Enfrijoladas with Tasajo.

I tried this spot today, I'm impressed on how good the food it taste, just that homemade and authentic flavor that it's hard to find nowadays in a food place , highly recommended and the cashier was really friendly, I'll be back for more!!! Thank you so much for your work guys, you're doing amazing and please don't change this flavors. Because most places when they get praise they go downhill. Just keep doing what you're doing.

Haurache and tlyauda

Food was absolutely delicious! Service and music were amazing! Overall fantastic! Will definitely be back here again.

Came here for dinner. It is directly across the street from Tostadas. I felt like we were cheating on them. Saw so much about the tlayuda and was determined to try it. Of course when I got there I had to order more. I ordered a chicken quesadilla for myself, too. Gavin, forever burrito lover so he stuck w/ that. I did not try it but based on its picture the burrito was loaded, the rice, chicken, and beans were nicely distributed. The tlayuda is not something I enjoyed. Maybe the crunchy tortilla or the meats were very salty and dry... but the bean paste and cheese was delicious. The highlight of my meal was their chicken quesadilla. Absolutely delicious and tasty! Friendly service and beware as there is always a line. They accept cards and have one table in front of their truck if you want to sit while you wait for your order or if you want to enjoy your meal there. I'm not a fan of outdoor dining due to the hot sun or wind so we took ours home to enjoy. They accept cards! Parking can be a hassle too because the gas station that they're stationed at does not have optimal space.

Brisket and carnitas tacos

We heard this place was good and it did not disappoint. AND it's around the corner from where we live which makes it extra dangerous. The food is amazing. On our first visit the two of us demolished the tlayuda in one sitting. Today it was tacos - brisket, carnitas, chicken, chorizo. OMG - delicious and a bargain at $3.25 each. Just for context our most recent tacos were eaten in CDMX where al pastor was invented so I don't take the endorsement lightly! Also providing a pic of the menu as a community service. And to address the 1 star reviews: clearly they didn't understand this is a food truck.

Picaditas

4.5 stars Regarding my food experiences, I found that it is not better to have loved & lost than to not have loved at all. At an event in San Jose's History Park, I stopped by Mi Rinconcito Oaxaqueño's food truck & ordered two Picaditas (I've seen them called Sopes before.) Had I known I'd enjoy them as much as I did, I would've bought a few more to bring home because the next day, I had a serious hankering for them & my only options were to drive 50 miles to San Jo or settle for mediocre imitations closer to me. There was perfection in its simplicity -- disks of thick, homemade tortillas topped with onions, spicy red salsa, & fresh cheese. Of course you can choose green salsa & to top it with meat, but the way I ordered it was 100% right in my book. Delicious ingredients & nothing else. BF ordered Entomatadas, which looked like enchiladas served with a thin steak, as well as Quesobirrias. How do I get Mi Rinconcito Oaxaqueno in my rotation without spending a grip on gas money every time I have a craving?!

Writing this review for others to look out and watch for their health & safety. We went to buy food from this place 03/22 to go- I saw it had good reviews so we decided it give it a shot. Got some tacos, burrito, quesadilla and huarache mixteco (mixed meats on it) overall food was ok, 5/10 the burrito was dry and they forgot to add sour cream which I asked for. The biggest issue was couple hours later after my meal- I got abdomen pains, headache, chills and diarrhea. It's the second day since and I'm still trying to recover. I've had diarrhea since Friday (Sunday today) and my stomach aches have not gone away. I'm going to have to go to the ER or something of this continues by tomorrow. Make sure you follow all good safety guidelines to prevent this from happening again. Service was below average, ambiance was ok. We for sure will not be coming back to this place. Below is pic of date and food purchase

Homemade Memelitas
Janet T.

I was craving Oaxacan food and found this listed as a restaurant on my Doordash app. Sometimes Oaxacan places can be a hit or miss for me, but this place was definitely a hit! I ordered the Memelita which is a toasted/fried homemade corn tortilla topped with black bean paste, grilled onions, well-seasoned tender carne asada and cotija w/ radishes on the side. It's similar to sopes, but prefer these bad boys over them! The 5 Stars goes to the yummy Memelitas! I'll definitely go back to try out more food items!

