hotel chain that values loyal members and is not fraudulent! read more

Friendly front desk staff, modern, clean building, speedy check in all gave me a positive impression from the outset. But my view of the hotel declined with each day we stayed there. Housekeeping was the main problem. Some days they didn't clean the room at all. Other days they cleaned bathroom but not the rest of the room, leaving trash and old food. I complained to 3 front desk staff and nothing changed. Finally I had to go to the manager but by then we had an ant infestation. We checked out three days early. Their business center is more like a family room, no desks, no easy access to electrical outlets, noisy TV playing for other guests made it difficult to get anything done. It appears to be a hotel for business travelers rather than vacationers but it doesn't succeed for either. We won't return. read more

This Hilton property isn't terrible; it has its good qualities but some things are very out of date to Doubletree normalcy, even though Doubletrees in general appear to be stuck in the 1980s. The exterior is brilliant. Very bright, easy to find and so forth. Modern. The dining surrounding the property is more fast food than anything. The parking is very well lit and ample. They have a great lobby and bar area. Halls were mediocre. My room was a bit lackluster. The carpet definitely needs an overhaul. The bathrooms were the high point, very up to date. Beds were a tad "springy", but that's a Doubletree norm. Not a bad price point either, it was roughly $140, which is pretty good during "season" and especially for the Miami area. read more

WOMEN BEWARE! PERIOD SHAMING HOTEL. MISOGYNIST! If you are a woman who menstruates, STAY AWAY from this hotel. They charged me $200 because I got a little blood on the sheets while sleeping. They took pictures of my period blood on the sheets and they were sent to my husband and his company. (It was a couples/ work trip that was paid by the company.) I literally sobbed. They didn't even have the decency to call. They just sent the email with the pictures. Charged the card on file. When we did call, they refused to speak to us. (We are Diamond Club members!) I know for a fact that blood will come out of the sheets. That is literally what my husband does for a living. Shame on you, Double Tree. I should not be fined and humiliated---treated like a criminal---because I bleed. This is how you treat women? Should only women who are not on their period stay at your hotel? I don't typically write reviews, but I felt that I should make sure I put out an updated review up so hopefully people can make a better informed decision. This was definitely a "You get what you pay for." lesson, that I will never repeat again! I typically stay at the B hotel, however this week for some reason, the hotel was sold out, so I found this one that I had previously (twice) stayed at a few years back & figured- why not? We just arrived from our trip and there were numerous issues that we experienced throughout it. To be fair, I never went and reported anything because I just wanted to get out of there ASAP / we were at the parks the majority of the day minus showering and sleeping/ soothing our very tired toddler. To begin, our room was moist. LITERALLY MOIST, with condensation on the walls and everything- we entered the room to MOIST sheets. We had paper bags that literally began to droop due to whatever is going on in that room & AC unit, all of our bath towels were wet to touch upon arrival, New towels were requested and by the morning, were humid as well. The AC was on and off and it would get hot and cold throughout the night. The carpet in the room was literally moist and visibly and physically noted to have not been cleaned in a very long time, possibly years. Our socks were filthy in the little time we walked in them to get around. Other issues worth noting- there was a blood stain on one of the pillows (thankfully we had our own pillow cases due to dust mite allergies) , there were pubic hairs in the bathtub, our phone was broken and no body came in to change the phone as requested (we called to report that I had been followed from my husbands cell) , I was followed at night back to my car by a random man, that i saw entering through the freight loading area located in the rear of the hotel, which is where building 12 is located and also where we were staying. The guest parking (which is part of an additional fee, typical for all hotels in the area) had the security gate left wide open with no need of any car having to present their key for entry as well as the rear area of the property not being gated, This area is open to International drive (where the person that followed me came from). I was very disappointed, none the less with my stay. I have always held the Hilton hotel brand to a higher standard.This hotel has a beautiful lobby and the gentleman that checked me in was super nice. Those were the only two good things about this stay. As I'm reading through these comments, I'm seeing many generic replies to "call this number" and I frankly don't have time to be on hold for however long. I actually have one last complaint- it takes forever for anyone to answer the phone number listed on Google. (Maybe if we had a working phone in the room it would have been easier to get through?) Everytime I've called i've been placed on hold for over 10-15 minutes, when my husband called to report that I had been followed he had been waiting for a response for over 10 minutes- another issue of not having a working phone in the room. I really hope that they do better and do thorough audit of the property and refurbish/ clean that place up and make it safer. read more

