GonzoEats back at it again. This time with a spontaneous find. My wife and I wanted to have brunch…read moreand came on Yelp to search ended up here at Batch. We had reservation so we got seated really quick but wasn't too packed so either way would have been quick. Host was nice and waiter was great as well. Had the menu down packed and greet recommendations. We had the chili lime fried cheese, gnocchi Mac and cheese, hangover hash and short rib birria omelette. The fried cheese was good however nothing out side of the typical dish. The sauce though did elevate it. The gnocchi Mac is different for sure. Not traditional noodle/pasta so texture was more of like a potato. Overall not bad and the dorito dust was an interesting touch. The hangover hash is were it was at for sure. The blend on the burger is perfect and the egg great touch. The short rib omelette feel like the short rib was tough not as breakaway and soft as I've had elsewhere. Could have been sitting longer than needed but still good. The drinks they are bottomless so who's gonna complain. Overall could come try this place out and they have. Bunch of things to do all week, karaoke, live band etc.

The Agave Fizz was one of the best cocktails I have ever had! It was tart and refreshing, a rarity in the land of sweet margaritas and mojitos. We loved the Bavarian pretzel appetizer. It was so fresh and soft, and the dipping sauces were amazing, a great spicy mustard and creamy queso. The bar itself was gorgeous, it looked like smoky quartz with color changing lights...super fun. The entire restaurant was spotlessly clean and the team was high energy. It looks like everyone enjoys working there. Mike, the manager on duty, was super accommodating and hospitable. Thank you to Heather and Mike for an awesome dining experience!

We stumbled upon Blackbird Ordinary because hubby was looking for a comedy show to check out after…read moredinner. We found the comedy show on EventBrite and ended up here at Blackbird Ordinary. It's located in the heart of Brickell close to Brickell City Centre and next to Talkin' Tacos. I've passed it many times and never been before. Our comedy show was at 9pm so we got there early and you enter a bar area with a small dance floor and DJ booth. The door guy told us to wait next to the doors by DJ booth. They opened the doors a little after 9pm and let us in. There's this whole other room in the back with tons of seating, a stage and bar area. Some of the decor felt a bit outdated, but it was still a cool vibe nonetheless. The space is so big and has so much potential for improvement, We snagged seating in the middle area. There were several cozy couples seating in front of the stage but 2nd row, we didn't want to get picked on the entire night. Lol. The two main hosts of the comedy show looked like they worked at Blackbird Ordinary as they had staff jackets on. They were in our opinion, the FUNNIEST!!! Everyone also got free shots with their tickets. Nice bonus! Lemondrop shots!!! Whew, it's been a hot minute since I did shots. Ha. After they started the show, they introduced several local or out of towner comedians and honestly, it was a good diverse crew of comedians. I wish we got a list of the comedians as I would like to check out their social media pages or follow them. Overall, we had such a good time and laughed so hard our faces hurt. This comedy show was like a hidden gem. Glad we found them and would love to come back and check out other comedians.

I strolled in on a Thursday afternoon and they had a happy hour of buy 1, get 1. It was a chill vibe for a Thursday but I enjoyed it bc I really came just for 1 cocktail. The blackbird drink is always my drink of choice, I love the presentation and how the cocktail stays cold up until you finish it. The service was great, the bartenders were very friendly. This place is usually busier whenever I come on the weekends but it's still a vibe during the week as well. The bartenders stated that during the week, they switch up whether the inside or outside is open. Although, on the weekends but the inside and outside patio are open. When this is going on, there are 2 different genres of music playing. It's funny because when you're inside and then walk outside, it's like you're walking into another dimension because of the change in music. I love it though! If you're in the Brickell area, you've got to check them out!

There is a small ramp leading you up to the restaurant which can be easily missed if you don't know what to look for. I had made reservations earlier in the day through Open Table and had to wait a short while to be seated. I had indicated in the reservation that we were coming to celebrate a birthday but none of the staff acknowledged this. The restaurant was busy but not too loud. Despite hearing a lot about the ambiance, I did not think the decor was anything out of this world. Given that this was our first time at the restaurant, we took our time looking over the menu. I felt that the waitress was a bit impatient and wanted us to make up our minds. She never offered any suggestions and when we told her we needed a minute she took that literally and did not seem happy we needed more than the additional 60 seconds she provided. We ordered the crispy rice (2 pieces tuna and 2 pieces salmon), the classic ceviche, Paper Tuna roll, Salmon Furai roll, Spicy Tuna roll, and Hamachi Jalapeño roll. I had indicated to the waitress that we wanted the crispy rice and ceviche to start with the rolls brought afterwards, but the sushi came out before anything else. She then brought out the wrong ceviche and the proper order was not brought out until the end of our meal. Despite these mishaps, the table agreed that the food was good. We felt that the ceviche was a bit small but this may have been due to the kitchen rushing the order out. While the sushi was tasty, there are plenty of other sushi spots around Miami that offer similar rolls. Towards the end of our meal, we secretly asked our waitress to bring out a dessert as a surprise to the birthday guest. She then proceeded to clear the table, bring out spoons, and announce that the dessert would be out shortly. Overall, I would not come here to celebrate a special occasion. The service was disappointing and while the food was good, there wasn't anything unique that would justify coming out to Brickell to eat here again.
