This complaint is regarding a dance studio where my daughter was enrolled as a dancer for nearly…read morethree years. Throughout that time, she was not consistently happy, and on multiple occasions we attempted to withdraw her from the program. Each time, the studio insisted that she remain, stating that she was needed and offering to keep her enrolled at no charge due to her talent. All payments were required exclusively through Zelle; no other payment methods were accepted. Competition costumes were priced at what appeared to be double their reasonable value, and we were also charged for competition classes that frequently lacked instruction because teachers repeatedly left the studio. This instability significantly affected my daughter's experience and contributed to her dissatisfaction. Eventually, we notified the studio that we would no longer continue. In response, the owner sent a letter threatening legal action unless we paid an additional $500. This demand came after we had already paid approximately $1,200 for competition costumes. While I understand that competition costumes may be non-refundable, it is completely unacceptable that the studio is refusing to release costumes that were fully paid for. Retaining paid property without justification is unreasonable and unheard of. Additionally, when attempting to resolve the alleged balance, we requested to pay via cashier's check to ensure proper documentation and proof of payment. This was refused. The studio would only accept cash, which raises serious concerns about transparency and business practices. Given the lack of professionalism, unstable staffing, restrictive payment methods, and the withholding of paid property, I find these practices disrespectful to students and families. It is not surprising that many dancers are leaving. A business operating in this manner should be held accountable.

You can tell they truly care about their dancers and families, and it shows in the positive, supportive environment they've created. The leadership at The Dance Lab is top-tier. I took my family there for my daughter's dance show. We live in Broward County. The fee is 35.00…read moreeach to enter. I paid $140.00 in total, plus parking. I have 2 main complaints and that's why I gave 1 star. First, The Master of Ceremony conducting the show, a male and female spoke a few words in English, other than that, the entire communication with the paying audience was in Spanish. In my view, this was entirely Disrespectful and Ignorant. The show was open to many dance groups from South Florida, the dance teacher and some students in my daughter's group do not speak Spanish. We are not in Latin America. Have common sense and speak in English/Spanish when an event is open to the public. Stop thinking that you are in South America. You are in Miami!!!!! Second, the food is overpriced. We ordered some items in which the non-English speaking waitress told a Spanish speaker, who then interpreted to me, that the portion size was significant. The order came and the portion was for a small child. The chicken tasted like burnt oil. The quality was terrible. I will not be returning to Karibe's. Unless you have a lot of tolerance and don't mind going to an event in which you don't understand the language, Spanish, Avoid Karibe's.

I don't understand the low reviews, as my daughters attended Dance Gallery for 5 years. Never was a…read moreclass late or cancelled. It was very well organized. My daughters loved attending and made lots of friends. There IS a lot of emphasis on the annual show, but that's what the majority of parents wanted. Moms camped out (including me) to get the best seats as soon as tickets went on sale. The complainers have no idea what it takes, or the costs to put on a huge production. The shows were very professional, though long due to the number of participants. I did think the costumes were pricey BUT you have to realize they needed to find the costume companies with a big size selection as you would see they needed 20 or sometimes more of the same costumes to fit kids of all (and I mean ALL) sizes. Ms Rose also put a lot of thought into finding costumes that fit each group and embarrassed none of the dancers. And with so many kids participating, no one really wants to see your kids for more than 3 minutes or the show would go on forever. If disappointed by your kid's short performance, you could just sign them up for 2 classes next time or buy the video and watch them perform over and over. The instructors are great and I was always amazed at how professional the choreography looked. My only complaint was in the last year I had to pull my daughters out after their dance act to catch a flight. Ms. Rose runs a very tight ship and originally said no, until I showed her our plane tickets. Then of course she was reasonable. The wait backstage for the kids on performance day was long, but they got treats and were well supervised and were with their friends, and a wait backstage is truly just part of a dancer's life. It taught discipline and was only once a year. My kids were lucky to have such an experience and have even seen some of their teachers on So You Think You Can Dance. And if your kids stick with it for 5 years, they get a very nice trophy.