Beautiful hotel, but the hallway and room was very humid and muggy entire stay. My ac was blowing cold air, but very humid/wet air and never stayed below 70% humidity. Often above 80% in room. Tried every setting from auto to on. High temp vs low temp. Room would get very cold, but you could feel the wetness. Really strange because the lobby is fresh and crisp. Woke up with stuffy head cold on both days due to the air. Hallway was humid/warm as well. Hopefully hotel fixes the humidity problems in the rooms or they will be wrapped in mold by the end of summer. read more

We stayed two nights here and man were we glad we did. Very nice hotel that looked extremely new and was so clean you could eat off the floor. The room was spacious and laid out very well. I think our favorite place here was the restaurant. The breakfast was amazing and all of the restaurant staff were so nice and helpful. They all checked in us and each time had a smile on their face. Had to ask for towels every day and not the right towels were giving, when i got to the hotel the restroom did not have enough toilet paper, i had to call the front dest to get toilet paper. The rooms are only done every 4 days so i was force to take out the garbage everyday and ask for towels.the six floor is the top floor and the air conditioners were very loud all night long. read more

I just recently stopped at the Doubletree at Doral to see it because I wanted to recommend it to some friends who were coming in from out of town. I went to the reception and immediately was greeted by a gentleman called Derian (sorry not sure of the spelling). He was extremely courteous and when I asked him if I could purchase two of the hotel's famous chocolate chip cookies -- he gave them to me for free. This gesture and courtesy speaks volumes of a place like the Doubletree Hilton. The place is immaculately clean and it looks like a hotel where my friends will have a great time. We Flew to Miami where we were cruising out of for my friends birthday. We were dressed casual, had a delayed flight, delayed baggage arrival, took an Uber to meet family for dinner at the awesome Mr. Chow Restaurant, Which is fabulous - right after the long flight and then Uber To The Double Tree Hotel in Doral. Upon arrival, which was fully paid as a package through the travel agency, Travelocity, which I've used for 15 or more years, the guy, that so favored George Zimmerman at the front desk, first pretended he couldn't find our reservation and and said sorry - then said he needed a reservation number, I then found it and he said oh, it's it been cancelled and he would need a credit card to remake the reservation and he needed a credit card for the room and incidentals and pretended he called his help desk that's takes care of Travelocity and they had no information either. My impression was he thought perhaps we didn't have a credit card, which would be required to remake the reservation, which by the way when I pressed it he said it showed we had paid for the reservation, but it cancelled and we would have to pay again and have a credit card and they would later refund the the money we had already paid. He then called the Mgr by phone, positioned it to the Mgr that our reservation had cancelled and he needed a Credit card to remake the reservation and that I wanted to speak with him - clearly priming The Mgr on what he had said to usI I spoke to the Mgr after him and when the Mgr knew he couldn't pull that story on me, he asked to speak back to the counter guy and he still tried to give us a hard time about Giving us a room. It took Travelocity calling him twice for him to give us a room , that was already paid for and they had the funds for it, without us needing to repay and wait for a refund and yes, a credit card for $50 incidentals. I'm certainly not a shallow thinker, of one to play race card - however, I felt so strongly that this young man was certainly trying to race profile and it appeared it was supported by the Mgr he called - Travelocity also couldn't understand what the problem was. It felt very racially motivated and Ill profiled. As a matter of fact, as an owner of 3 companies, educated, in the service business, I wanted the throw up at a corporation allowing such. I'm by far not a thug nor am I ever mistaken for one. Based on my experience of how we were treated, they really don't want business or guests of color The look on the young Mans face and his nervous inability to explain his made up story and policy was so telling. There are many other choices in Miami to stay that hopefully respect all Consumers. It took us almost an hour it seems to Check in. Bye Double Tree Doral Florida. You'll never get a dime of my money or recommendation again.