Where the magic happens. It's in a gas station parking lot, get over it.

Quite possibly the best al pastor tacos I've eaten in my life. Yeah, I know that's a bold statement. I'm not kidding and I don't take it back. 9.3/10.

Amazing authentic flavor. Our new go to spot for lunch when I am in San José. Service was pretty quick. It is a little on the pricier side.

If you're looking for a catering food truck for a small lunch window that delivers high quality and very quick service, I HIGHLY recommend Fire and Rice. Their Hawaiian Asian fusion menu is unique and stands out compared to other Asian or poke trucks I've tried. The garlic shoyu chicken and tuna poke were my personal favorites. I tried some of my coworkers garlic shrimp & Miso tofu too...surprisingly pretty GOOD! With inflation being what it is, their food is absolutely worth the price, and they were also flexible and willing to work within our reasonable budget. I can't recommend them enough. For catering inquiries, It was a little difficult getting them on the phone so we played phone tag a lot. I suggest texting or emailing Micah or Jessica for the quickest response, as they're often busy on the truck or during service.

Got the kalua pig too and it was so tender. Everything comes with rice and it all just hits. But what really got me was the people running this thing. Super friendly, genuinely fun to talk to while you wait, and they actually help you figure out what to order if it's your first time. You can just tell they care. Line moved fast, portions were generous, left way too full and way too happy. Already planning to come back.

We set sailed to the hospital shortly after 5 and was hungry once we finished spending a little time w/ my grandma. There were 2 food trucks (one seemed to be dessert-oriented). Service was pleasant. They accept cards which is a huge plus! We ordered no carne (vegetarian) burrito, a carne asada nachos and a regular chicken burrito for Gavin. Spicy salsa had a little heat, very good and not too acidic. My burrito was delicious. I am leaning more towards a vegetarian diet since my grandma was admitted to the hospital. It's a Buddhist thing. Been coming to the hospital everyday since last Tuesday. I am grateful that there are options to eat other than hospital food. I have never been to the cafeteria, so I cannot compare but who can turn down good food from a food truck? I love the service!

I stumbled upon this place one day while doing my random walk, so you KNOW I had to give this place a try. I had went in upon opening time, so my wait was a little bit, but I was not complaining because you know what they say: "Greatness comes when you build them up one by one." I got their hamburger with the extra cheese, and curly fries. The patty was extra juicy, and the brioche buns were toasted really well. I especially like how they added on the cheese after the patty was marinated on the grill for quite a while, but not too long to the point all of the juice was sucked up. The only down side to the food: the prices. Be prepared to spend quite a bit on lunch if you decide to go to this place, because they do end up charging quite a bit more than what the regular places around Downtown would. But the IPA beers make up for it, so it's also worth a bang for your buck. Hospitality was pretty top-notch -- my order was taken in an orderly fashion, and they even apologized for the wait as well. I hope Scratch Cookery stays around for a long while so that people can try out such majestic wonders this establishment has to offer! Ambiance was great, and I'd definitely be back again!

I kept hearing about their hot chicken sandwiches for years, and we finally made the trek to check them out. The Good: * Friendly service * Prices aren't too bad considering the portion size and flavor. * Outdoor dog-friendly seating * Craft brews in cans * Seven levels of heat for everyone from the spice-averse to the hardcore fire lover. * Chicken sandwiches are massive and delicious. And despite it being a breast, they kept it very juicy. * Really loved their fries; I'm not sure if they make them in-house or if they're frozen, but regardless, they're fantastic. The Meh: * Not much in the way of drinks except for the aforementioned beers and cans of soda. The Ugly: * It's located in DTSJ, so you'll most likely have to pay for parking. If you don't mind walking a few blocks, the 4th St Garage is free for the first 90 min. Conclusion: Great spot to get your spice on.
